If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I'm sorry, Jill, but #11?  "Strive to learn to have complete self discipline over your flesh"?   So why bother with your performative mahhhhdesty?  If the men around you aren't actively trying to control themselves, maybe surround yourself with better men and then you would find yourself able to wear weather- and activity-appropriate apparel.  

I am perfectly happy in my little heathen world where I can wear pants and no makeup - and drink a glass of wine and eat all the cheetos I want - but thanks Jill.

Last night I had a crazy dream that Samuel and Gabriel were working with a team of guys turning our backyard into a campground. Some guy appeared with a heavily perfumed letter from Brianne to hand deliver to Samuel. But the guy gave it to Gabriel as a joke. The brothers were both very embarrassed.

Sam tells us since he married Brianne, every time his mama tries to share some private/personal info about them or soc. media, Brianne uses one of those long hot glue sticks to crack mama on her hands as she types. Which makes jill stop typing and she doesn't post. (the glue sticks the fundies use for toddler obedience training.)

Also, our neighbor was having a yard sale. Jill tried to grift some free stuff. Neighbor waved her hand around like she was shooing insects flying by her head and said "where is that glue stick I keep around to drive the pests away?" Jill ran to her van, while wearing her mermaid skirt, and left. 😂

There was more and it was all really funny.

It wasn't our actual house, yard or our neighbor. 🤷‍♀️

I first heard about glue sticks from the Pearls in their book To Train Up A Child. Used on babies during blanket training and in potty training. Apparently, they don't leave a mark. 🙄

That's what I remember, too.  They are sturdy, have some flexibility and don't leave marks.

They don't leave a mark and are quiet. Maybe it was SHP where someone said that was the correction tool of choice in church if you were fidgety. Mom or older sister brought one of those down on your arm or leg. But that you could hear this swish in the air and knew someone was getting corrected.

David Keller was shown holding one at Nurie and Nathan's house not too long ago. It was in a video Jill post about the cousins playing.

Which means they are still using the Pearl method.

No one Nemo doesn't try to run away but just looks horrified every time Mimi clutches him and screeches in his face, he knows he will get beat if he doesn't just take it.

Not happening with Jill. Janessa dragged Nemo through the play area at McDonald's recently. She was horrible to him. Neither Jill nor Nurie did anything other than record it.

Jill's Right Kind of Christian list smacks of someone who is feeling very high and mighty, believes that the election reflects positively on her, and is gleefully doing her selfless duty to share the ways in which you too can bask in the light that shines directly on Jill.  Maybe it's the timing but the entire thing rings false.

Do any of the Duggars still have a show that'son tv? If they do, is it on a streaming platform? I have a full cable/TV package, but can't find any listing for Counting On, etc.

Maybe it's for the best that I can't find the show, given how many times I'd yell at the TV for the family's hypocricies.

That conversation is ridiculous. The Secular Person sounds like a child. Do any  of use feel a need to tell a Christian what we want to do so we can get their permission?

The Christian doesn't sound like Jill or anyone she knows. Jill's Christian would yell that if you do that you'll go to hell. And shout a lot of KJV bible verses out to "prove" they're right. 

The "conversation" is silly.  I'm also curious what was erased and overwritten.

So can I assume that Jill Rod is going to lecture the unwashed masses on how to be her kind of Christian from atop her mighty perch for the very long, foreseeable future?

I see that she that she wrote over "I want what's best for you."  Makes perfect sense - Jill doesn't want what's best for anyone except herself.  The rest of us can piss off.

What a shining example of a Christian she is.

I'm catching up on a few weeks of fundie BS (political worker here). Anything good happen while I was away? Did the Stepford Bateses freeze like rebooting bots? Did Jim Bob's hair crack? Is Nurie pregnant again yet?

Jill has to be buying clothes and jewelry in bulk from someplace like Goodwill, or maybe she's one of those people who prowls around garage sales and pounces while the sellers are trying to set up and starts grabbing stuff and yells, "Ten dollars for everything in my arms!" and the sellers say OK just to get rid of her (I speak from personal experience as someone who used to have garage sales - you desperately want those people off your lawn).  Then Jill resells it for a markup.  Otherwise it makes no sense why she is unloading a crapton of clothes and jewelry when she still has several little girls who could wear those items in a couple of years.

Well of course she is.  She could also refer to the garment as a top or a shirt and no one would bat an eye, but it wouldn't call enough attention to Jill's holier than thou approach to fashion.  She wants to be asked why she calls a tee shirt a blouse so that she can quote Deuteronomy for them.

It’s a ridiculous deception on her part.  It’s a WOMAN’s  t-shirt as it is.  Wearing it and referring to it correctly isn’t wearing men’s clothing.

T-shirts are generally androgynous.  Problem #1.  Can’t wear anything that a man would, but they are so dang comfy!  What to do?  Change the name to something feminine! Same with the sweat blouse and baseball bonnet.

Not to mention that, back in the time that Deuteronomy was written, men and women wore very similar clothing; except that the women wore veils or other head coverings and the men wore prayer shawls, usually under their outer garments with the tassels visible.

I don't see Jill covering her head with a veil and I don't see Dave with a prayer shawl; which both should be doing since they don't want to be mistaken for a man in her case or a woman in his.

Jill should just use the following description for each of her clothing sales posts:

”Here is a mismatched outfit, consisting of cheaply made ugly clothing plus a cheap piece of jewelry from the Goodwill collection. It is a size LARGE and is being modeled by my extremely thin daughter.”

I was thinking about where Jill obtained this sudden avalanche of clothing to sell.  They were just on a grifting tour, I wonder if the 'sweet friends' at the churches they visited offered them clothing donations and Jill grabbed up everything they offered, all the while knowing that she would never wear used clothing and she could control access so the girls couldn't wear them either.

A lot of churches collect clothing to give to the poor or for victims of fires or natural disasters.  I could see Jill deciding that those donations were meant to benefit her.

Hi, Jill!  You should go to the library (it's a big building with books) and check out the book "The Year of Living Biblically."  The author followed the Bible to the letter (within the boundaries of the law) to see if he could do it.  You might really like this, Jill - it's right up your alley as a member of the Best Christians Club!  But!  No Plexus.  Or makeup.  Or hair extensions.  No clothing of mixed materials.  No nail polish, toe rings, cowboy boots, baseball bonnets or luxury cruises.  No Olive Garden.  I say give it a try and see how long you last.  It could be fun!

Then come back and talk to us about how none of us are following the Bible as you interpret it - it's all right there, written down.  Follow those rules, Jill!

How can anybody want to buy clothes that aren’t labeled with a size? Or at least she doesn’t tell what the size is. Hannah wore something that only said that the skirt was “taken in”. Taken in from what?

She does show labels with sizing on some of the pieces. 

As for Hannah's skirt, Jill pinned it so it wouldn't fall off her. She did that with several skirts, but let the girls swim in the Jill sized tops/blouses/whatever she's calling them now.

I loved that book. Especially since it was a social experiment and not a religious book. And hilarious.
