I liked this episode because I loved that Kol helped his family.  I do like Finn but he is just on the wrong side for me (such a shame too).  All I have to say is Elijah - Daniel Gillies better not be dead because I will be pissed.  I didn't see the previews I cut away to Celeb Apprentice.  I was hoping Cammie would get sliced when the car went dead.  Please Freya get Elijah's take too.  I can't wait now until next week.  Damn, New Rebekah is just as fantastic as Old Rebekah.  I forget what did Haley and Jackson do this time?  Yeah, don't care at all.

That ending was outstanding. I was totally off, I thought Cami/Hope were the ones in danger. Thought for sure Freya was going to pop up snd kidnapp Hope. Never pictured that Hope was protecting them because she knew what was going to happen.

Loved the the dialogue between Klaus/Kol and the fact that the Siblings are all working together to stop Finn. I'm guessing we'll get a Freya/Finn vs Klaus/Elijah/Bex/Kol fight with the werewolves and vampires caught in the middle.

This was a great episodes.  I was crushed when I realized it was over because I just wanted to keep watching.  I was also punked, thought Freya would be the one showing up for Hope. I hope the new Finn is great, but no one can match the magnetism of Yusuf Gatewood.  It was his time to go but bummed to see him leave.  Is anyone else wondering if Dahlia is hitching a ride inside Freya?

On one hand, I'm glad they are finally addressing what Hope might be.  On the other hand, ugh.  No one likes the all powerful hybrid baby trope.

Well that sucks the anticipation right out of it.  Thx?

That's really too bad.  Now the explosion scene just becomes a dumb plot point to showcase Hope.  Enjoyment of this episode fizzled right down to near zilch.  Sigh.

I loved every single minute of it. I had a few moments where I was worried that Elijah would turn on Camile and Hope but nope, still the best of all the Originals. I am glad that Kohl finally seems to have picked a side and Klaus offering himself to stop Flynn was a bonus.

LOL werewolf-vampire-witch baby to the rescue!

My last experience with an all powerful baby was Charmed so here's hoping this show does better than that atrocity.

I was convinced Freya was behind the car stopping and she would use Hope to free herself permanently from aunt Delilah.

All I have to say is Elijah - Daniel Gillies better not be dead because I will be pissed.

The only thing that can kill an Original is the White Oak Stake, Elijah might be recovering in the next episode depending on how soon it takes place though.

I loved this episode, all the family bonding and scenes between the siblings even Freya and Finn.

Hope at the end making the car shut down and then back up.

Jackson and anything that has to do with him, Haley's better around him and the wolves.

Well, sadly, I expected Hope to be a super baby. At least it makes sense, because of her parents being a werewolf and a hybrid. I just don't get where the supposed magical powers come in. Super healing, fine. Powers to make the car turn off and on? Not sure if that should be happening. Neither parents are, or were ever, witches, so that makes no sense. The most this baby should be doing is moving really fast, healing super quickly and aging slowly. But right, this is a TV show where anything's possible. At least they're not throwing Super Baby in our faces. It DID take them this long to show her having powers, so that's a good sign. Maybe this storyline will be ok.

Other than this, it was a great episode. Kol/Klaus finally hash out some of their issues, but it'll take them more time to fully heal their wounds. Elijah and Finn go head to head, and it was glorious. And, of course, Rebekah and Klaus having more incestual moments. I'm in it for the family, and that's about it...ok, and the forbidden love story between a werewolf and a vampire, but everything else is pretty much meh to me.

Jackson IS cool. Too bad Hayley's going to break his heart. I didn't like him in the first season, but I've grown to like him this season. That just guarantees his death though, which makes me sad.

I tolerated Cami this episode. She was kind of cute with baby Hope.

It is nice to see Klaus and Kol finally hash through some of their issues.  I also liked the interactions between Kol and new Rebecca (who continues to be lovely).  The actor playing Finn just kills it every time, doesn't he?

Ummm, I think I kind of love Jackson.  He's really a bit too awesome and sweet for Haley. I think the crib and playing with the kids tipped me to his favor.

Oh, baby Hope has the magics.  How long until there is a battle for using her and this power?

Funny enough, the vampires (who aren't Originals) are kind of boring to me.

That was one hell of an episode. Probably the best Originals episode I remember.

Kol/Klaus and Kol/Rebekah were some of the most intense emotionally taxing scenes I've seen on the show, and reminded me why I wanted this spinoff to start with. Daniel Sharman brought his A game, so much I'm getting more and more annoyed at him getting killed off. On the other hand, Freya/Finn played it like separated twins, also tugging on my heartstrings. Kol and Finn have been absolute delights, it'll be a huge let down if we lose both actors in the near future. And what would be the point of signing Yusuf as a regular to fire him a few episodes later?

Now I need Freya and new Rebekah to stick around too.

I prefer Jackson to Hayley, which is why I'm positive he's dying soon. And we'll never be rid of her (or Cami or the baby).

I'd kind of love to see an all-powerful baby who actually behaved like a baby! She would actually be the most frightening being alive! Or a mini-Klaus.

That was my first thought when she started talking about immortality, "Dahlia" being a liar, and especially when she didn't answer the question about where Dahlia was.

I really liked this episode, but one thing bothers me: I thought Originals didn't burn in the sun, so why did Elijah catch fire?

I remember vaguely from TVD that being able to walk in the sun was one of the lies they perpetuated about themselves to make them seem all powerful. Just like the lie that they couldn't be staked when in reality, they could, but it just had to be from a certain tree which they tried to destroy.

I was kind of amused that paranoid persecution complex Klaus was back in full force except this time he was actually being targeted by Finn and Kol so his paranoid was mostly justified. But the things that he said to Kol - aaaack! Klaus is such a hypocrite crybaby. He had the nerve to tell Kol, who has been hexed and sentenced to die, "Spare me your pity party"? Most of what Klaus does is throw pity parties for himself over nothing.

But what really got me was Kol pointing out that he is the brother who Klaus has daggered repeatedly and Klaus's response was to yell at him about how he daggers ALL of them. Oh, okay, THAT makes it better. As long as you're a dick to all your siblings then it's totally fine that YOU ARE BEING A DICK.

I really love the family dynamics, but I prefer the non-Klaus relationships because they're a lot more normal and a lot less emotionally manipulative/abusive. Loved that Elijah totally played Finn at the end.

I don't know if it has to be your parent who is a witch in order for the child to be a witch. Hope's grandmother was a witch, so if she is somehow not a werewolf or a hybrid, then according to the laws of the show, she can be a witch. And since she's the miracle hybrid/woof baby, I can see the show saying that she is somehow both a hybrid and a witch to make her the specialist snowflake ever.

This was a great episode!

Hoping we move away from the wolves and spend more time on Freya, who I’m intrigued to see where they go with.
I just can't get onboard with bad ass Queen Hayley.

I enjoyed the family scenes but something just seemed “off”. Don’t get me wrong the Mikaelson family scenes were (and are) the absolute best thing about this episode/show.
However…while I think the actors playing Nu-bekah and Nu-Kol are acceptable to great in their own right, watching the two of them in a scene with the only one who is an “Original” (Klaus) was somewhat… off-putting? I don’t know, I just felt like I was concentrating on that more than the actual scene playing out. Hopefully this will be less of an issue for me as we continue on.

I’m so curious to see what actually happens to Kol, will he die, will he live, will NB be brought back? Either way I’m hoping they don’t write off the character.

By the way... were there a lot of fans out there who were like “ OMG I can’t wait to watch a plot about a mystical baby with the powers of a witch, werewolf, and Vampire!” …. Just curious.
Personally when it looked as is  Elijah might eat Hope and Cami I thought, two birds one stone…

Am glad I'm not the only one who suspects that Dahlia is actually using Freya's body. Sneaky, sneaky.

Finn! No! As much as I heart Elijah and am glad he survived what Finn put him through he still exploded that house on Finn. (pouts) I really hope YG returns, somehow, as Finn, he makes the air sing in every scene he's in.

Klaus can continue to STFU. He is such a damn hypocrite. I really hope Kol makes it through Finn's spell, I've always hated how he was treated by the K/R/E Mikaelson triumvirate.

I am already so over the special snowflake infant even though it literally just started last night. That trope always pisses me off, the last time I forced myself through it was Being Human and it kills me that we have to go through it here, UGH.

Jackson playing with kids was cute, I assume he's either a goner or Hayley's getting knocked up with his offspring. Everything else that happened in the swamp was bor-ing. I was gonna ask why the other alphas didn't seem to fight back much when the vampires attacked them since they're, you know, alphas, I assume they're strong, but I don't think I care that much. It made me happy to picture Aiden caring for Josh someplace far away from this swamp crap.

Yeah, I don't really get this either.

IMO they really hit gold with a lot of the actors this year, unlike when the series started (Cami and Hayley- I'm looking at you two).

So I'm not sure of the point of just killing them off, it seem counterproductive...

I can't wait to see how this plays out!  I guess Freya might end up being the next big baddie herself.

I mean surely in a thousand years Klaus has heard the sentiment “ Pot… Kettle….ect…. ”

That was a well written as well as acted scene.

Kol furiously explains all his gripes and Klaus’s is all…. “Well duh, I’m f’ing crazy. You know this!” ….   Typical Klaus, never change you insane douche bag!

Me too! Freya is so interesting and Hayley is not. I am so bored with Hayley's woof pack storyline. I really wish she would marry Jackson and then move the entire pack to, say, Antarctica where I will never have to see them again. It's strange because werewolves have an interesting folklore but they have been so uninteresting both on TVD and here. I understood on TVD that Tyler's story would take a backseat to Elena and the various vampires of Mystic Falls but when they were introduced on The Originals I thought we would get to delve more into them in general. Unfortunately all we've really gotten is boring Hayley who can barely handle keeping up an American accent, Jackson who is nice but has the worst voice ever, the blonde guy who thankfully got killed, and Aidan who we really only know as Josh's boyfriend.

Klaus can continue to STFU. He is such a damn hypocrite. I really hope Kol makes it through Finn's spell, I've always hated how he was treated by the K/R/E Mikaelson triumvirate.

Yes to all of this. Even though Klaus is one of the main characters, his self centered whining and hypocrisy about the way he treats his allegedly beloved siblings drives me crazy. I always found Kol interesting on TVD so I hope we get to keep him. I feel like the show isn't about to kill off any of the Mikaelsons permanently but I'm not sure how they will get Kol out of this predicament. Do we think that Finn had enough time to register Elijah's plan and body jump before the house exploded?

On a shallow note, damn it, why are the gorgeous Mikaelson homes always getting ruined? Even when Finn and Elijah were just fighting inside the house, I kept thinking, "Nooooooo! Go beat each other up outside! Leave the house alone!"

I know that being strong and almost invincible is an accepted vampire trait, but I loved when Elijah stood up with the tools protruding from him and he just yanked one out of his chest. I was wondering how he would remove the one from his back without any help.

Answering a couple of questions:

- Hope is a witch because Klaus is a witch by birth. All the Mikaelson kids were until they were turned into vamps. My guess is that until she kills and her wolf gene activates, Hope is ONLY a witch. To be a vamp, her body must die.

- Elijah took off his daylight ring in order to set the fire.

I loved the family dynamics last night, particularly angsty, weepy Kol. I could see him being the kid lost in the family huddle and how it has affected him his entire life. For some reason I didnt feel angry at Klaus but at Esther. A good mother makes all of her children feel loved and special. That said I loved Klaus exasperation at Kol taking his familial abuse personally and him basically letting baby bro know that he does love him. And I actually believe him.

While I could totally see Dahlia wearing a Freya costume, I am very interested in seeing how Freya, as the oldest, interacts with the siblings she never got to know. I kind of liked the two minutes of sisterly interaction between she and Bex. The family, before so heavy on the testosterone, is now bookended by the ladies. I LOVE this!

I dont really care about the wolves or the vamps but I need Marcel and Davina brought back in. They are also part of the family.

They can't lift the hex, but they can lift the "can't jump" part of the spell right?  My guess is they draw out his death for a few episodes. And he comes back in NB's body at the end of the season or next season with OG Rebekah.

I doubt Finn is gone for good, just yet.  I'm hoping that it was Freya who stopped the car and pulled Finn out of the house in time though I'm sure special snowflake baby is actually the culprit :(

You see, I just assumed Klaus was not a witch because he was a werewolf before being turned into a vampire. I thought being two different species was unheard of before Klaus, and they've never mentioned anyone but Kol being a witch pre-vampirism. I guess I can buy that Hope takes after her grandmother, though.

Yeah, I agree. Although...I don't think Kol realizes how crazy Klaus actually went after Kol died by the Gilberts. I mean, he actually did seem genuinely torn up by his brother's death so I do think Klaus has cared for his brother. Now, why he won't tell Kol that he had been torn up and almost killed everyone after Kol's death, I'm not sure. I know why he COULDN'T kill the Gilberts (stupid plot reasons) but I do think he would have if they had not been major characters on The Vampire Diaries.

But yeah, nobody treats Kol right, except for Rebekah at times. She actually treats him like a brother, which I appreciate. Not even Elijah treats Kol well.

Yeah I mean I've been liking Haley/Jackson, in the sense that they are cute enough, but they were not required for this episode meanwhile their trying to power up w/o Davina? I have to assume Kol isn't ready to tell her he's been hexed to die, he knows what she has lost, awww he really does love her. Dammit Freya/Dahlia un-hex a hottie!

Besides the blah blah blah wolves part of the episode I loved Kol/Klaus/Rebekah working out their ish, but I continue to be confused about why Kol can't just vamp out, I know he loves being a witch, and I'd prefer they keep him a witch, but he seemed to enjoy being a vampire so I'm lost why that's not something he's considering.

Hee to Hope saving her own ass, because Cami is pretty useless. Yeah Cami, honey, we're gonna need to stop this car right now while my uncle takes care of business......AND we're GOOD.

I think their "human" forms are all witch, like how they pointed out that Rebeckha is now a witch since body switch. Her original body is a vampire, but when she switched bodies she takes back her pre-vampire form which was a witch, so she's a witch. Finn became a witch, Kol became a witch.

So it makes sense that human alive form Hope before she activates her werewolf gene would also be a witch. Her healing powers also indicate some type of either the werewolf or vampire healing gene. I do wonder if she'll rapid age then stop aging like in Twilight. LOL

I loved the Kol/Klaus hashing out, when Kol was whining over how Klaus daggered him. Klaus pointing out he daggered everyone! LOL So funny.

Klaus did tell Kol that he mourned his death and tried to avenge him. Also I sort of get how Kol got lost. Finn was indifferent to all his younger siblings because he cosidered them the lesser exchange for Freya. Elijah stayed preoccupied with Klaus because of the abuse, which he later believed caused the cray cray. Klaus is self centered. Period. Then came Kol, but who cared? Rebekkah was the apple of her father's remaing eye and that of big bro Klaus. The last kid - the baby - died and Esther lost it. Kol, as he grew gained attention by being annoying, so most of the time his sibs were annoyed at him. As adults Elijah and Bex revolved around Klaus and either his constant machinations to be king or his constant running from their father. Kol, at this point contrarian as hell, simply got in the way until Klaus would dagger him to give him a time out. So Kol's exclusion wasn't his fault but sometimes it was.

BTW all the kids had witch power but Kol was the most gifted practitioner.

Yes that is correct. For starters the NOLA witches drew on her power to complete the harvest so she feels a bit of ownership anyway. Her kids were trained as witches and could therefore utilize whatever power was in the witch bodies she acquired. However she only wanted that for Kol and Finn whose vamp bodies were already destroyed so that they could help her. Klaus would get a wolf and the other two would get regular humans. Esthers endgame was to make them all mortal. They would live and then they would die. This would undo her spell, which was an affront to nature.

I do recall hearing someone say that about Kol as well, Timetoread, that he was the only remaining Mikaelson child to actually practice magic.

I just realized something: did useless Cami actually say aloud that Elijah gave some of his blood to Hope the Magic Baby to heal that cut on her head?? Please do not tell me that Hope is going to die soon and wake up from a nap as a tiny vampire in diapers. (excuse me while I rub my temples)

Yeah that's how I understood it: Esther, Kol, and Finn were all placed in bodies of those who were already witches. But genetically Klaus was a witch, he and his siblings just couldn't access the power/craft while being undead vampires.

They made Yusuf a series regular, can't imagine them killing him off before the season finale.

Except he was still listed in last night's credits as a guest star, which seems weird. The announcement about him being promoted came a while back, and I thought by now they would have aired whatever they filmed before the announcement.

My guess is he used a protection spell, like the ones Celeste used on herself and later Davina.

Possible, but Kol and Rebekah broke Finn's spells and released his excess magic. I imagine they'll find some way around it, but it'll seem far-fetched, to me anyway, if it was a spell he did before going to the house.

Loved Elijah, as always, but especially his calmness at the end and him calling Finn a lunatic, which he is.

Loved all the stuff between Klaus, Kol, and Rebekah, especially Klaus letting himself be vulnerable for the spell and Kol not taking advantage. Loved, too, that Klaus had all of Kol's dark objects - and that little moment between them.

I haven't seen other shows with "special babies" so I didn't mind Hope having magic. Hopefully, though, since they've waited to reveal it, it's an unconscious, life-or-death thing only, for now, and they don't overdo those events.

I hope they find a way to keep Kol around and the actor playing him.

I wonder why they're still using "Vincent" and "Kaleb" in the episode descriptions?

I'm still hoping there is a Dahlia/Freya answer to the Hope problem.  Babies, and especially super special hybrid babies,  often mark the end of a show.  No one likes the hybrid snowflake baby, ever.  Surely the writers know this.  The show was working with this baby because Hope was always in the background and she seemed destined to stay that way until all of Klaus' enemies had been vanquished and since Klaus is an asshole, that would never happen until the show was ready to wrap up. So I'm hoping it's all a feint and Hope's owie was healed by Elijiah and Freya/Dahlia was the one who stopped and restarted the car.

I think it was before she realized that the baby was 'special'.  So she thought the baby was healed by Elijiah's blood, but really Hope probably just healed herself.  Though, I'm still hoping we aren't looking at a special snowflake baby.

I think it was just two weeks ago the other special snowflake in the TO/TVD universe, Elena on TVD, did the same thing Elijah did last night to blow up a lab at her old high school. And she too was in the presence of a charismatic, handsome, powerful nut job. I liked when Elena did it, "so she DOES have some brain cells left," I thought. When Elijah did it? I sat back, smiled and thought "there's my BAMF."

Hm, maybe Hayley, Jackson and Hope can go far, far away for I don't know, reasons. Even though the show faked us out by making us, well, me, don't know about ya'll, think that Hope would have been snatched out of her baby seat when Came turned around to look at her, now I'm seriously hoping that Freya/Dahlia was the one that stalled the car and not Hope and the camera lingering on Hope's face was a fake out too.

I don't know. That part made me crack up actually.   Just Klaus' tone and total belief that the fact that he daggers all of them proved his point and made Kol's point stupid.

I just have to love his complete commitment to being an asshat and thinking he has a right to it.  I kinda like the fact that they keep trying to soften Klaus but he still never ever gives in and thinks he maybe shouldn't have daggered his family and carried them around in coffins.  This character trait would annoy me in most other characters but he just so unrepentant about it and everybody mostly actually does hate him for that trait. I guess if everybody looooved Klaus and talked about how awesome he was all the time it would bother me.  Kinda like Elena and company being totally selfish and usually only caring about the people/vampires/wolves that matter to them and yet I'm supposed to think they are the good guys.  At least I feel like the Originals are playing more like anti-heroes.

I loved Kol and Klaus' argument. Both actors brought it when it came to the emotions behind each brother's motivations. They mean what they say and nothing is stronger than family, but each brother will always have ulterior motives or use the other brother's loyalty when they need to. It's the Mikaelson way.

Oh Elijah, you boss. Klaus may rant and manipulate and control, but we all know who the real King of this family is.

Hope!! I was wondering when we'd get to see some sort of power from her. She's a straight up anomaly, there really is no telling what she can do. I know that Klaus and Bex put some sort of cloaking spell on the safe house, but they never mentioned how. Now I'm wondering if Hope strengthened the protective barrier somehow, making it harder for Finn to find them.

So I had a thought while watching Jackson play with those kids. Wolves run in packs, obviously, and they raise their children within the pack. Wolves need to kill someone to trigger their gene, and when they reach the age of puberty they tend to be violent. So when the wolves have children, do they take them somewhere and go "okay, here's a hobo or deranged murderer, go ahead and kill them and take your place in the pack."? I wonder if they make it a ritual or some sort of Trial of Manhood, where you go out and murder, and then come back as an adult?

From your mouth to Narducci's ears, please.

I am also hoping that Freya hopped a ride over to Baby Hideout Central and was both the one who healed Hope, and stopped the car.  With all we've seen witches do over the past one and half seasons, invisibility wouldn't be much of a stretch.

Of course I was also hoping that the baby would turn out to be Tyler's and Klaus would kick it, and the "trash bag" out, and off the show. And baring that development, that Klaus would constantly and consistently treat Haley with the proper amount of disdain and disinterest, that an extremely brief jump off deserves (baby mama or no).

So I'm 0 for 2 in the hopes department.

I totally LOL'd. His rational was even better, "I always did it for your own good!, I never said I was a bastion of temperance!" Oh Klaus, never change. (No I'm kidding change but only by minute degrees because your petulance and ego entertain me).

I don't hate the idea of as special snow flake baby, as long it's temporary, I can't imagine Dahlia won't make off with her, so I'm not worried about all her magic powers, and the way they played it this episode cracked me up in the good way so, I'm good for now.

Gonna tiptoe in and say while it's probably due to me being kind of baby-crazy atm (damn hormones and biological clock), I actually like Hope. Mostly because the baby(s) they use to play her are so damn cute. So long as she's an adorable little baby (please someone invent a vaccine against SORAS!) I'm okay with having her on my screen.

Oh, but did anyone else feel like they did CGI on her eyes in the last shots? They seemed kind of weird to me.

I continue to be confused about why Kol can't just vamp out, I know he loves being a witch, and I'd prefer they keep him a witch, but he seemed to enjoy being a vampire so I'm lost why that's not something he's considering.

I think it's because Kol was hexed. When Cami's uncle was hexed last season, becoming a vampire didn't save him, he was just a hexed vampire.

What happens if someone jumps into a body that someone else has already jumped into? The "overwhelm a witch's power" idea got me thinking. Also, now that Esther is a vampire, does that mean the real Lenore is dead? Or is Lenore still in that body somehow?

Don't get me wrong.  Hope is super cute and I go "ahhhhh" every time she's on screen.  Most of it is probably because I'm in the process of TTC right now.  If she were just a baby, I'd be cool having her on the screen.  Sparingly, of course, because no one wants twin infants overworking.  But even the most adorable face in the world isn't enough to make a special snowflake powerful hybrid baby story any good.  They are always bad.  So fingers crossed this is all Dahlia and/or Freya and not actually Hope.

The  joke at work today with my TO buddies was "dang, who wants Elijah to come by and build them a fence?!".   We've all also made a pact to use "bastion of temperance" in everyday conversation at least once this week.  I love this show; it brings me such joy.

I think baby Hope is too cute.  I also hope she isn't 25 next season b/c I could see a lesser show go there, but am hoping we don't move too much past little baby phase.  That said, I wonder if the writers on this show watch Grimm.  The special, magical baby, who has been mercifully off screen for the majority of her existence on that show, is a little tired.

I'm hoping the show has had it's story for the snowflake in play all along.  The whole premise of the show is that Klaus made a baby.

While I know that these storylines rarely work I have to say that I enjoy seeing that happy little baby flirt with all the cast members and watch them try to stay in character when you know they are dying at her cuteness.  I also very much enjoy Klaus as a father.  It is his one redeeming quality - he is a (mostly) very good father - even with Marcel.

lenore should still there, remember when esther was in cassie's body esther jumped to lenore and cassie regained her body

im so glad im not the only one who believes its really Dahlia in Freya's body. Kol definitely redeemed himself this episode i just hope he doesn't revert back to his crybaby days and over the top attention seeking days. Nobekah did a good job. I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of Davina and Cami . So did no one actually think baby hope wasn't going to have some kind of power as a baby? She is a Vampire/Werewolf/Witch hybrid for heavens sake! it would ludicrous to not have her showcase trivial power when need be. Klaus showed trust this episode it was definitely shocking but when it comes to baby hope anything is possible.
