I saw the FB picture and man she was really working her angles cause I totally thought she lost weight until I saw this one... She looks way smaller in the FB pic!! Its crazy!

Her fans seemed supportive of her losing weight so maybe itll motivate her. Also seriously why is she never wearing shoes???? Can't she get like a custom pair that fits?

My first thought as well.  Actually, it was either put the shoes back on or kick them off the side and raise the camera a foot or so so we can't see your feet.  The lack of attention to detail/laziness is astonishing.  But wow, we can sure grin and put our fist to our hips to show off the most awful leggings ever.  I really, really don't get her message.   And I'm tired of seeing even a hint of her boobs, which is a pet peeve of mine.

OK, let's see if I've got this right.

You get 10 videos, NOT 10 DVDs.  You get 2 DVDs only.
Each video is about 20 minutes we're told, so you get about 2 hours for $59.
How does that compare with other fitness videos?
I'd think the important thing would be length.

And does anyone know anything more on the cruise?

CORRECTION:
OK, so it was about 1 am, and I saw 5 videos, 20 minutes each, 20,40,60,80, 1--and there you have 1 hour, rather than 1 hundred minutes.
But it's still a bad dead to me.

And thinking of other  videos,  aren't you aiming at looking like the person when you do the exercises?

Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred has 3 20-minute workouts and costs like $8-10 ($5 some places). It's also a really tough workout (especially levels 2 and 3). I'm sure Whitney's workouts are all easy and there are no levels to improve, which I think is important for a DVD set.

Newbie here. Hi everyone! Use to be a big Whitney fan, now not so much.I saw her picture on FB and how small she looked. I wondered why she suddenly decided to lose some major weight. Then I saw this. It's from last week at the Southern Women's show. There are others on IG from that day and one or two at a bowling alley. I really don't understand her. One minute she claims she loves her body, is ok with her size, and doesn't need to lose weight. She throws tantrums, like a two year old, when anyone suggests otherwise. Now she's suddenly posting pictures that make her look 50lbs smaller? Every other comment on that pic is about how she's lost so much weight and how good she looks, because of it. Yet, she says nothing knowing she hasn't lost at all or only a small amount.

Yes! It is so weird. And she posts photos of herself from when she had lost 100 lb, trying to fool everyone into thinking she is that small again, even though she claims she was miserable and starving herself during that time. She is extraordinarily disingenuous.

Love your elegant description, ClareWalks (!)--  "Extraordinarily disingenuous".  In other words, a big fat liar (not fat shaming, just using an old term).

It's her health, no matter how flattering the pose or the "shields"--the kid, and the fist on hip indentation, in the FB pic.

These cost a lot more than Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds" series, which have plenty of variety and can be modified for any fitness level. I swear by them.

Oh Whitney - you really must think your followers are idiots. On your Facebook video, you say the price of your ten session videos breaks down to around six dollars a class, which you claim is way cheaper than any class you lead in person would cost. And then, on your NoBS website, you claim your BGDC are free if they are being taped, adults only, and you must sign a release, and open to all at five dollars a class when not being filmed.  Did you forget you had that up? Of course Greensboro Dance Theatre is wearily informing visitors  that they have no information about the BGDC schedule; it's not being offered now and if it is to be offered again, that will be announced on Whitney's Facebook page.

There's an artfully posed picture posted on her Facebook page yesterday, a cute encounter with a young fan, that has all her grownup fans commenting on how much weight she seems to have lost and how good she looks. I wondered. And then I found a picture of Whitney that Will posted on September 2.  I do not think Whitney has lost much weight since the finale, no matter how carefully she presents herself in a photograph.whitneywill crop.jpg

I immediately thought of Beetlejuice when I saw this pic ... Her head looks so tiny compared to her body. Twits fan are blind & delusional , the Twit ain't tryin to lose no weight!

On September 12, she posted a short Facebook video fundraising for an anti-blindness campaign. The message is excellent. Her image is not distorted and she is clearly much heavier than when we last saw her on the show.

As much as she gets on my nerves, that really makes me sad to hear.  I hope she reaches her bottom sooner than later and gets herself the help she needs.

Yeah, whenever I see a picture of her that isn't carefully posed she just looks bigger and bigger and bigger. She has gotten to such a size, though, that she would need to lose a LOT of weight to look thinner. Like over 50 lb before anyone would notice, sorry to say. Not trying to shame her by saying that, but I think she is using that as an excuse to not try - like, "I'll still be huge even if I lose X lb so why even bother?" Which is totally missing the point, IMO.

I do think this further proves that her arms on her DVD. Look at her left arm (the one on her waist). It's abnormally thinned down. In the posted message, her left arm is larger than in this picture. You can't really hide that as easily as you can hide an upper arm.

WTF even was that video? It looks like it was shot on an old-timey camcorder, and included a long, weird pan from her book to a globe(??) while she was talking, then a quick shot of her wearing an eyemask, with no explanations. It was almost postmodern or something. And then it ended with "#fightblindess [sic]".

Everything she does is so sad and half-assed. Go full-assed Whitney. It's time.

I went onto her Facebook page and am thoroughly nauseated.  All the fawning over her is over the top ridiculous "Whitneyiloveyouyourperfect!!!!!!" ????

She also had this fund raising thing "Feeding America"......  She is holding a chalkboard that says "if I don't eat I can't dance"........

I have so many thoughts on this that I'm getting headache.   But I'll just say great message, wrong messenger.

I dont believe she has a chance in hell to lose weight unless she has a bypass.  She is as big or bigger now than people on My 600 lb Life.

If she does lose the weight, she will probably need to have several skin surgeries to remove all the excess.

Imho, she has passed to point of having to lose some weight, and moved on to a life threatening amount of weight.

The show's Facebook page has more snark than apologists, at least in the discussion under her picture in a blue top.

I'm absolutely positive that's true for her page too, and that she spends a good deal of time deleting and blocking the haterz.

I had to thinking of something that would be not be considered fat shaming.

Hmmmmm... Got nothing.

Any thoughts?

I hope the mods will officially weigh in on this (no pun intended) because I do think the thread devolves into fat-shaming every now and again because people dislike Whitney so much overall (and fat-shaming is an easy target). I'm sure some people aren't aware of where the lines might be and figure any talk about her weight is fair game since it's most of the show's focus.

I think it's mainly a tone problem, like tacking mean-spirited and mostly irrelevant comments about all the food she must eat on to other conversations that are pretty neutral. For example, one person talking about her blocking posters on social media, then someone insisting she does it while eating a big bowl of ice cream. Or criticizing her participating in a PSA, then suggesting her message should talk about how you could feed a family of four on what she eats. Or suggesting that people who want to go on her cruise are only doing it so they can gorge themselves with food. Or all the tittering speculation about her needing to use a special sex chair because she's so big. There's been talk about how terrible her clothing fits/looks over her "rolls of fat", speculation that she must be smelly or dirty because she's so big, etc.

Criticizing her personality flaws or even her diet/exercise without resorting to snappish insults is most likely fine?

Mea culpa.  I made the comment about eating a bowl of ice cream while blocking posters on her FB page.  But they've shown her eating a large container of ice cream IN HER CAR as part of what she does (while denying that she overeats).  I'm sorry, but I seriously don't see why commenting on her televised past behavior is fat shaming.  And I'm no skinny minnie myself, but I at least recognize the cause and effect of eating too much ice cream and being overweight.

I would prefer to make positive comments about how she is improving her quality of life through making good choices.  But then I'd probably leave this thread, because there would be nothing for me to say here.

I would also like a clarification on what exactly constitutes fat shaming in this particular show. It is more obvious if someone does it towards people on other TV shows since being fat has nothing to do with the plot, but then on those forums such things are generally permitted (I'm thinking of the Married at First Sight forum where Sonia is constantly called fat) so it is a bit confusing. I certainly don't want to accidentally violate any rules of the forum or offend my fellow posters :)

Whitney's FB page is full of more high-angle selfies. Also she seems to have taken a stand about black vs white rapists and a lot of white people are writing hateful things to her full of misspelled words. It is amusing to watch! "Whitnee your a racist at whites!!11!" and such.

I totally agree. You are just commenting that's it.  Just like she junk food in her car and a giant cookie and a big bowl of cereal. That's not fat shaming.

Looking at my posts I may be considered fat shaming. I would like to say she's asking for it However I won't . That feels wrong for some reason. I have a conscience. I think.

ill just say she is not helping her situation so it's hard for us snarkers. She doesn't want to help herself because she doesn't think she is doing anything wrong.

i have been watching some very interesting videos on You Tube. Pretty much people calling out on body positive people. I can't find the actual videos now but if you put in "fat shame" and you come up with a lot.   They're not shaming them. They are just calling them out on their bullshit.

It's weird to me to see the different tones on all the boards on this forum. The Kardashians get slut shamed, body shamed and all other types of shamed all over their boards, but this board is much more restrictive on what people can snark about. Personally, I haven't really seen anything on this board that I would categorize as fat shaming because it's all stuff that Whitney has chosen to do and is specific to her personality. Fat shaming imo is when someone suggests that fat people are in some way inferior, not that Whitney sometimes looks bad in outfits or that she has admitted to emotionally binge eating when stressed.

I think I've seen those same youtube videos. I don't think Whitney is doing anything "wrong" since it's her life and doesn't affect anyone else, but she shouldn't act like her situation isn't a direct result of her chosen actions. That's the BS they talk about in the youtube videos. And that's why I think Whitney is actually a detriment to her NoBS cause. The fact that we have so much insight into her eating habits and fitness level just reinforces the notion that all these people who claim they just simply CAN'T lose weight because of genetics are actually just making excuses so they don't have to make real changes. I'm not an advocate for making fun of people, so I'll always support that aspect of Whitney's message, but most of the rhetoric around Health at Every Size and other fat acceptance platforms is empty platitudes.

I really think she thinks her fitness level is good. Meanwhile she could barely bike and barely ski. Someone said that her classes aren't in session when the show is in on. What is she doing then? Oh that's right she's with Will. I'm sorry I think that's a crock of shit. I doubt she's doing anything else.

her whole attitude just really bothers me. I call it whatever you want to call it.  She doesn't see her bullshit and that's what bothers me the most.

I've been 80 pounds all the way up to 150 pounds. I had to stop running so I gained 20 pounds and it's killing me. there are other things I can do but frankly I'm tired when I get home at night.I know I eat too much ice cream. I know I'm making excuses. But I know what I have to do. I'm going to be 50 and I'm not delusional .but my boyfriend loves me the way I am. But I'm still going to work on it for me . I refuse to buy new clothes even if I can't breathe.

Indeed! Her fitness level is terrible. She can do maybe 5 minutes of cardiovascular activity at a time, and she whines every step of the way. She is probably fairly strong (because she has to carry so much weight around), and her cardio might be better than most other 400-pound people, but that doesn't make her fit. And she is delusional enough to think that losing weight isn't helpful for that kind of thing.

If she had a forum or whatever in New York Long Island be exact, I would go and ask for so many questions. I would embarrass her.

I remember when she had that forum when she was at her school. And those two people put on the spot about health and all that. One man said his father died as a result of obesity. She didn't know what to say. She thought perform was going to be all lighti about her struggles(  like talking about how she didn't want to have sex ..  Oh that was embarrassing I said it right in front of her parents. She has no shame ) But she didn't realize that there were going to be hard questions for her.she was really rattled about it.I really got a kick out of her squirming.

It's not just commenting on past behavior or habits negatively though. It's the phrasing and implication. I  think the intention to assign shame is the key. It's the difference between saying "That outfit really was so unflattering" and saying "Can you believe she would wear those leggings where you could see EVERY SINGLE ROLL OF FAT? Does she think she looks good like that!?" The latter implies that she should be ashamed of dressing a certain way because of her weight, because fat rolls = ugly, while the former statement is a negative opinion, but fairly neutrally expressed.

Same with the ice cream comment. The implication there is that she should feel shame (And doesn't! And how dare she, blithely just blocking people left and right on FB who have GOOD POINTS DAMMIT) for eating a high calorie bowl of ice cream (because look how fat she is already!!) while other people are criticizing her weight.

Well, that's exactly what fat shaming is--the idea that she deserves any shame thrown at her (on purpose or by accident) because she's so fat already...therefore "she's asking for it."

I just think if we all saw Whitney as a wonderful, kind, motivated person who was striving to lose the weight, there'd be almost zero fat shaming going on here. But because she protests she doesn't care about losing weight but still considers herself an active person, or a dancer, or attractive sexually, AND because we don't like some of the traits (laziness, selfishness, manipulation, arrogance) that allow her to stay in denial about the fact that she does want to lose the weight (and I do think she does want that because of things she's let slip in confessionals and vulnerable moments) that offends in some way. A "good" fat person should know this is endangering her health and actively work towards changing her condition of life. A "bad" fat person is happy just the way she is, flab flying, and how dare she be (or in such terrible denial, she must be delusional, etc.)?

Of course, the idea that "she must really want to lose the weight" is generally considered fat shaming, too. But I think with Whitney saying things like feeling she "doesn't deserve to eat at all" in weaker moments, that she really is in a lot of mental, interior pain about this, and not truly happy as she is professing. It's that contradiction that angers people. She professes to be happy but then we see all these painful, sad moments so we can't believe that narrative and then it feels like she's lying to us.

But again, I'm not a mod, so this is just my .02.

im·pli·ca·tion:  noun.  The conclusion that can be drawn from something, although it is not explicitly stated.
synonyms:  suggestion, insinuation, innuendo, hint, intimation, imputation

Given the dictionary definition, I again say "mea culpa."  Yep, I suggested, insinuated, etc., that she was eating ice cream while blocking posters on FB.  My comment regarding Whitney's possible ice cream eating behavior is based on what they have shown on her TV show.  It's called "snark," which is totally permissible according to the rules of this board.

However, I do take offense at your implication that I think she should feel shame.  That idea never crossed my mind.  Your opinion of my intentional "fat shaming" is conjecture - a totally different thing.

Regardless, it is up to a mod to determine if either of us is off-base.  I just know that if a poster feels that another poster should be reported for saying something inappropriate, there is a little flag for that in the bottom left corner of every post.  If a mod agrees, they will remove the post.

There is a difference between snark and fat-shaming and we ride that fine line most of the time here.

A basic rule of thumb: if you saw it on the show, you can snark on it.  However, the "FaceBooking while eating a big bowl of ice cream" example is fat-shaming as it assumes information we don't have.  Just because we've seen her poor eating habits doesn't mean every activity is accompanied by (unhealthy) food.

And, yes, if you think a post is fat-shaming…Report. It.  Do not engage and do not argue about it in the forum.

Please PM me if you have any questions.

Some people seem to love it, but more don't.
I guess it's similar to that birchbox that was advertising heavily last year, but had bad reviews.
The cruise info is still saying "first 50 guests who sign up will get...," so sounds like there aren't 50 yet.
I wonder what her fan demographics are, as opposed to Joe Kenda, whose cruise sold well I understand.
Tell you what, ClareWalks, if I win the lottery, I'll buy a ticket for Kerrin.

Seems there are far more comments on Whitney's Facebook page lamenting how expensive the cruise is, and how unaffordable, than there are enthusiastic: "I signed up! Can't wait!"(And then there are the: "What do you mean, Lennie isn't coming?!" comments, which confirm my suspicion that a lot of Whitney followers don't actually watch the show.)
