She just needs to do it in a healthy way, but I guess she believes that's not possible.

I don't think she wants it to be possible because then she'd have to do it...

YES! Every. Single. Time. Every. Single. Episode. ???

Are the season 1 and 2 episodes available somewhere streaming? I really want to go back and catch up on what I've missed.

On Hulu or Netflix.  I can't remember which, but it's on one of them.

I like the blonde!  She is a gorgeous woman-child.  I wish she was as pretty on the inside.  The way she treats friends and family is awful.

"Woman-child" at age 32 is something reserved for those suffering from mental impairments (not attacking your post, though! :) )

She acts like that because it's gotten her what she's wanted in the past (either attention, approval or a free pass), so why bother changing?

She's pretty sly, I think.  She's managed to amass a small fortune (I'm guessing) from her TLC paychecks, and she gets to live her hedonistic life to it's fullest.  All she has to do is very conveniently turn away from the truths pointed out to her left and right.

So elsewhere someone posted this clip about Whitney's infamous skiing scene:

...and while I saw the original clip on the show, either this is more footage or I wasn't paying that much attention to her whining at the time. But, HOLY SHIT. This is terrible. It's freaking painful to WATCH; i can't imagine going through it, from the perspective of how embarrassing that would be.

How does whitney not see this as a HUGE wake-up call?? Maybe she can rationalize the ski problem as "Oh, lots of people wouldn't have enough core or leg strength to pull themselves up when their legs start spreading apart like that on the snow." Okay, maybe.  But she COULDN'T BE HELPED UP. For MOST people, a friend could come along and haul them back up to standing. Not with Whitney. How does she not get this???? I get that she has a disordered eating problem, but wouldn't this spur action on a person's part, SOMETHING?

Because, well....snow.

This whole Twit & Buddy thing is just weird. The "Boo Bear" pet name (said a bazillion times);  the vast number of "crossed the flesh-hold" comments, being in the hot tub with the man she 'used to be in love with'/man she's 'currently in love with', the juvenile pursed-lips 'kiss me Lennie' 'love you Lennie' gropey-stuff whenever Buddy was around, giving Heather all those side-eyed death stares, trying to get Buddy's undivided attention when Heather's around...I just assumed Twit and Buddy had had a hot & heavy romance, it ended & they remained good friends. NOW we find out there never was a romance between the two and Buddy says he's never thought of Twit romantically and he's never been physically attracted to her

Was this all some long-running delusion of Twit's? An outright lie to make her seem super-desirable? A load of crap just for good TV fodder? Or is she hoping all these stories & hints will make Buddy realize his one true love has been right in front of him all this time?

I don't get the whole, "we crossed the flesh-hold" references either.  I don't want to be graphic, but since we know that Buddy is/was never into her (that it was one sided)....oh, where my mind is going.  Anyway, I'm sure you can imagine: a lovelorn person, coming on to someone who's not that into them, but wouldn't turn down a quickie (not necessarily intercourse). There. I've said it. Is that what she means  by the whole "flesh-hold" statement?

I'm almost caught up with the thread. :) Bear with my multiple posts, please. :)

I could see Whitney wanting to...offer that to Buddy.  But Buddy strikes me as wise enough to know Whit would be a stage 4 clinger if she got a slightest inkling more could happen.

I can see that or a drunken moment of indiscretion that he took her up on the offer. But I think she makes way more out of it than what probably happened. I think she uses the term "flesh-hold" in an attempt make it seem that they had sex and shock others. I think she likes making the people around her uncomfortable. Look at what she says in front of her parents. It's all for shock value.

I am thinking that on the reunion show, they said they had never had sex. Then I think that's when Whitney started grilling him about whether he thinks she's attractive, with his GF sitting right there.

Why on earth did I ever watch this show? It all seems so much more gross in retrospect.

Whitney Way Thore’s freshman year of college was a disaster. She gained a hundred pounds and almost flunked out. Thore says depression and the symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, or PCOS, were the main causes, but I’m going to suggest it had a lot to do with not taking Adderall or purging anymore. In college she had no Adderall source and became paranoid that throwing up would include tossing her birth control: “I knew I’d rather be fat than pregnant, so I stopped throwing up my food.”

Chapter seven, “Losing 100 Pounds Didn’t Make Me Happy,” didn’t make me happy to be reviewing this book. Thore complains, Thore whines, Thore acts like a martyr at the temple of austerity, yet she loses 100 pounds in a little over 10 months. Two pounds a week is great sustainable weight loss, especially for someone with metabolic issues. But for Thore it was not enough; she tells her trainer, “‘I don’t want to be one of those people who took an entire YEAR to lose 100 pounds!’“ What kind of person did she want to be? Weight loss isn’t a race. It’s about improving one’s quality and—I guess—quantity of life.

I am wondering who is Whitney going to blame when a) she is unable to drive anymore because she is too large to fit behind the steering wheel and cannot push the seat back and still reach the pedal and b) when she cannot take care of herself after a bowel movement and needs assistance?

@greekmom you made me think of an My 600lb life episode , I don't recall the name of the woman - but to sit in her minivan and drive , she just had the bottom half of the drivers seat . The upper / back support part was removed .  That will have to be Twits plan B for auto travel . Until that doesn't work , then she can just have Pea Pod deliver her food ( and her 3 pizza delivery apps in rotation )

By reading the credits at the end, there were actually 2 choreographers that put that mess together. Unbelievable!!

What the hell did I just watch ? If that's professional dancing then I'm gonna hop in my car and go audition for The New York City Ballet.  Lots and LOTS of arm waving - nothing special that I haven't seen at my cousin & nieces dance recitals.  I'd bet she can't physically accomplish what she did in those edited together clips anymore.

I laughed out loud at the ' it took 2 choreographers to put that mess together.  It looks like a video Pervs with a fat fetish would love.

I believe Whitney did it the wrong way and that's why she's 'traumatized' by the 100 pounds loss. She says she did it in like 10 months, because she didn't want to be 'that person who loses 100 pounds in more than a year'. OK, Whitney. She says she did it by not eating and working out 15 hours a day. And then gained it all back in who knows how long. She says "Well, I already lost 100 pounds, so...", which to me proves despite her PCOS diagnosis, she CAN lose weight. She just needs to do it in a healthy way, but I guess she believes that's not possible.

Whitney acts traumatized by anything she doesn't want to do. So instead of doing the work to lose weight again, she tells everyone it was a traumatizing, unhealthy experience and she is the special snowflake that really can't lose weight in a safe and healthy manner so she shouldn't try.

I would think that Whitney losing 100 pounds in ten months wouldn't be at all traumatizing to her body.  At her size at that time, ten pounds a month is a reasonable amount of weight to lose.  When I got up to 200 and decided I needed to lose weight, I lost five to ten pounds a month easily with lower-intensity workouts than what she was doing with Will.  It actually makes me think that she was eating fattening foods and drinking soda at the time, especially since Dr. Now's patients lose so much in just a few months on diet alone, with no working out at all.  Not to sound crass, but a person at that size could lose five pounds after a good 30 minutes in the bathroom.

Yup weight loss is 80/20- 80% diet 20% exercise and people of whit's size don't even need to exercise they can easily lose a ton of weight with diet alone

I think exercise helps you lose weight when you get closer to your ideal weight. and are already eating a lower amount of calories...Its better/ easier/healthier ( IMO) to eat 1500 cals and burn 500 than eat only 1000 calories.

Also, Whitney says "If I lost 100 pounds I'd still be obese" a lot. Nobody tells her how relieved her body would be at 270, even far from ideal weight.

I think that's Whitney's problem. She's still in the mindset of losing weight to be more accepted as beautiful in society. So, she could work hard to lose 100 but will still be thought of as too fat, so why even bother. She needs to flip over to wanting to lose weight solely for the health benefits. I don't know what's gonna flip that switch for her, because diabetes and heart issues haven't done the trick.

Truth. There's just a staggering immaturity there, to refuse to understand that being fat is about more than aesthetics. Also I find it funny (not haha, but weird) that she keeps saying that if she loses 100 lb she'll still be obese. You can see her total lack of confidence in her ability to lose more weight than that so she would not be obese. Her self esteem must just be rock bottom. I would feel sorry for her if she weren't such a narcissistic user.

According to her, she has no health problems.  And she keeps on saying that skinny people can be unhealthy too.

Always an answer to everything.

I'm wondering if her pre diabetes came back ( although I say bullshit that it's gone), if that would motivate her. It did last time. She did go to the nutritionist and lost weight. I think parents had an impact on her then. Now, their opinions don't matter.

Im wondering if they are going to be there for her when she can't get up from a bed and need to be washed and changed.  It would be their worst nightmare. They would be stuck because she is their daughter. They won't be able to say anything because she throw a hissy fit.

She would still preach no body shame when she falls off the bed and has to call 911 to get her up. That happened on "my 600 lb life". Guy slid off the chair. It wasn't the first time either. Pathetic.

I think a good wake-up call for her, would be to leave her completely alone for a week, no one to put on her shoes, no one to help her out of the shower, etc.
She could have one of those alert buttons if she really fell, but a false alarm would not garner assistance.

And maybe a marathon screening of My 600-lb Life.

I wonder if she ever worries that she going to as big as the people in -"my 600 lb life".  Does she even care? She probably thinks that her family and friends love her so much that they will be at her beck and call if she were incapacitated.

As I said before her parents will out of guilt. Watch her friends leave one by one.

She's technically already as big as the some of the people in My 600lb Life if you take her height into account. Whit is 5'1, which is a solid 5 inches shorter than the average lady.

For a 5'6 woman to have the same BMI as Whitney (70, as of last we knew her real weight - a healthy BMI is 19-25) she'd have to weigh at least 430lbs. We've definitely seen heavier people on the show, but there have been a handful that were in the 400 range.

I really think she has absolutely no intention of losing any weight. She's on a mission now: to show the world that you can be ____ lbs. and still _______________________.  Fill in your own blanks.

I don't think Whitney wants to be fat, or deliberately tries to stay fat (though it is true that she might not have a TV show if she wasn't.)

Whitney is an addict. A food addict. Being fat, diabetic, or dead means nothing in light of her addiction. The fat is just a side effect that couldn't possibly have anything to do with her addiction, and she will do or say absolutely anything to justify keeping the addiction.

It's exactly like dealing with a drug addict or an alcoholic. They react the same way if you try to take away their drug or point out how much damage it's doing to them. They remain fiercely in denial, because for an addict - any addict - there's nothing worse than being deprived of their drug.

Nothing.

Seriously, that is an excellent idea. Get rid of the enablers for a week and see what happens. Wonder if she's watched 600-lb Life? She sure should.

Whitney is a food addict. Addicts only kick their habit for one reason and one reason only: When the pain of being an addict outweighs the pain of change (no pun intended.)

Yes, she needs Dr. Now, but first she needs Dr. Drew. In fact, most of the people on 600-lb Life would benefit from an addiction specialist because I'm convinced that's really what most of them are dealing with.

The comments justifying the price are hilarious.  It's five workout videos and five dance videos per DVD apparently, which Whitney seems to have copied and pasted a lot until her fangirls started doing it for her.

And I mean, really: "And cost was nothing especially when you receive so much more than just videos of dancing. Whit you are giving us an avenue to take back our lives and that is amazing
God bless you"

But she said in one of the first episodes of this season that she wants to be fat. Maybe deep down she doesn't. She probably just gave up and doesn't want to admit it so she hides behind no body shame. It's basically allowing her to save face. It was hard for her to lose 100 lbs and she did say she was basically eating nothing and exercising a lot (if she is being truthful). If she admitted to that, I would have respect for her. It would not be anything to be ashamed of in my opinion. She could just say I gave up and am just going to accept the way I am. I'm not going to fight it

I think she said she wasn't a food addict (bullshit). How does someone get to 370 and not be a food addict? Sorry the whole gaining weight just because of PCOS doesn't fly.  She admitted she ate a lot in college in addition to having PCOS. So whose to say it wasn't the eating that was the main culprit?

Did she ever say why she wouldn't consider surgery?

I was late to watch the last couple episodes, but had to come here when I saw the big Instagram DVD update.  Her stans aren't so happy about that price LOL.  I wouldn't be!  Sixty bucks to stick a leg out, pivot, arm out, pivot, eyebrow raise....repeat? Hell no.  I did see that she added an update that explained how the price broke down to something like $5-6 per workout and how that's actually a great deal considering the price of her classes.  Nice try.  I could never afford an in-person workout with Mary Helen Bowers, but I can stream all or parts of a variety of hour-long workouts for less than Whit's ass jigglin' pivot fest.

Just checked amazon, and you can buy a lot of other cheaper dvds, and the belly dance ones look like fun.

I just checked Amazon to see if any of her dvds landed on the marketplace yet - a little soon, but you never know.  Anyway, the search feature did not appreciate WERK!

Is it just me or did they photoshop Whitney's arm (very poorly) for the cover of the DVDs? That left forearm looks like it was dramatically thinned down.

I'm not sure. I have to remind myself that she's 5'1", so she probably has relatively short and smallish forearms.  Everyone gains differently, but I'm guessing the bulk of any additional arm weight goes to the upper arm.  It kind of reminds me of pictures of Lauren Conrad. She's very thin by comparison, but she also has that T-Rex/dainty forearm thing going.  (This is what I do on a lazy Saturday morning - drink coffee and analyze forearms LOL)

There's an artfully posed picture posted on her Facebook page yesterday, a cute encounter with a young fan, that has all her grownup fans commenting on how much weight she seems to have lost and how good she looks. Her fans seemed supportive of her losing weight so maybe itll motivate her. Also seriously why is she never wearing shoes???? Can't she get like a custom pair that fits?
