Welp. Seems like it's really over. Intermittent "Database Not Found" messages means the end is 'nigh. The forum went out in a blaze of ... something.

 

Whoever comes up with the closest duplicate to TWoP without infringing on copyright will have a hugely successful site. The clock is ticking,though. Some smart person should have done that as soon as the announcement was made and scooped up all the lost souls. I may pop in here from time to time, but these multiple threads are no bueno.

I agree with all of this.

 

I just wish it hadn't gotten so ugly at the end. That's exactly what I was glad TWOP didn't tolerate. I think that atmosphere is also key to the success (at least what I term success) of an intelligent, fun, engrossing forum, even when people disagree. Why come online to be negative? Isn't there enough of that in real life? I definitely hope that at least in this way, Previously.tv is similar to TWOP. The forum setup and white backgrounds/menus can tone down later, get a little less of a juvenile aesthetic? 

 

So are we ready for this deposition and sentencing? The Guidices getting done on the same day! BRAVO steady making a check off this. I swear this is better than a soap opera! It's real!

Is his hair even more shellacked than Jermaine Jackson's?  What does Phaedra think about Todd not being a "clean" man? Has Gregg gone fully deaf? Does he have enough powder? Has he sent Apollo the moon pies? What flavor?** 

 

These things and more, on the next season (or this summer) of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

In on topic news, yes, this show has definitely turned into a soap opera. It's so much better than regular soaps because this has a basis in reality. Salacious gossip, media reports. Victor and Nikki and 'em ain't got nothing on them.

I got the last word in on the RHoATL thread on TWoP :). Happy to be here. I just can't believe people was getting banned in the last minutes.... Truly sad

They are so petty and childish. They banned me on the last day over a comment I made on Wednesday. If the comment bothered you why wait 3 or 4 days to do something about it? I have been posting on that site for many years. Since I believe 2002 or whenever the first season of American Idol was. That's a very long time and I rarely ran into problems with the mods. Lost count of how many posts I ended up with but now I guess it's a fresh start for everyone.

I think if I'd just lost my job because some bigass corporation suddenly decided they didn't need me anymore, I'd want to go out in a blaze of glory. I think that may be what the mods there felt like doing. I wanted to post something really significant but got too busy grilling dinner and I forgot what I was going to say.

 

Anyhooo, glad we have this place to discuss what's about to go down with Apollo going to the Big House and whether or not Phaedra will follow. I really, truly hope she doesn't go to jail because who will take care of their children? Apollo sure as hell didn't think of them at all during his escapades.

I think we are able to create threads within this forum. However, I did ask about having a general discussion vs threaded, and David indicated that it is preferred to discuss by episode. Personally, I don't think this is a very good option for a show like this, since everything runs over with the last 5-7 minutes of a show being the first of the next ep, and storylines go on and on. Plus I can barely distinguish what happens season to season, much less episode to episode. I guess we can see how it works and maybe transition if it's too jumbled?

For shows like survivor, I think episode threads are fine but with shows like the housewives which are rerun constantly & with older marathons, a single thread is better.  I hope we can all adjust because I hate to lose any of the wonderful posters with great insight because of thread formatting.

That being said, for right now we've made a Season 6 discussion thread, that should work for any discussion of the most recent season, I'm also not going to ding you if you reference back to something from seasons 1-5 to make a point in that thread. If you have specific thoughts about a specific housewife of course you can also use their individual thread. The individual episode threads make the most sense when the show is actually airing new episodes so until then my suggestion is to jump into a specific housewife thread or go to the Season 6 thread for general discussion. Additionally if you wanted a thread for a prior season feel free to start it and talk about that season as well. Feel free to PM me with any questions. And Welcome!

Absolutely.  It was a great environment over there last night...Until the mod-bashing posts started and people started getting banned for them left and right, bwahahaha.

 

Funny thing is, I was in the process of posting a big fat LOL to one of them in the RHoATL thread because, even if I didn't necessarily agree with it, it was a snarkaclious comment, but then I got distracted by the goodbye thread and didn't get around to it.  Good thing I didn't, or Howard would have brought her BANNED hammer down on me, too!  Keeping multiple tabs open last night unintentionally saved my ass.

At 8:38pm, I noticed Howard had logged out so I added my disgust w/moderation noting I was spanked for calling Joyce a bad seed. Soon after that all us Howard victims released years of bitter bile ( on lots of forums). The only banning I actually saw was a person who spoke her piece and told TBTP to ban her. They did and there was snark about that. I hung out until about 12:15 midnight EST, but I had to get back to Adult swim. If administration never knew how hated Howard was, folks did their testifying that night for the few who would ever see their wrath.

 

Anyway, on to better days here I hope.

On the top right of each threaded page, just above the responses, there is a light turquoise button that says "follow." Click that on the page of each show you want on your list. Once you do, there will be notification options available, like emails for new messages, etc. The "my shows" button which is at the very top right, also turquoise, will take you to a page that shows all the shows you follow. This way, you can make a mini homepage.

Just an FYI to those using mobile view...I was never able to see the follow button in mobile view. I had to switch to full site to follow my shows. It may just be my phone though (I'm on an Android).

Don't feel alone. I by and large avoid Bravo weddings also, skipped all but Nene's, because ... Marlo, ya know? But since Bravo's slick ass showed it under the heading of RHOA, which is on a series record on my DVR, I have the first episode recorded. Which means it's only a Saturday of nothing on before I decide, "what the hell, it's better than the 8 episodes of Living Single they repeat on loop (I mean, really, how many weeks in a row do we have to see Overton's sister crush on Kyle? Or Regine as Bin Master? Did they buy a dozen episodes and that's it??") Ahem. But I digress.

 

So yes, I too become Bravo's bitch when there's enough empty network air. And everything is on summer hiatus now. So Koming to America and Bitches of London it is. God help me, I didn't WATCH, but I didn't turn from those chicks with crowns either. *ashamed*

 

BTW, it seems there are no archives (not that I can find) but I did find a thread I needed in the Wayback machine. So helpful since I just downloaded Season 3 of Bethenny Ever After and needed the accompanying snark. 'Cause, damn Bravo, y'all sure can hold back a show when you want to, you wore me down on ever seeing it free on TV or Netflix.

Basically to paraphrase Dave, the current mobile version sucks, there's nothing we can do about it as the software is old and we don't control it. There is an upgrade coming and hopefully it will solve these problems. You're not alone, no one can see "my shows" in mobile. The mobile version sucks.

This is probably best posted in Cynthia's thread, but I was flying back from the ATL and who would happen to be at my gate but Cynthia, Peter and Noel!  Being a cool, semi-New Yorker I couldn't go and ask for a picture, but I encouraged some random high school girl on the same flight to go and get one and then snapped that.  When she asked, Peter said no.  Cynthia seemed nice, she went to offer some woman with two kids her sandwich.  That just seemed weird.  Some woman who didn't watch the show much asked me if Cynthia was "Meme", I didn't go into their friend now enemies status.  Turns out it was only Noel who was flying to NYC.  Who would be in NY waiting to meet her but Noel!  Can I post pics here?

It took me what, a couple of days here, to get used to the formatting and I have to say I think now I prefer it.  It is much easier to navigate the discussions.  I have to chime in how alarmed I was in the final moments of TWoP with the Howard pile on.  I feel like I never posted enough for the moderating to be a big issue.  I did not predict the thread ending that way. *snip*

Juicy!  However, having said that, I'm so glad you all are here.  I missed having a message board to interact with people at 5am.  For some reason, no one in my life wants me calling them at 3:30 in the morning to talk about how nutty Mama Joyce is, or how much Nene is getting on my last nerve.
