I think that Sonny will leave town..Then Will and Sparkle will get together, then a recast Sonny comes back.....Guy, Christopher and the twins are still taping, so Sonny and Will leaving together is not going to happen at the end of Freddie's run.....Will and Sparkle will be married by this time next year....Or worst case scenario, Will tries to kill Sparkle and kills Sonny by accident....Based on Freddie's interview with Michael Fairman, things are going to get worst for the trio...

That  is true..I always felt that they were going to write out Will and Sonny after they marry them with Chandler in the role...The show decided to fire him because  he had told the soap press of his intentions to leave the show after his contract expires..The show decided to be jackasses  by firing him and bringing in Guy in the role...Look at what they did to him at last year's Emmy's.  Instead oh showing his reel, they showed Wilson getting married.. Wilson's wedding got the show a lot of press and publicity. It was one last cheap shot by the show to Chandler, to basically minimize his contribution to the success of Wilson...They really hated him....He did not thank Freddie when he won his Emmy....I saw the reel on youtube  that got him his Emmy. It  was awesome, and that  is the Will that I remember and love, even with Guy in the role....I am more attached to the character than the actor  in the role....

They are probably giving everyone short contracts now because they know the show isn't going to be around much longer.

I had a feeling today that maybe Sneasel will try to kill Sparkle and Sonny will die instead.  :(  I have no problem with the storyline as it is and as it may play out (other than Freddie leaving) because the acting by FS and CS is good, they're hot, and they have chemistry.  Romantic/sexual longing is lots more fun than Sneasel and Sonny folding laundry and endlessly putting that kid to bed.

 

I wonder why FS's departure hasn't been confirmed.

They are probably giving everyone short contracts now because they know the show isn't going to be around much longer.

I know NBC officially renewed it until Sep 2016, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were ratings triggers built into the contract that allowed the network to cancel it.

 

Has there been any news about NBC developing a new game show or talk show? I don't think they would cancel Days until they felt confident they had something viable to replace it.

I'm currently shipping Czoe (Chad deserved better than Abigail).

 

I have been convinced for a long time that Will will try to kill Paul and I would not be surprised if poor Sonny got caught in the crossfire. There's nothing healthy about Will's obsession and nothing good will come from this. Sonny finally said what we have all been thinking- gave Will a full roadmap to where he got Sonny f'cked up, and Will STILL turns it into a Paul problem.

 

I really really like Haiden more than Bope. There, I said it. Hope was like Nicole where every time she was in a triangle, her significant other was the desirable one. I love that Hope has all of Aiden's attention and doesn't have to share it with Billie 2.0 or Carly 2.0.

How would Will still  be a viable character if he does kill Sonny?  I  think Arianna might get hurt in whatever scheme Will cooks up against Sparkle...I have a feeling Will will lose custody of her to Rafe...Being a douche bag is not enough for somebody to lose their child...

It's only occurred to him that Sonny would leave him for Paul- not that Sonny would leave him in general. Will seems to think the ONLY way he could even possibly lose Sonny is to manipulation from Paul and not as a plausible consequence of Will's bad behavior. It's creepy.

It's fiction.  It doesn't bother me.   In a town where people get their vital organs stolen and restored in a prison OR, where babies are born at term in 5 months from an embryo stolen from a womb, where one doctor covers all specialties and patients from brain surgery to the ER,  where multiple residents have lived as completely different people, where Roman is Chris Kositchek's twin and no one notices, where brothers and sisters fall in love before finding out they're related, where no one is ever really dead, where princesses live in swamps, where people are buried alive and never have to pee...suspension of reality is part of the deal, lol.

The hilarious thing about DOOL and fiction in general: i will believe ANYTHING they put into the world as a rule, but I will not stand for them breaking their own rules once they established them- hence why I accept that Marlena turned into a panther, Melaswen, and embryo-napping but I will not accept DOOL telling me that Victor has a never before mentioned nephew, brother and familial connection after establishing as a rule that Victor and Justin were the last of the Kiriakases for YEARS.

I know that it is fiction, but, it would still be a horrible way to destroy a couple with a fanbase....Since they threw Jack under the  bus for Dan and Jen was actually torn between them..The real Jennifer Rose Horton would never look at Dr Tan...I would not put it past Ken Corday..he loves to give his middle finger to the fans of the show..Look at what he did to EJ and Sami and I am one of the few Lumi fans that had no problem with EJ/Sami exploring a flirtation, because their chemistry was so damn hot, as long as she got with Lucas in the end...lol

I am so with you on this!  Freddie Smith's Sonny is who I am watching for and who I'm invested in and once he's gone, I won't care one whit for either Will or Paul's futures, so the show better give this brilliant actor a proper send off.  And I do love the idea of Will's trying to kill Paul and he accidently kills Sonny--that's epic soapiness :)

If the new writers don't get the ratings to go up in time for renewal next year, they might cancel it...I don't want that, but, it might happen...I started watching the show when the Johnson Family saga was unfolding with Steve, Adrienne and Jack....That storyline was so awesome from start to finish, so many twists and turns..I doubt the writers of today could pull it off....

I agree. As much fun it is to snark about this show, it has become a part of my life, and I only started watching in 2009. 

For me, snarking about the show is half (or all) the fun. It is a total guilty pleasure, not a hate watch kinda thing. I never saw the point in hate watching. What a waste of time and energy. If it gets to that point I just wouldn't watch anymore, which is what happened with me and Bold and the Beautiful about 10+ years ago. Got tired of the clustermuck of Brooke/Ridge/Taylor so rather than work myself into a lather about it I just stopped watching and my life has been better for it.

 

I am not pinning any hopes or aspirations on the new writers. It is Dena Higley after all and I remember the celebrations and virtual champagne popping when she was originally fired and now she is back.  Now I see all over the internet quite a few waiting on the new writers material to air like Higley's material is any better than Tomsell. What the what? Come on now. We are just trading one hack for another hack that was proven incompetent and fired years ago so how can this be good? The only upside I see in this is that Higley was willing to write for Nicole. It still wasn't the best material (babyswitch) but Ari Zucker got to stretch her acting muscle and show she was leading lady material. 

 

I've said it before and I will say it again, Will comes across as unhinged to me. Not just delusional, but unhinged.

 

Chad and Zoe did have chem. Zoe is very, very pretty. Such pretty hair.

I just do not understand why they did not bring in new writers for the show..I am sure that we will be complaining about Higley soon..I don't trust her at all..She likes Dan and Rafe...that is all I need to know to not like her..However, she does like the Kiriakis family, she brought Sonny into town and used Justin and Adrienne his parents to connect us to him...Most people love Sonny, not only on this board, but in others as well...That is a testament to Freddie's talent and he will be missed...

Abigail is smugger than Gwyneth Paltrow. OMG. 

My Hate-Abigailitis disorder was off the charts yesterday.

 

I got to laugh at her (potential cure for this disorder?) when Zoe walked in,  but I still  need an MRI, stat!

 

Ben is so freaking dumb. He should have realized that Abigail was so embarrassed about the mistake she made with Chad that she was looking to Ben to be her gay BFF who could console her over her foolishness.

I doubt Abifail will be murdered, she is Ken's favorite..Look at how she got away with being a side piece and got the upper-hand when it came to Sami....I have no idea what will happen to Will..I expect it to get worst and he will lose his daughter and Sonny....Higley is a hack...I wish that they would get a fan with writing credentials to write for the show. We could do a better job than the current writers and we would respect the history of the show and the fans...I don't care for Abigail, but I understand her importance to the show because she is a legacy child..She should be a vixen and not a heroine....she is Jack's daughter, she should be getting into alot of mischief...I would put her with Andrew Donovan that would piss off Chad and Theresa..Theresa and Chad would team up  to break them up, but would wind up falling in love..I hate that they are going to saddle her with a baby...

I don't think having new writers will change anything.  Ken Corday is still in charge, they have changed out writers before, and Higley has written for Days before.  Higley was part of the brain trust who thought it would be a good idea to have Sami shoot EJ in the head.  The original script had EJ trying to kill himself.

 

I know PR (Bo) and SN (Patch) are supposed to return for the 50th, but I wonder if Higley being back will affect Alison Sweeney's or anyone else's decision to return.

 

I've been watching Days since the Bill/Laura/Mickey, Julie/Susan, etc. SLs.  There have been times when I was like WTH is going on, but I don't remember everything being this completely boring, repetitive and one-note before.

 

At this point, I like Sonny and Theresa, and I give all the credit to FS and JL.  If Kate kills Clyde and Stefano, and finally admits Sami is her true love, I'll like Kate again mostly because of LK.

Has there been any news about NBC developing a new game show or talk show? I don't think they would cancel Days until they felt confident they had something viable to replace it.

Their have been rumors for years that NBC wants to add a fifth hour of "Today" to give it a presence in the afternoon. They already have the studio and a large pool of on-air talent, so I imagine they could get the show up and running quickly.

I think it's only a matter of time until Days falls below 2 mil total viewers, and all three women's demos contain to hit new lows. So while NBC might not replace it outright, affiliates might stsrt to send it to other slots or sister stations as my affiliate has done twice briefly.

When GW first started on the show, he was sort of comatose (or subtle? take your pick). 

 

Now he's completely gone the other way in terms of acting-style. He was even over-the-top when he was trying to listen in on John's conversation with Tori -- so much so that his head looked weird on top of his body.  I don't think I've seen an acting style change that much  in an actor on a soap before.

The show has neglected to create friendships between different characters...I think Theresa would be good with Wilson ...She is Will's cousin, she could teach him a thing or two about schemes....Sonny and Will need gay friends... I know the show does not want too much gay characters, but one or two would be good for them.. Especially Will, who is new to the gay world and got married so young...Lucas would be good with Eric...Kate would be good with Eve...Nicole and Sonny would be good as well and it would piss off Victor...Guiding light was good at creating and maintaining friendships between different characters..Roger and Maureen were awesome together....

Was Paul born during the time when Marlena was the devil? That was the only time I can remember John actively being a priest (though I can never remember much of John's back-story), and that seems to be the era when Will was just a baby (and I assume Paul is the same age as Will). 

 

But if we go with this time period, none of this story about Paul makes sense to me. I don't remember John traipsing around the world hitting on Asian women (or women of any other ethnicities). I just remember Marlena the devil chasing him around everywhere, including in the shower.

It would even better if the writers linked his breakdown to the time that Will felt that his family was under the siege and took dangerous measures to protect his family by shooting EJ. Will never got any psychological help for trying to kill EJ.  History would repeat itself. Will would try to kill Sparkle, and  would injure him. This would put Marlena at odds with John. While Will is in the hospital, Lucas takes Arianna away from Sonny blaming him and Sparkle for Will's mental breakdown, especially if Paulson are together...Adrienne would run interference between Sonny and her boyfriend Lucas.

 

Angry at Lucas for sleeping with his wife, Justin vows to help Sonny regain custody of Arianna. Rafe would support Lucas believing that Sparkle has created upheaval in his niece's life. While Gaby in prison would want Sonny to get custody because  of the custody agreement....Victor would be trying to use the Kiriakis influence to get custody for Sonny; he did  it for Philip in the past for Claire. ...so, in your scenario, Will trying to kill Paul would be...Paul and Sonny's fault, not Will's?

What year(s) was that when Marlena was possessed?  I just barely remember any of that.

94/95.  I remember her levitating on Christmas. God, those were good times for me.

 

I must have missed the voiceover that told us that the part of Will Horton was now being played by William Shatner. What was up with GW yesterday? I've got to say, though, that the over-acting made him entertaining. Not necessarily in a good way, but I watched.
