I dunno. He was nice and all, but I don't see anyone in this cast lighting the world on fire with demands for a return trip. If anyone, probably the show would ask Andy (God help us) because they clearly think he's great TV. And maybe Sue. And, a longshot, but possibly Jon Lovett for pure celeb status.

I could see Jeff pushing hard to get Kyle back, he loves the challenge beasts.

I was remembering Gabe's quote from his exit interview where he was absolutely positive he'd be asked to return and that if he didn't, someone should get fired.

I don't know why Gabe thought he was so fascinating that he would be called back. He was somewhat interesting but certainly not Season 50 Legends-worthy. Not even close.

I really liked Kyle and wanted him to win, but ...

Producers have over 700 former players to choose from for Season 50 and the only way I could see him being chosen to fill one of maybe 20 slots available would be if he had continued to win challenges and won. A very nice guy but still not enough of a stand out to be chosen over some amazing players, athletes, wackos and schemers from the past.

So the next three vote-offs are Genevieve, Sam, and Andy. In that order unless Immunity throws it off. The four-way alliance of Sue, Rachel, Teeny and Caroline is tight, and with any brains, they'll stick together. Sue is the outsider, but they need her to keep a majority for now. And I don't see the core group breaking away for now. They seem to understand they can run to the end if they play it smart.

Then the four of them will battle for the final three spots.

The only fly in the ointment is Sue, the other three won't flip. Sue might decide to pull a blindside and vote with G/S/A, and create a 4-3 majority. Maybe vote off Rachel? But Sue & Caroline seemed to make up, and I don't see her going off at this point. But if anyone is going to do it, it has to be this week, while you can still create a 4-3 majority.

Makes sense…perhaps Rachel should use her advantage next week to block any potential move.

It remains to be seen how tight the "Underdog Alliance" might be. So far as we've been shown, Sue and Caroline had been tight but it was strained because Caroline didn't let Sue know Gabe was a target. They seemingly made up, but who knows?

IIRC, Rachel told Sue about having an idol, but Sue didn't reciprocate that trust.

As far as we know, Teeny doesn't know about either idol.

There's going to be a temptation to backstab the alliance and to stand out, because they do not want to be perceived as coasting to the end on similar strategies to the other people next to them.

Right this second, no one has a particularly impressive Survivor Resume IMO, and they have to know it.

It's entirely possible someone will say that it's time to break up Caroline and Sue, and that the non-target will go along with it.

Every year for this episode I feel compelled to pay tribute to the greatest SURVIVOR promo of all time. As we know the show for many years aired on Thursdays and early on they would do a “so far on Survivor clip show” for the holiday but then they started airing on Thanksgivings and that gave them the legendary promo, “As you sit down to Thanksgiving dinner this year see what the castaways are eating!” And then it was cut to a gross food challenge!

Gross food challenge IMO was a tentpole to the runaway success early on. We got a ghost of it a couple weeks ago but I still long to see the ENTIRE tribe have doing the dance of disgust as they try to force down live larvae or some other hideous culinary nightmare. Overblow PC killed it off of course but the memories remain.

I couldn't disagree more.  The food challenges were something I bypassed.  I am not entertained by watching people vomiting or trying to avoid doing it (The Challenge: take note!).

At least in the first season or so I think the TRIED to pretend it was local delicacies, but the last one had that old stand-by balut.  While eating disgusting things might have been, in theory,  a part of the game at one point, by now it has nothing to do with the game of Survivor, and the winner of challenge is just the person who knows how to open their throats and bypass the gag reflex.

Still love the auction, though.  Glad they've brought it back.

We’ve been seeing the jury come in all serious and upset. Wonder how the jury walks in next week with Kyle being added.  Do they come in the same?  Lol I’ll be interested in seeing Kyle’s po’d look.

I don't think he'll have one!  I've seen every episode of Survivor and don't remember ever tearing up at an ouster, but oh well - he made the jury, and that's what everyone hopes for!

I'm not sure which I would prefer: if Andy voted Genevieve because he thought that he was successfully leading a blindside of her or if Andy was hedging against the possibility that Kyle did in fact have an idol

Hahaha I'm definitely hoping it was #1!!

Sol's outfit made him look like he just stepped away from bartending poolside at the Sandals resort in Jamaica.

Hee hee after last week I was wondering what he'd wear tonight!  I'll be looking for his next outfit over Kyle's face next week 😂

Damn, they shot Old Yeller.

Once they dragged Caroline (Who?) out from under the shelter and into the spotlight, I figured she would be this week’s casualty. If they’re trying to make me care about her, it’s a little too late.

I understand Andy’s probability theory, but calculating the odds of a 4-game streak is pointless. The only thing that matters is the odds in each individual challenge, and that not only resets each time, it varies based on type of challenge and number of competitors. I don’t think even Andy’s superior mega-brain has the wattage for those advanced calculations.

But it’s all moot now, because THEY SHOT OLD YELLER.  I’ll miss that big gangly pup.

It makes me wonder if the producers said something to him that made him think he'd definitely be invited back. They might have liked him more than we did for whatever reason.

Nope.  Media thread had a link to his interview.  He said something about he just made that up on the spot.  But he did seem to think he was all that in the interview too.  Production didn't say anything to him.  It was entirely in his own head from start to finish.

Kyle was the smart vote. While not totally dominating the challenges, he is strong enough that it's not a surprise when he wins. I did think the Genevieve vote had merit though, at least more than when Sol went home the last time Kyle was vulnerable. As someone said, Kyle if left in the game was going to stay in the shelter, tend the fire, and talk about Shania. Genevieve, though not the threat she seems to think she is, is still someone who might convince some people.

I don't think anyone but Sam is thinking "With Kyle gone, now Sam is the challenge beast."

Looking forward to the next episode starting with Sue talking about how she finally got revenge on Kyle for writing down her name.

On another note, even though I am a man, I'm actually tickled pink to see an endgame heavy with so many women!  We're at the F7, and a whopping five of them are women (well, physically, though one doesn't currently identify as such)!  Only two men are left, and from what I can see, neither has much win equity with this jury, which makes me think that one of the women will take this season, for sure.

Rachel told Sue she had an advantage "block a vote". She hasn't told anyone about her idol.

Mea culpa. That does, though, go to show that there's not yet anything I'd call tightness among the Underdog Alliance if each has an immunity idol that the other doesn't know about.

Which, of course, good on both of them for not blabbing immediately about their respective idols unlike recent seasons where it seemed like everyone went just short of putting up a neon sign saying "I've got an idol in my pocket."

Andy with his beautiful teeth and his fabulous hair lives to see another day.  He’s a mathematical genius on top of that.

Teeny with their lovely eyes and porcelain skin with no visible pores live to see another day.

Kyle with his kind eyes and sweet smile.  Fare thee well if there was a Mr. Congeniality you would surely win. But alas the tribe has spoken.

Uh . . . what's wrong with Rachel?  I can see why Genevieve bothers some people, but not why Rachel does.

She totally turned her back on Sol like it was nothing.  If she protected him with her idol, they could have made another alliance with Sam, Teeny, and try to recruit Kyle to get rid of the rest.  I guess the only likeable person left is Teeny, so hopefully she wins.

Teeny reminds me of someone or something and it is driving me mad. The closest I can get to is a plush velveteen stuffed puppy. Her gameplay is mostly running scared and flashing her big chocolatey puppy dog eyes at the camera, but she is very endearing.

Now that Sol and Kyle have gone, all the energy has gone out of the season. I really hope the so-called underdog alliance turns on each other and switches things up, for a more interesting end game.

Lol, agreed. Frankly, I think Sue is actually the next big challenge threat with Kyle gone, she's gone deep in quite a few of the individual challenges.

Teeny is definitely getting the close but no cigar edit, lots of airtime, but I don't get the sense that there's a path to a win there.

Sad to see Kyle go but just a reminder (for those working out the stats) that his second individual Immunity win was a default, because technically Teeny and Genevieve outlasted him - thereby winning immunity for their whole team. Kyle won individual immunity from the losing team.

Well, when they divide immunity up like that, there's really no point in the last person continuing to do the challenge after the rest of their team has fallen. The 2 who outlasted him were still competing against each other for immunity.

Was there a food reward attached? Sometimes it'll be the team with at least one person still standing wins food for the teams, but I don't remember how this challenge was set up.

This was about Rachael.  I think it would have been the most stupid move possible if she had used HER idol on Sol or anybody else.

Sol was my favorite but Rachael is playing to win the game, not to help Sol win the game.  It was way too early to burn her idol on some long range plan and a theoretically possible another alliance which would stay together at most for one tribal at that point.

She was targeted just before.  She needed to lay low at that point.  She needed the "save yourself" card up her sleeve.  Making a big splash using an idol on someone else that early would just make her the prime target again and she would not have the idol for protection.

Agreed, there was really no upside for Rachel in that kind of move. Not to mention, Sol gave Rachel the advantage without her knowledge or input, so it was a gamble on his part to make a move that might pay dividends, it's not like they mutually entered into an alliance plan that she then reneged on or anything.

Excellent breakdown, and very good points.  I didn't even think about how early it was.  Well, if the damn horse whisperer didn't target Sol, way too early, we wouldn't even have this situation.
