That is truly scary. It's like we have Sheldon Cooper behind Trump's "throne". And even Sheldon had more of a conscience.

Let’s not insult Sheldon that way. Whatever his faults, he was a man of science. He would never spread misinformation to undermine science and medical facts. Plus, he never self-diagnosed himself as autistic.

I've meant to add about Musk that I find it appaling that some people in his orbit try to explain it with his autism.

I understand if they want to argue that it wasn't a Nazi salute. (Not understand understand it, just that it's their right to do that). I don't know why he would turn around, look at the audience and only then make the exact same gesture again because of what he was saying when he didn't address the people who were behind him at any other point in the speech. But that's a matter of a difference in opinion.

Blaming it on a disability, though, is feeding, breeding and encouraging biases as a result and I find it wrong on so many levels.

Given that Trump mocked a disabled reporter back in 2015 or 2016 and is said to have mused if the disabled child of a family member may be better off dead, I shouldn't be surprised that people in his orbit would go that far. Still, it's just so unscrupulous and all for their own, personal gain.

I have a friend who has Asperger's and I feel like apologizing to her.

For those who didn't hear the audio, Musk was saying from my heart (touching his heart) to your heart (gesturing towards the audience on both sides, hence the double gesture).

I heard it, and saw the clip in full on TV last night.

It was a freaking Nazi salute. Your party is inflitrated by white suprmeacists and neo-Nazis. This is a fact. They support Trump in droves.

He knew exactly what he was doing and who he was talking to. Stop BS-ing this.

Not even three days in and they are already defending Nazi salutes. Some denying it others glorying in it. He hasn't whipped inflation or ended the war in Ukraine - day one promises - but he has reminded us of what it was like four years ago. Something awful every single day.

It's funny to me that the right is telling us to get over the "gesture" Musk made when the right lost their minds over the Obama's giving each other "terrorist" fist bumps.

I have a nephew who is autistic.  Last time I checked he isn't a fascist or Nazi.
