He won because he promised to close the border. That's the #1 issue we had, not the economy. Tariffs screwed with the 401K, not the economy as it was. Well, you've listed that as a reason in some of your posts. The media en masse made a big thing about that after the election (price of eggs, remember?). Trump himself ran on the very idea that he was going to fix our economy. The border was an issue for the right, yes, but everyone kept insisting the economy was the big reason after the election. Quote Do NOT put us all in that box. No one I know feels that way. Tough. If people keep defending and voting for someone who's out here treating immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, and women as Trump does, I'm going to assume it's because they're okay with and support that treatment. Or at the very least, it doesn't bother them the way it should. Plus, you're happy to make assumptions about the left as a whole (see your "open border" comment up above), so if you get to do that... peacheslatour May 8 Share May 8 From Aleteia I Media this is from 2023- Archbishop Robert Francis Prevost, a 68-year-old Augustinian religious of American nationality, created cardinal on September 30, 2023, exactly eight months after being named Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops. Pope Francis had defied expectations by choosing the bishop of Chiclayo, Peru, to head this powerful dicastery responsible for selecting bishops of historically Christian territories. His two years at the head of the Augustinian province of Our Lady of Good Counsel (1999-2001) were the subject, 20 years later, of fierce criticism from the American press. The issue was his attitude in a case of sexual abuse of minors involving a member of his congregation. In September 2000, in his capacity as provincial, Father Prevost had given his approval to Father James Ray, a religious convicted of sexual abuse of minors and sentenced to nine years' imprisonment, to stay at an Augustinian priory near an elementary school. 1 4 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/273/#findComment-8656643

And for those that do have health insurance it never covers everything. And they are always wanting to cover less while charging more. My father died in 1991 after a lengthy hospital stay. He had Medicare and a supplemental. Between them they covered 100% of everything. Same with my husband when he died in 2012. I can almost guarantee that would not be the case now. My hospital stay was six or seven days. If I stayed in a regular, four person room, it would have cost me $0. Opted for private and thank goodness we have insurance for that. As I've mentioned before, we got a taste of what it's like for Americans when my son was born and was in the hospital for 11 days (NICU/Special Care Unit stay since he was 35 weeks and had trouble eating) as we had trouble getting him provincial coverage without a birth certificate (surrogacy + donor conception. It shouldn't have been an issue, but it was for some reason). It took us three, maybe four weeks to get our money back. At least we knew going in that we WOULD get everything back! 3 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/273/#findComment-8656687

A video showing a Minnesota woman at a playground last week openly admitting to using a racist slur against a Black child has garnered millions of views. But what's been equally appalling for some is that the woman has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in crowdfunds. In the video, a man in Rochester, a city roughly 90 miles (145 kilometers) south of Minneapolis, confronts the woman for calling a 5-year-old boy the N-word. The woman appears to double-down on the racist term and flips off the man confronting her with both of her middle fingers. The woman, who could not be reached for comment, has since amassed over $700,000 through Christian fundraising platform GiveSendGo for relocation expenses because of threats she received over the video. The fundraising page said she used the word out of frustration because the boy went through her 18-month-old child's diaper bag. The Associated Press has not verified this assertion. “I called the kid out for what he was,” she wrote, adding that the online videos have “caused my family, and myself, great turmoil.” Yes this is exactly what I was referring to. I wonder how many copycats we will see. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/273/#findComment-8656705

“I called the kid out for what he was,” she wrote, adding that the online videos have “caused my family, and myself, great turmoil.” May a sick camel sit in her breakfast and then get up. 3 2 5 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/273/#findComment-8656707

If he grew up in north neighborhood, most likely he prefers the Cubs. If he grew up in the southern neighborhoods, most likely the White Sox. 2 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150441-chit-chat-the-feels/page/273/#findComment-8656716
