There is nothing wrong with someone stuttering, and there is nothing wrong with Kamala going to the Met Gala.

And once again: I don't want to hear anyone saying that children should go without. Especially when they aren't taxing the billionaires first, and these tariffs are a big part of the reason that Christmas could really be cancelled. Those billionaires could ensure that no kids go hungry, but they apparently need a lot of "toys" and money.

This is the problem.  A few people have more and more and most people have less and less.  The income gap and wealth gap are becoming wider.  These billionaires want it all and Trump and most of the GOP is trying to give it to them.

Well, you've listed that as a reason in some of your posts. The media en masse made a big thing about that after the election (price of eggs, remember?). Trump himself ran on the very idea that he was going to fix our economy. The border was an issue for the right, yes, but everyone kept insisting the economy was the big reason after the election.

Tough. If people keep defending and voting for someone who's out here treating immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, and women as Trump does, I'm going to assume it's because they're okay with and support that treatment. Or at the very least, it doesn't bother them the way it should.

Also Trump has stated more than once we will get Greenland one or the other and yesterday I read that the US is stepping up our spy operations there

The Danish foreign minister has asked the US Ambassador to come and explain 

When PM Carney told Trump - to his face this week - that Canada is not for sale and never will be. Trump replied “never say never “

Anyone else see Father Sarducci on Colbert?  He talked about Kennedy Jr.  He came out with a trademark cigarette in hand and said Kennedy has okayed smoking on TV as long as it's menthol: “If you have polio or you don’t want to get it, smoke the menthol”.

It was funny but for a second I actually thought he was being serious because nothing coming out of this administration surprises me anymore.

I had asked someone on another site what about all the women who are killed by their partners (either husbands or boyfriends), and all the person said was, "What does that have to do with anything?"  

I live in Georgia, so the Laken Riley case was often in our news. It was a tragedy that she was murdered, and I'm glad the guy is in prison for life.   But there are people killed every day by American citizens, and beyond one short news story (if at all), we don't hear about it that often.  Why are those victims less important to the right?

Perhaps because it doesn't fit into their narrative of the scary, brown undocumented committing homicides and violent crimes on every corner, as they'd like you to believe.

This case became national news because of the unspoken rule that has governed the United States since the founding of Jamestown--white women are the property of white men. They are the only ones who are allowed to assault, kill, and even whistle at white women. The publicity surrounding Laken's case was in part to remind men of color of their place.

Asking someone what their hypothetical policy would be is very different than asking someone to explain how something fundamental to how their job works. (And for the record, Kamala's answer was terrible).

And really, Trump doesn't have the power to issue tariffs at all under the Constitution (art. I, §. 8)

Some good news, with Gates donating the bulk of his fortune to a better world. Also, Musk really should spend less time daydreaming of Mars. Pour that energy into renovating Hell since he's actually headed there, no rocket necessary.

This really is a problem.  I think part of it is law enforcement doesn't take the disappearances of women of color seriously. They write them off as runaways.  Also I blame the media.  They cover what they think people want to know about it. What they think will sell papers or draw viewers in. And mainstream media is still by and large mostly white. Especially in editorial positions.

Maybe not positive from your perspective, but definitely positive for his supporters. And yes, it DOES effect everyday life...especially for the families of victims killed by non-citizens.

Sorry to say, but our country is already bankrupt, metaphorically speaking.

As the president he is responsible for what people do on his behalf. In my opinion he should have apologised on behalf of the jerk that did make it, because it was obviously rude and offensive. I say this as a humanist and also an atheist. I was offended. He rarely takes responsibility for anything. You’d think so, but listen carefully. He never knew that. Huh. Too late now. What? Nevermind. Lets take a minute to dance to ‘ymca’.

When asked about it he said Catholics don’t have a sense of humor 

Some say this has nothing to do with religion but I beg to differ it does at least to me because this just another thing that he shows no respect for

You know what I find questionable? on the gofundme website someone can be in the hospital on their last leg, proof given and documents to show diagnosis....NO ONE donates. A post about a cat or dog?? Lots of comments and a couple grand raised above the goal. Some poor woman on there had her car stolen and I told her "should of woven a dog into your story. people loves dogs more than people". Sad, but true.

Even if it has nothing to do with religion it is still offensive. People cared Pope Francis had died.  It is a fuck you to all of them.

 What I find questionable (abhorrent, actually): That a citizen of the richest country on earth needs a gofundme to afford medical treatment. The obligation to fund health care rests with the government, not the kindhearted soul who donates $20 for a sick pup or an injured kitten.

And for those that do have health insurance it never covers everything. And they are always wanting to cover less while charging more.  My father died in 1991 after a lengthy hospital stay. He had Medicare and a supplemental.  Between them they covered 100% of everything. Same with my husband when he died in 2012.  I can almost guarantee that would not be the case now.

But I would rather see people start gofundme's for medical bills and pet expenses than some racist cashing in on her racism.

This!  I had surgery last year to remove a tumour.  My hospital stay was six or seven days.  If I stayed in a regular, four person room, it would have cost me $0.  Opted for private and thank goodness we have insurance for that.  As I've mentioned before, we got a taste of what it's like for Americans when my son was born and was in the hospital for 11 days (NICU/Special Care Unit stay since he was 35 weeks and had trouble eating) as we had trouble getting him provincial coverage without a birth certificate (surrogacy + donor conception.  It shouldn't have been an issue, but it was for some reason).  It took us three, maybe four weeks to get our money back.  At least we knew going in that we WOULD get everything back!

I don't like donating on gofundme because the website takes a cut of the donations. I will donate directly to the person because I know they will get the full amount. I also donate to our SPCA because they do good work for the animals, and I do love animals more than (most!) people.
