Now I know where Monty Python sourced the "Rabbit of Caerbannog" for the Holy Grail.

This episode was good! I didn’t know V-ed up animals would be so funny to watch.

The animals are strong enough to blast through a human body and shred a bull but not a wooden barn door… interesting.

Always nice to watch Stan Edgar.

I imagine the barn stopped the animals because they don’t have more momentum than was given by their mass.  Why did the sheep become carnivorous? Or were they just repressed and finally able to vent their anger?

I’m not sure why our team didn’t collect fluids from the dead animals since there is a chance they are viable sources of the live virus. If it us anaerobic there should be some in the heart, etc?

They should have let Edgar stay free, kept him as more of an ally than an enemy.

theories about the V and Hughie’s Mom being an hallucination, totally wrong! Dad turned out to be Kitty Pryde, but the resolution was touching. The family got closure, so giving Hughie’s dad the V worked out, except for the people he killed. I’m surprised they left them alone to kill dad, but maybe fear. I wonder if the CIA cleaned up for them. There would be a lot of paperwork.

hughie had a cat named Jar Jar!

Homelander is trying to double down on being a father. Ryan rewards him with a first psychotic smile. I suppose they got a snack after at Nathans.

That's no ordinary sheep! Look at the size of those teeth, look at the bones!! Giving them V not only gave them super powers, but it made them hungry for flesh. Wild!

I really did miss Stan Edgar, his "how are you people not all dead" interactions with everyone were great.

The scary thing is, Homelander really is trying to be a good dad and he does care about Ryan, its just that he comes at everything from such a warped point of view. He seems to have realized that telling Ryan that he's better than everyone isn't getting through to him, but selling him on punishing bad people and helping good people might do it.

My working theory is that the V made them smart enough to realize the shift in power dynamics and the food chain. 😂

Admittedly, the ending with Hughie and his dad got me a little weepy. (I had my own Jar-Jar situation not too long ago 😢)

While I don't especially like that lady executive (forget the name, the one who lost her hair) I was glad to see her get back at her former submissive, while covering up for A-Train. Hope the "leak" question is put to bed now.

That's how you train a monster -- start 'em young and start with an altruistic angle. Somebody save that kid!

Faulty Logic: The virus wouldn't have spread to the entirety of the dead body but would have remained at the injection site most likely only affecting the sheep that ate the meat from that site.

I couldn't tell if Cate had the use of both her hands after what happened to her on Gen V.

I feel like I missed an episode, even though I didn't.

The flying murder sheep did nothing for me. Did not care at all for all the animal gore. Can we please leave innocent animals out of this, please, show?!

So, why did Compound V give Hughie's dad the ability to walk through anything/anyone but also dementia? It makes me suspicious of Hughie's mother, since she was the one to dose him.

When Annie's power shorted out in the "rec room," I thought it meant Victoria had set up the lab with some kind of electricity blocking capabilities or something. But, no, Annie's powers just have to suck more than usual, apparently.

Hate to see the sadistic tendencies coming out in Ryan. Unpleasant.

The stroke and the brain trauma gave him dementia. The V gave him the ability to walk through solid objects.

Probably having performance anxiety from all the stressful things that happened recently in her life, plus she kind of lose control the last time she used her powers which is probably struck in the back of her mind.

Yes, the dead body has no beating heart.  I assume in the context of the story we have to assume they did something else that worked. Sprayed it on the body, mixed with something. Maybe. And that worked. Or that they waited until one exploded and the rest ate that one.

I wonder if the growth coming out of the rabbit is what is happening to Butcher.

I thought V was supposed to heal any injuries, which should include damage from stroke, but I guess not. I'm just bummed because I wanted Hughie's dad to stay in the show as a supporting character.

Maybe it takes time. Not everyone has fast healing factor like Kimoko. They didn't have time with Hughie 's Dad because he was dangerous.

3 brain examples and V: Sage, Butcher and Hdad. Sage's brain heals. Hdad healed from a braindead state to fairly functional dementia; the issue was the lack of control over the teleportation and the stress from that which increased his confusion.

Butcher is the wildcard. I think the worms are his cancer. Think about the bunny; those worm worms on V. The bunny is the clue that V transformed his cancer as well as him. Maybe they are symbiotic now.

Some of those fake posters were homages to real movies - the Black Noir one was "The Soldier" with Ken Wahl.  They even cribbed the tagline.

Poster

It's pretty obvious Butcher's FBI pal is a hallucination, right?

Probably a minority opinion, but "Jabberwocky" is one of the most overrated poems of all time.  Childish made-up tripe.

I think that is the point of the poem, it is farce.

It does seem obvious he is an hallucination. Right? I wonder if the real one shows up.

I'm probably the one person in the world who isn't a fan of Giancarlo Esposito. He always seems to play the exact same character - a "too cool for school" badass. And he seems to pop up in just about every show I watch. I'm just sick of him. The only time I ever sort of liked him was when he played the magic mirror in Once Upon a Time.

Then there's Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I can't see him as anyone other than Negan. And I can't stand Negan. And much like Esposito, he seems to be typecast a lot. His characters always seem to have a predilection for crass language. His character on this show doesn't seem to be doing much. Feels like unnecessary stunt casting so far.

Can we put to rest the theory that Hughie's mom is an hallucination? The nurse touched her and said "excuse me" when she walked past her in the doorway.

God I hope nothing of consequence came out of that show. I couldn't make it past a few episodes, it was so terrible.

Recently saw Giancarlo Esposito in The Gentlemen on Netflix - - exactly the same character.

Maybe the theme of the season is repetition: the Vought convention hit the same socially offensive notes as before.

The farm adventure seemed to be staged a little awkwardly, trying to give everyone something to do and say .. but at least they had the forethought to bring extra no-name characters to be cannon fodder for the killer sheep.

While I don't completely disagree about Giancarlo (tho for a really off-brand performance from him, check out the 2020 film Unpregnant) I still enjoy watching him. But I couldn't agree more about JDM. I have no trouble separating actor from role, usually, but  I despised Negan so very much that the role has completely ruined JDM for me. I quit The Walking Dead because of him (no huge loss). Some try to tell me that that just shows what a great actor he is, because you're supposed to hate Negan, but no. It's exactly as you said above: he's the same guy an awful lot, and without much nuance or distinction between performances, and I just can't stand his face. Which I'm sure is unfair, cuz the actor is reportedly a really nice guy but whatever.

I can watch people blow up and die on this show in a million different ways and it doesn't much bother me, but I had to look away from the animal carnage.

Though Simon Pegg did get to me. RIP Hughie Sr.

I was thinking about this sort of thing the other day. In this case the animal carnage was so over the top I was okay with it, but in general, I can't stand violence, especially towards fluffy animals. If I see a punchy, kicky fight I tend to look away and mute it until I think it's over. But I love The Boys which is basically all violence all the time, except for short naked/sex breaks that also tend to involve violence so... Thing is, it's such over the top violence, I could watch a million heads blow up, or Hughie's dad rip hearts out left and right but I can't handle watching someone get punched in the face, or the worst, kicked when they are laying down. That, I just have the worst reaction to. Just writing about it is making me wince.

I was disappointed to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan show up. I know he's a Kripke fave but I have never liked him. I've never seen The Walking Dead so it's not because of that character. He's just one of those people I don't like watching. I think it's partly because I know people adore him and I don't get why so I just dislike him more to compensate. lol (I'm not a rational person. I've come to terms with it.)

"Any" is probably a bit of a stretch. In reality it's probably just "most". Hughie's dad was braindead. Considering that it did a remarkable job at healing.

Stormfront was at one point immortal, something not many supes have, not even Homelander, but all the V in her blood couldn't heal the injuries Ryan gave her. So I guess there are limits.

I also was hoping that Simon Pegg would get a little more to do with V in his system. Instead they just killed him, those bastards!

Yes, my theory is debunked Oh well. It was more interesting IMO than the apparent reality of Hughie's mom being a vanilla character who disappeared and returned and gave Big Hughie V for no organic-seeming reasons,

I honestly thought stormfront would heal. It would just take a long time.

I honestly thought I ws the only person who did that kind of thing. "Oh everyone just LOVES Solas? Well I just HATE the big egg", that's me all day long and twice on Sunday.

Flying killer sheep was a bit much but this episode was a big improvement.  Giancarlo Esposito instantly elevates anything he's in.  The Hughie's dad scenes were horrifying.  A-Train saves himself from disaster as his internal conflict grows.  Frenchie's conscience gets the better of him.  Interesting development in the relationship between Homelander and Ryan.  Good plot movement with Samir and the virus.

Just started watching this show and binged all the seasons. Just finished this episode. Sad that Hugh Sr had to die and I wished he could’ve been saved.
Homelander is a terrible person but they made him that way. I don’t think Ryan will become like his father though.
