Wow, that's shocking. I don't believe she would return because of how the media treats The View these days, but I can't believe they've never even asked her. Then again, I guess it wouldn't make sense for them to since Whoopi's never shown any interest in leaving this show. I believe the only reason Meredith left was because of some sexist / ageist remarks behind-the-scenes towards her when it came time to sign again, basically that she was old and had nowhere else to go anyway...

they also talked about her leaving on that episode. Joy and Meredith basically concluded the show didn't even fight for her. the pay gap between the view and today was huge yet the view didn't even really fight for her/offer some big package. I could be misremembering but that is what I think was said. Meredith sounded like she didn't want to leave if she didn't have to.

which is annoying given how much they are willing to throw at Whoopi to be there 4 whole days a week lol

Joy can fuck off with the "they had 1 job to do, protect the queen" shit as well. She's the queen & nobody is going to tell her she can't see her kids because one of them "might" have Covid at some stage. Grow up Joy.

Haha! She's the Queen of England, not a Queen Bee protected by thousands of worker bees. I doubt that her staff could make her do anything she doesn't want to do at this point. As far as anyone can see, she still has all her faculties and has been queen longer than almost anyone, so she can take whatever precautions she wants or needs to. If "they" (whoever that might be) tried to keep her "protected" by restricting access, I'm sure the story would be that she's in her dotage and is being kept from sight for some nefarious reason.

It's legit. I looked it up.  I will never understand people's (gross) fascination with feet.

Why would Meredith have wanted to leave a cushy job where she was on air for one hour a day to a job where she had to get up super early and travel and have to be available for breaking news?  I mean don't get me wrong the Today show was a step up for her but I do think Meredith would have been content to stay at the View.  The show was never the same after she left.  I don't think ABC ever really understood why viewers tuned in.  Especially longtime viewers.  They got rid of Joy and then had to bring her back.  And yet they keep Whoopi.

Sunny is off with her holier than tho shit within the first 5 minutes. She has to be the most self righteous person on tv & is certainly the most annoying. You just know her husband is dipping it in someone else because nobody could live with that shit day in & day out without some relief.

Joy can fuck off with the "they had 1 job to do, protect the queen" shit as well. She's the queen & nobody is going to tell her she can't see her kids because one of them "might" have Covid at some stage. Grow up Joy.

To the bolded: I doubt that. He'd have to get into witness protection because he wouldn't have anything to dip anywhere for very long.

As for Joy, I don't believe she was implying the Queen should be locked in a room by herself somewhere.... It was a one-liner mocking the Prime Minister for the fact that his decision-making can't even keep the Queen safe, much less the country at large, lol.

@GHScorpiosRule: Whoopi's eyeroll got me, too, and then Joy describing Sunny like a cartoon princess. I can't stop seeing it.

They also didn't have a black or latina woman on their cast to play her.  And the black men pushed back on playing women.

At this point Sunny and the panel are in on the gag about Sunny's views on infidelity.   They all treat it as a big joke now.   They purposely asked Sunny about her views on Camilla just for her to do her schtick about cheating.

Yes.  The Wendy Williams show will officially end in June.   They are keeping the staff and will rename it for Sherry in the fall.

Sunny, give it a rest about Camilla not following the "Covid rules" because she doesn't follow rules being with Charles when he was married.

As a former federal prosecutor, which you endlessly say about yourself, you should know there is no relation between Covid  rules and having an affair.

Sunny gets on my nerves more and more each day.

First of all why any of them thought it was OK to put their bare feet on a table upon which they have their cups and and their phones and whatever else is beyond me.  Bare feet is meant for the privacy of your own home or a walk on the beach.  And second of all yes Joy seemed genuinely shocked her cohosts were also on Wiki Feet with a higher score than her.

And what was that nonsense about the woman who asked Reddit about keeping a secret (which actually had nothing to do with her future husband) being pure for her husband to be? The woman graduated college quite a few years ago so how pure does Sunny think this woman can even pretend to be?

As I’ve said before, this show is not interested in discussing any race outside of those on the panel. On very rare occasion they will throw in a mention of Asians and Native Americans, but it will never be a central, continuing topic. Even the holocaust/race debacle was put to rest after one episode. Doubt we will hear more about that. It’s especially sad since they are in NYC where there is a large concentration of all races but they choose to overlook so many.

If we are talking brute strength, then yes. You can't really compare Biden with Putin.  One was democratically elected and one is a dictator. But like @Welshman in Ca said there are similarities between Putin and Trump.

I thought today's show was a little better than the past two days, although I personally thought Monday and Tuesday were still worth seeing for the humor. I agreed with Joy that the U.S. is fast transforming into what we were fighting against in WWII, and also what she said about the gall that Carlson, Trump, etc. aren't merely advocating isolationism, but outright praising Putin for taking over a democracy by force.

Whoopi had the best moment today though, when they played the clip of Trump praising Putin for invading a free country and how this wouldn't have happened if he was in charge: "That's because you would've sold Ukraine down the river" (or something along those lines).

That makes up for what she said yesterday suggesting Biden talk to SCOTUS to convince them to be less partisan.  I'm surprised that didn't get some media attention.  She has said some stupid things in her time but this ranks up there as one of the worst.

Oh man, I'm more than a prude than Sunny when it comes to strip clubs. I'll probably get some poo for this post, but oh well.

My opinion on seeing strippers, if you're single, "so what? Who cares?"

HOWEVER, if you're in a relationship, especially married, I find going to strip clubs disrespectful, and yes, I see a difference between men going to strip clubs and women seeing Chippendales.

How does Sunny who is jealous over everything all cool with women taking off their clothes and trying to get Manny going? Isn't she the same person who freaked out over something as innocent as a birthday cake?! It's always amazed me how the same women won't like their SOs to have female friends, receive texts of any kind from other women, or admit they find other women pretty see no big deal with some stranger's tits in their husband's or boyfriend's face.

There may be some male strippers where things get raunchy, but my friends and I have never seen them. It sounds like they're the exception, not the norm, unlike female dancers. Where I live, there aren't even male strip clubs. I have been to a show similar to Chippendales, and it was pretty innocent. No one had their parts on anyone, and the girls were mostly laughing, not even turned on. And I know this doesn't normally happen, but I do know of men who've cheated on their partners with strippers. Never heard of a woman cheating with a Chippendale.

I haven't seen male strippers since I was in my late 40s (I'm WAY older now).  There are some city laws that govern what can and cannot be done, but OFTEN the guys will go as far as the women push.  Definitely raunchy.

It's only disrespectful if someone in the relationship considers it disrespectful.  YOU can find it disrespectful for yourself...but you probably insult others if you "disrecpect" their choices.

"Stranger" may be the key word here.

Do you mean I'd insult other couples for my different opinion or my own partner if I'm not okay with his choices? People super pro strip clubs often literally call those who aren't a fan "prude, jealous, insecure, etc." We're told we can't just see them as a mild form of cheating (depending on what happens) and disrespectful. I wouldn't be with a man who'd take it as an insult if I didn't like him going.

I should be entitled to say I just don't get it. To be clear, I don't care what other people do. If Sunny and Manny would enjoy going to strip clubs, it's no skin off my nose. Go every night and make it rain. Just trying to understand Sunny since she's often more prudish than me, and I know many women who are as well. Lots of women freak out about their partners looking at porn and whatnot for example. That doesn't really bother me as long as it's not like "why don't you look like her and do this and that?"

For me it's very different when it's real-life people, stranger or not. I am different in that a lot of women don't see the big deal with a man who has a one-night stand because it's often with someone they don't know. Anything sexual with another person for me is cheating, whether it's in or out of a strip club, with someone you've met before or not. If the only thing considered cheating to another couple is sex or stuff involving someone they know very well, that's their business. Hell, I don't care if people have open marriages and swing. Just that the couple is on the same page and honest with each other.

I'm not a fan of either personally. I get nothing out of seeing male dancers other than perhaps comedy. But I do view them differently based on my own experience and the stories from friends.

Agree with others.  Not the shows that I've seen.  The ladies discuss what's in the news.   So they've discussed the high number of missing Native American women and quite a bit on Asian American hate crimes.  During the recent affirmative action discussion the Asian American perspective was also discussed (Lisa Ling was the cohost).   Also plenty of discussions on hate crimes against Jews and Muslims.

The reason racism against blacks and latinos may be discussed more, is because it's more common how it presents in society.    While many (not all) of the hate crimes against Asians, Jews, etc are done by people labeled with mental issues or with fringe beliefs,  racist acts against black/latino people are more often done by everyday people.  Which is why people are often uncomfortable with the topic.

So many classes that should be "mandatory"!  Where will schools find all the hours in the day for them? Maybe some of the elective classes would have to be dropped to make room, but then people would complain that they couldn't study (fill in the blank). As some of the hosts said, there used to be classes like Home Economics and Shop (wood or metal) and Art and Music, but those things got eliminated to make room for more "topical" subjects. Now kids graduate without any idea of how to do practical things or know about the arts other than pop culture.

They are Black, but not Latina as far as I know. Sara or someone said they could have got Maya Rudolf to guest & play Sunny, but Sunny pointed out that Maya is not Latina (she's Black & Ashkenazi Jewish). SNL probably made the correct decision to not attempt to satirize Sunny.

What are everyone's thoughts about actors of different backgrounds portraying people they somewhat resemble? We all agree black face is offensive, as well as anything along those lines. But I've seen Maya portray people with different backgrounds and never found it offensive personally. If they know Sunny would only want to be played by a Latina and they simply want to respect that, I get it. I'm just not sure if I personally see the harm in a minority portraying another minority if there's resemblance and you're not making costume of skin. Know what I mean?

Even though it can be funny, as a woman, I'd probably be more offended by having a man constantly act as me on SNL.

I'm happy no matter which gender/ethnicity portrays which in comedy skits/sketches...as long as they're FUNNY and WELL DONE.  Examples:  Fred Armisen (1/4 Korean) as Joy (100% Italian).  Kenan Thompson as Whoopi.

I disagree with the assertion they cover all hate crimes.  Sunny is a huge proponent of bail reform so you will never see them discuss a story wherein the perpetrator is recently released on bond.  A perfect example would be the Waukesha Christmas parade attack.  A man had been released on a paltry $1,000 bond which translates to $100, for trying to run over the mother of one of his children.  Within days of his release he proceeded to break through a barricade and mow down multiple parade goers culminating in six deaths.

I specifically tuned in to The View to see if they would discuss the tragedy.  Whoopi started the show saying that the story was evolving and they would follow up on the next show (sure.)  Never happened.

Two main points - the suspect is black and the victims were white.  You will never see them discuss this scenario on the show.  Sorry but it's true.  The only time they discuss hate crimes is when the perpetrator is white or (rarely) asian and the victim is black.
