Yay, Mia Love is back. She was one of the few I genuinely liked. (Really just her and /maybe/ Jane Coaston. I liked Coaston's first day, the second day turned me off.) I thought Whoopi seemed genuine when she invited Love back at the end of the show when she guested, so I'm not surprised.

I guess they've given up on the Flashback Friday co-hosts. It's too bad the Rosie's would never come back, since Friday's are always a day when Whoopi is not present. It would be nice to see Michelle again, too. I know The View treated all three of them horribly, so I understand it, but still I would enjoy seeing them. I'm fine with not seeing any of Jedidiah, Elisabeth, McCarthy, Raven, Candace, or McCain again.

Madonna had a huge pinnochio butt installed and she is photoshopped to hell and back. The pic of her lying on her stomach under the bed was just ...stupid. She looks like that Madame doll  from the best I can tell in photos that arent filtered.  I am an old lady and I don't appreciate ageism but this isn't it. She looks foolish and it is sad. I hate to see these women do this crazy plastic surgery that makes them look terrible.     That being said, Madonna wanted to be talked about and she was. Her comparing her nips being censored to the Native American experience is the shit they should have talked about.

Jordan was fantastic for sure.  Was there something wrong with his mic in the beginning?  You can tell he's a professional and didn't let it phase him. He's a busy guy, scheduled on K&R also.  I liked Mia better this time `round.  I just hope its not round two of those we have seen already.  r.i.p. Bob Dole.  Joy made me laugh with her 'gone to the darkside' comment.

Tbh, I didn’t notice anything about Love’s voice…? She was fine to me. Probably the only one of the guest co-hosts they’ve had that I actually like, because she can give her opinion without the need to kvetch and argue over every single thing.

I’ve tried to resign myself to them picking someone I don’t care for, but she’d probably be the one I would pick if it was simply a choice of who I would like to see on the show. I hope her guesting again means she’s one of the people they’re considering. I'd like a normal show like this one again rather than the Jerry Springer-esque embarrassment of the past four years.

so could just me but I have a strong feeling they will be choosing Mia for two reasons:

a) she is not only a conservative but she is a black woman and the show is always looking for non ideological diversity as well.

b) she is conservative but she isn't a trumper and she isn't a Lincoln project republican either. not trying to equate the two but Ana or Tara Setmeyer aren't going to expand the shows ideological audience. and Since she isn't a trumper she won't enrage the already existing audience too much to lose viewers either. she also comes off just much better than Meghan or Liz did. Ngl everyone from Utah ive known even with crazy politics has been personally very kind.

I know this would make 5 hosts but I really think they need to add an Asian American host as well. Lisa has been the only one in the shows history and given the horrific last few years for Asian Americans, I think the representation is important. Maybe Juju Chang could do a Paula type arrangement, or Friday shows. they could use a journalist at the table again anyways.

PS I find the voice comments distasteful.. I know some voices are grating but only women get their voices this analyzed....

Instead of "as well," why not instead of Mia Love.  There are already two White women and two Black woman.  If a fifth is necessary, an Asian should be considered next.

well they haven't tested any Asian American conservative cohosts. they clearly want first and foremost a conservative host.

I think they would also prefer someone in their 30s or younger.   Right now they have 1 of each decade.  Sarah is in her 40s, Sunny her 50s, Whoopi 60s, and Joy 70s.   Although Mia is also in her 40s I believe.

The pool of TV ready, young, conservatives of Asian descent who is also willing to do this show is probably pretty small.

I honestly thought her voice was perfectly fine. Maybe I'm not too particular? There are speech things I find annoying though.

Long, drawn out speech with lots of pausing and uh, um over and over, very annoying. It doesn't bother me with regular folks. I know sometimes I speak too quickly or stammer when I'm anxious. But if your job is to talk, you should have done all your research and reflection before the show and speak well once it's time to do so.

I also don't care for super speedy talkers trying to get as many words as they can in a minute. I don't know if some people do this to show off or what, but you don't sound smart. You sound like you're trying to get your points across before you forget, and you're giving me a headache. Breathe.

I'm good with anything in between, which luckily applies to most of the folks on the show.

I agree about the age. The show should be for women of all ages. I'm in my 30s, so the only one who's not super far from me in age is Sara.

It's a great point about the lack of Asian hosts on The View. You'd think we would have had more than just Lisa. Between Whoopi, Sara, Joy, Sunny and Ana, we have black, white, and Latina represented. It would be great to get a young Asian woman on the show if they could find one. I just like diversity in general, and it goes beyond politics or race/ethnicity. One reason I like SE Cupp as a possible host is because she's atheist. I'm agnostic myself, and it seems like almost everyone on TV is Christian.

Since no men are competing for the empty seat I can only comment on the women’s voices. I’m sure Mia is perfectly nice but I wouldn’t want to listen to her every day.

SE Cupp's bestie is Meghan McCain.  I cannot imagine what shenanigans they'd dream up if SE got on the show.  She's also overbearing.

The times I've seen her she's been nothing like Meghan, so I don't want to hold her questionable taste in friends against her.

Meghan already gave her and blessing and was pushing for SE to get the seat on Andy Cohen. Remember her own mom guest hosted after the supposed drama quitting went down. Meghan is business first. i.e why she did that big anti view media blitz despite it only being mentioned in ONE chapter of book lol.

Cupp is better than McCain. But I definitely look at anyone who likes, much less is friends with, McCain in a certain light. It's not like she's normal, she is grade A rancid.

Oh, no, I'd rather have Ana daily over Mia or any of the other people they've tried out if that was an option. Tara, not so much. I think Ana would have it if she wanted it, which she clearly doesn't, sadly. I'd take Abby back over Mia, too, Mia is only better than the other people they've tried out. I just assumed they would pick someone argumentative though, but it could be that Whoopi will have a great deal of say in who is picked. She is the reason McCain was on this show, after all--likely the reason she's gone, too--and Whoopi seemed to like Mia from what I could tell.

Not merely "friends," but they continually use the term BESTIE.  "Sara Elizabeth" was also one of very few guests at Meghan's wedding.  Too close.  Too close for comfort--ours.

my point wasn't that Mia was better than Ana, it was that Ana isn't exactly a conservative or oppositional pundit on the show.

JORDAN FISHER ... nice to see him again.  I was surprised there was no mention that he was the WINNER of "Dancing with the Stars" (another ABC show...another DISNEY affiliation) three or four years ago.  He's a fabulous dancer.

It's been three months of the show without SWMNBN, and I'm enjoying it so much more than I did the past four years.

Whoopi has stayed engaged, there aren't moments of tension even when there is disagreement, and the whole thing is so much LIGHTER than it used to be.

Even today's show, where I didn't know the guest or guest host, was absolutely enjoyable, as most of this season's shows have been.

Definitely addition by subtraction!

And I loved Sara's hair.

I don't understand why The View would even consider what's her names best friend.  S.E. is fine but nothing so amazing. Having the connection to that former host after all the mud she's thrown seems ridiculous.  However if they do pick her I would not be shocked .

Gosh, what is with the fake hair?

They have access to professional hair dressers and still can't get it right. I'm including Sara's fake hair too.

Sarah Elizabeth Cupp does all of these personas with the same affected speech pattern that I find tiresome. I prefer people who speak in their own, real voice.

Sunny has repeatedly told us her in-laws died of COVID, and, we all know Manny’s a doctor, yet, she slams the President for making it a priority.

And, Sunny?  You sound like a broken record and it’s tiresome.

Excuse me, Sunny. I know you think that Blacks and Latinos are responsible for putting Biden into the White House, and that he OWES YOU, but guess what, there are plenty of us Whites/Caucasians that voted for him too.

One poll website says Biden voters were: 39% Voters of Color ~ 61% White    And...every vote helped.

I’d not seen him before and I thought the keyboard( ?)player was being too loud. Since I hadn’t ever seen him perform I thought he picked up on that he couldn’t be heard and was hoping someone would help . I was wondering why someone didn’t tell him / signal or talk in his ear.to dial back.  Again I hadn’t seen him so didn’t know if he was singing in a whisper ( I’m hard of hearing but hear tv fine) I’ll track him down and listen to a performance. What a delightful young  man,  and so talented.

Blah.  Now i remember why i didn't remember. The guest host.  guest.. Blah.  Did she really need to have a `gotcha' question for a rape victim?

really don't think that was a gotcha. she was only saying how ridiculous it was Ghislaine is trying to play the victim. she just had too much wording prepared and a poor delivery. not any worse than when they end a sad and inspiring segment with a legal statement abruptly.

I thought the Biden segment was decent in that you had Sunny criticizing him from the left, and Mia criticizing him from the right. I think for the first few months of the season, the panel was a bit echo chambery. this + the immigration segment last week are what is best about the view. so long as people don't throw fits like Meghan or go on incoherent ramblings I think these convos are good and fine.

Yes, it’s refreshing that they can disagree and state their views (just as we can too) without anyone throwing a tantrum. I think Sunny isn’t giving the administration enough credit but both she and Mia were right that people on both sides are more concerned about kitchen table issues.
