Andrew & Amira

Although her paperwork says she arrived without a passport, maybe it was without a VALID passport.  She could have used someone else's, or paid for a fake one.  In my simplistic lifestyle view, though, why would one get a fake passport - which would probably cost more than a real one - unless one is being deceitful from the onset??

The funniest part about the clusterfuck known as Andrew and Amira (we still need names in the titles for these new couples) is that if Andrew wanted to make a good first impression on her father, EPIC FAIL.

I like how he tried to “butter up” Amira’s father the first time he ever video chats with him by opening the conversation with a stupid comment about how much he likes her father’s shirt and tie! It sounds like something he would say to put an anxious preschooler at ease like “What a cool backpack!” Um, Andy, I think you two have more important things to talk about so skip the chit chat. Pere Amira will think you’re an idiot.

I’m sure Amira has a passport and this isn’t the first time she’s traveled out of the EU. I recall her saying something about meeting up with Andrew several times. But, I wonder if her passport was within six months of expiring? That alone, coupled with no return ticket would be a big red flag at immigration.

Although I'm not certain that she wasn't being shaken down, it was probably that her passport was not considered valid without the return ticket and the immigration paperwork does not get that specific. Amira isn't saying though.

She couldn't have left Paris without a real passport. I've flown out of there numerous times. It's possible, though, that Mexico wouldn't honor her passport because it was set to expire soon. Different countries have different rules about that. For some it's even 90 days. To be on the safe side, always renew your passport about 6 months to a year before it's set to expire.

According to the consulars website, " "The Mexican government only requires that your passport must be valid during the entirety of your trip". If she didn't have a return ticket, and her passport was set to expire in a few months, then that was probably the problem.

Amira's not explaining anything but Andrew said that she had received a new passport about six months prior. I'm still leaning toward them using "No Passport" as a catch all for anything and they are considering it not valid because she didn't have a return ticket. There must be some reason Amira isn't saying anything. It's probably because she doesn't want to end her victim portrayal. She's using the hastag # freeAmira on everything she posts. At the time I writing this, the show still has her detained.

Andrew is still taking being made the bad guy poorly. He's the one who said on the show that it was his idea. I think he was covering for her idea because her dad wasn't happy about it, not knowing at the time that she told her dad he gave her an ultimatum and made her take the chance. Here's a recent post about him hiring a translator in response to all the comments that he didn't do anything:

Living in Arizona, we have been to Mexico many times.  I have never found myself in a situation where there was NO ONE nearby who spoke English.  I cannot believe that there would be a government office dealing with passport and travel issues in which NO ONE spoke English.

I call fake on that whole situation.

Perhaps they could not give out information on detainees to anyone other than a family member or attorney.  I am getting a bit weary of TLC thinking that everyone who watches their shows must be an idiot.  But, then, maybe just the fact that we DO watch them makes us idiots????  I prefer to think of us as people who are starved for anything that will distract us from OUR reality.

That was a sad looking room at that "luxury resort."

I will always believe that there are some really stupid people out there that for whatever reason they make life harder for themselves than necessary, we see them all on this show.

I saw something that I swear was Andrew reading a book to kids in Spanish and English, and the book had the kids' photos in it. He may have got an endorsement deal. I'm not certain it was him, though, because there wasn't a good facial shot. The Spanish wasn't fluent in any way and he had long black hair.

And the post which may explain where I thought I saw him reading a children's book:

And she shared the link to purchase the book, written by him, for kids about Covid-19.

I followed a FB 90 Day group  - I just left and unfollowed it as I made a harmless comment about Dean and his GF being pregnant and not being married and someone came after me, HARD and was, to be blunt, kinda scary.  (For full disclosure, my comment was "Does no one get married first anymore?")  I never called out a poster by his/her name - I never do, fyi.

I'm old fashioned too, @Mrs. Hanson, and a firm believer in married with children. Biologically, women like to feel protected. And it's all within their own power. jmo

To be honest, I don't really understand or care what any of their drama is about. He comes across as whiny.

The screenshots of his messages don't prove anything, either. He could've Photoshopped them (we could be looking at an image on his phone, not his messages), deleted her responses to him, etc. These people are boring, but she's pretty and can probably do a lot better.

Andrew really should stop while he's ahead. Well, he was ahead, not so much any longer. Amira was taking a lot of heat for writing that she was traumatized by her detention and blaming it on Andrew. People were saying she is an adult, ignored the rules even after being warned, and was exaggerating the meaning of the word "traumatized." It's more of a trauma than Jesse received from a shoe being thrown at him, but I see people's point. Instead of sitting back and allowing the viewers to speak negatively about her, he's gotten all pissy about being called a creep and manipulating her into going.

So, he won't shut up and makes himself look worse with every post:

The ticket agent at the airport in France would not have issued her a boarding pass if her passport was not in order.

I know in the states if you manage to get on an airplane without a passport or visa or what have you the airline will put on on the next flight back to the states, they are under no obligation to send you back to the same city you came from, just as long as it is the US, you could wind up in LA but live in MD, it would be up to you to get home once in the states.  That next flight might not be the same day so you would be put in a holding cell in the airport, most airports have a jail/holding area of sorts.

While detained Amira should have been made to write down what she loves about Andrew, after three days in holding it would have been a blank paper, that should tell herself something I am sure.

Andrew's statement that they're thinking of trying Serbia next was interesting.    I don't think that went over well with the person riding with him.   And if he thinks they can marry overseas, and she can come here right after, he's either delusional, or did zero research.

I went on Andrew's FB page and now I must bathe to make myself clean.  He is such a douche!  He posted series of him enjoying a day at the park and it so obvious he wants to read:  "Looking good guy!  You are SO handsome!" and he also posted a video (that I did not watch) where his MOM explains the "truth about Amira."  Again, mom of two college age guys and let's talk about the time I had to post a video to explain why my sons are not douchebags to their girlfriends.  Oh yeah, cause it will NEVER happen!  What is it with these douchebag guys sending their moms into to their dirty work??

I don't think Andrew even really qualifies as a douche, that's even a few notches above him...like it would be a compliment to him.

He is simply a flat out loser. Works in a dumpy home daycare with his dumpy mother. Lives in a dumpy apartment.  Hair is a greasy mess, clothes are Walmart sale rack. Looks to be unwashed and frankly just gross hygiene.

On top of that he has a horrible personality and obviously treats beautiful women like trash because he is so insecure about being such an unattractive nobody with no real financial prospects.  Who the hell would want this lump's children?

My guess is that Andrew's end game was to get Amira here, marry her instantly, and then she gets pregnant.   All of that would make her tied to him while she lasted out the waiting period to keep her status.    Then, he would either have her working for nothing at the mother's daycare, and be trapped.   You know that he would have isolated her, and Amira would be stuck with Andrew, of the greasy hair, and his mother.      If she managed to escape him, I bet the mother would list his income as virtually nothing, or say he's a volunteer, so he wouldn't have to pay child support.

Yep....and these, people, are all the reasons if you meet someone online, you need to spend a bit of time with them in person, where they live, to get a sense of the real person. All of these things (except the hygiene) would be easy enough to hide or portray in a different way over whatsapp calls, or when on vacation together, and add in a language difference.....bingo. That is why guys like this can land foreign women way out of their league. There is nothing wrong with being a lump who needs to buy Walmart clothes and doesnt' have much going for him financially---but this lump doesn't appreciate this fact adn thinks he is god's gift to women.
