I’ve read that the show has trouble finding grooms but it’s not Shark Tank or Americas Got Talent. I wish the show would return to more of its original format.

I don't think fewer people want to get married, but more people want to be social media celebrities and don't care what they are known for. The people who want to get married are using more traditional ways to meet people, or are still using dating apps, with little success. I kind of like the premise of Love is Blind, where they get to know the person first by spending time with them, sight unseen, and then finally meet them, but they have gotten to know the personalities. And, I think they just get engaged, but not married. That makes much more sense to me and will let people overlook those shallow things they state as must haves for MAFS, once they meet the person.

I listened to Juan with an open mind (I liked Karla on the show, but realize we don't actually know any of these people), but after a lot of surrounding context has come to light, I am definitely side-eyeing him now. I think your suspicion about him is exactly right.

There is a big distinction between wanting to get married and wanting to get married through this show where most of the matches are ridiculously incompatible and solely made for the intention of drama. MAFS has a 16% success rate over the years, so understandably a lot of good candidates would never consider taking such a chance. Those who are just looking for fame would be less phased by an 84% chance of getting divorced. Interestingly enough, the show got their craziest drama over the years (this latest cheating scandal) from one of the couples I thought was actually matched in earnest - Allen and Madison. Everything Madison purported to want in a husband was what the experts gave her in Allen and it must have come out of complete left field for them when she went for David.

MAFS is currently casting for participants in four cities: Seattle, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Kansas City. Not sure what order those would be, but guess what's they have in store after season 19, which filmed in Austin. I wonder if this means the show will have much shorter breaks between seasons on Peacock with them getting the ball rolling on so many different seasons at once.

I made a mistake and deleted Bachelor so I went over to YouTube!  They are merciless with the commercials and you can't fast forward them!

I watch this on the Lifetime app the next day because my cable service stopped carrying Lifetime. The Bachelor is available on Hulu, if you have it. Otherwise, I’m not sure whether the ABC app is still a thing since so many network families are constantly merging and switching their apps. Is it on Disney+?

Edited to add: Oh, the above conversation is regarding that next season it will be on Peacock instead of Lifetime. In that case, no, we’d only be able to watch it if we pay for Peacock.

Edited, no I'm not sure if those are sunglasses rather than regular glasses, but it was my first thought.

That season looks like the couples may be a little older. I think that is better than the ones they get in their early or even mid-twenties. But, the other side is that the older we get, the more set in our ways we get. Oh well - maybe they will make successful matches on Peacock. Too bad we won't be there to see it.

I also thought they looked a bit older and I think that could be a good thing. I think perhaps it's harder to find people a bit older who haven't been married before and/or don't have kids. I wouldn't care if the MAFS participants had been married before but I don't want to see a show where they have children, particularly minor children.

Dang it, now I'm sort of interested to see how this goes. At least two of those couples appear to be older, and most of them at least by these photos look like normal people.

Having such a range of ages between couples would would have to change the vibe of all the couple mingling (or maybe they'll go back to the past and not do that).

I read via a Facebook page that there is a mother and daughter on this season.  One person that replied thinks it is Jayln and Belynda.  Can't find news anywhere else about this.

Maybe because one generation's thinking of the other's "making whoopee" (tm The Newlywed Game) is icky! 🧐🥴🤯🤮👀😅

I already see some incompatibles. One groom won't be sophisticated enough (Derrek). Another probably asked for a light-skinned Latina (Will). A third husband (Chad) said he wouldn't  mind a bride near his age, but he lied and actually wanted a younger woman.

I'm not sure about this gimmick, but do like that they went older with two of the couples and am looking forward to it being in Austin since I used to live there.

This is Allen's new girl. Allen has been putting out Instagram posts with her face covered, but for some reason she's also in his comments making it known who she is and this was the profile picture on her account. Allen says he'll show her face when he "hard launches" their relationship in a couple weeks. Not sure what the reason is for all this buildup, but good for him seeming to be in a good place with her.

That’s a little weird that he’s trying to build up the suspense. It’s not the behavior of a secure man. It’s more the behavior of an insecure woman! Come on Allen, do better!

Also she shouldn’t be so quick to date him if he agreed to Married at first sight, after he met her. She should remind him that he could have been with her sooner if he hadn’t been made a fool of on tv by Madison and David!

Lol. It won’t last Allen. Everyone forgets most of the couples pretty quickly unless they are an Amani/ Woody type. Hopefully he is being more assertive with this lady and not letting her nitpick at him the way Madison did.

That's not what he said. Allen said that he had a first date with a woman to whom he was introduced by a matchmaker. She called and said "I'm ready for a second date" the day before he was scheduled to be married. I don't think he had heard from her between the first date and the casting process. So there was some time that passed between their first date and MAFS.

Madison and David did a big photo dump on Instagram since they can finally go public with their relationship now. I was shocked at the level of support they got in the comments. Their post was made about 6 hours ago and they're at almost 800 comments. From what I saw, it was all kind messages about how cute they are and how much everyone loves them together. The cast was just recently allowed to make their socials public and Madison has more followers than anyone else at 20.6K. By comparison, Allen has the next most at 15.8K. It did cross my mind that maybe Madison bought follower bots, but perhaps the Instagram streets are just a very different place than these Primetimer boards lol.

I'm not surprised - it's been over a year, Allen is happy, they're happy, no one cares that much about Michelle due to her own behavior - how long is one supposed to hold a grudge against an internet/reality tv person?  I think those kinds of grudges are carried longer here than in the real world 😂

I'm surprised that they're more popular than anyone else. I don't condone anyone going to people's socials to leave nasty comments, I was just surprised by how much the fans actually seem to like them.

Yeah that's a good point.  Although they did make this season better than last year's dreary crybaby-fest!
