It's the mid-season finale.  Will Scott finally see Lindsey in person?  Will she recoil at the sight of his lip flap? Will Jessica's parents welcome Maurice with open arms?  What drama will Jessica start to make sure all attention is focused on her?  And what of our delicate flower, Destinie?  Is it court date time yet or will Shawn still be wondering how much longer he needs to hold on so he doesn't lose $50K?  Will Quaylon commit to staying in Kansas City with Shavel or will he decide spending some QT in Houston is a better choice?   Will we blessed to not see John at all this episode?  And what about Tyrice - will he get a chance to get up close and personal with Chanda without food getting between them?

I think I said everything I could on the live chat, but I just realized that when Scott and Lindsey were walking around the house they didn't have a full camera crew. He did a lot of that filming himself. She did some, too. The rest were stationery cameras in the kitchen.

Destiney showed her true colors when she started beating on Shawn smh. Jessica looks just like her mama. Her dad was scary to me and very intimidating but I liked his “speech” to Maurice.

It all came into focus tonight......the rapid speech, the frenetic behavior, the sniffles.....Heather is on cocaine.  

I feel sorry for Heather because she obviously went through a serious trauma that she probably hasn't dealt with and instead of getting therapy she is distracting herself with this "mind marriage" or whatever.

This is going to all end in tears.  She seems obsessed with him as a way to distract from dealing with her issues.  She only knew him for like two weeks before he went to prison and she admits that he fucks anything that moves.  So she confided this deep, dark trauma to a guy who she barely knows and who only wanted her for sex.  She tattooed his name in multiple places.  She thinks they are mind married.  She kept weirdly and frantically kissing him.  I think he was just bored and was happy to have someone to visit him and put money on his books.  He has NO idea what he may have gotten himself into.  

I do feel sorry for her though, I think this behavior is unnatural and borne out of trauma.......which I hope she gets help for.

LOL, the low hanging fruit with Shavel is not her looks, but her overall idiocy.

Quaylon doesn't even have a license.  Shavel's mother was spot on, she could have put that money towards a down payment on a house or getting things for her daughter.  Instead she bought a truck for a man who doesn't have a job and certainly doesn't have a drivers license.  What the hell does he need a truck for anyways?  

And while Shavel is a nitwit for buying him a truck, I think that he should have quietly thanked her and had her take the truck back.  Just because someone is an easy mark doesn't make it right to take advantage.

I ALSO think there is some truth in what Quaylon's mom is saying.  I think that Shavel is trying to entice Quaylon to stay in KC.

She could also be abusing something like Adderall. I was on it for awhile and I also had erratic behavior, racing thoughts and speech, etc. And as my body grew used to it, if I skipped a dose or something my nose would start running. It's one of the early signs of withdrawal. (Your body can grow dependent on things even if you're not abusing it.)

But yeah... girlfriend's got something going on. If I were Dylan I'd sneak away, change my name, and never let her get anywhere near bunnies.

Shawn is maddening because he appears to constantly lie and then acts like its no big deal.  He offered no reasonable explanation as to why the credit card was declined and he didn't really seem surprised that it was.  

However, Destinee is the type of woman for whom men will fall into two categories....suckers or assholes.  Destinee could only ever have a relationship with a man who was an asshole to her.

Hector is the friend that Shawn doesn't deserve.  Poor guy was trying his hardest.  

I don't know a lot about bail, is there a way for Shawn to preemptively revoke the bail?  Like can he call the bail bondsman and say that he wants to forfeit the 5k he already paid, but no longer wants to be on the hook for Destinee's court appearance, because I'd let her skank off into the sunset and just chalk the 5k up to a life lesson.

Slow-bro and modern-day Karl Childers Shawn seems to be snorting rails of Benadryl before filming all of his scenes. I mean the guy seems to barely be able to phone it in. I woke up thinking Lindsey kissed Scott, like, she saw Flappy's flap and kissed it . . . she let that thing near her. She, she , gaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggh!!!!!! 

And yes, she should be happy to even have a place to go to.  At the same time, he should have been more honest about the state of things.  She can help clean.  He could make sure things aren't falling off of walls and that there is a space for her child.  Right now, the house is not safe with holes in the walls, loose wood, and the air vent pulled away from the wall. Methinks Scott's sure I have $50K to decorate the house is as real as Shawn's ability to afford to keep Destinie in her chosen lifestyle of excessive shopping and gambling.  These walking wallets are empty. 

People who will never see each other again: Chanda and Tyrice.  Lil Ty is going to be laughing at Tyrice for years to come.  There was a moment when Chanda looked a bit guilty.  I'm sure she shook it off.

Lindsay isn't as hot as she thinks she is, especially with her hair pulled up/back (IMO her hair is her best feature). Her lifestyle shows on her. She's going to age badly. When Scott said her closet looked "almost identical to the picture" and then they panned out and showed how ... not identical it was, I fell the fuck out. Lindsay is ungrateful as fuck, but that's not a surprise at all. I think she was surprised at being called out, though; she's used to manipulating men, and that wasn't working this time.

Heather is a really rough-looking woman; you can tell she's had a hard life. I've heard of that boot camp, if it's what I think it is - there was someone on Intervention that had been there. They basically tortured the campers. I think they were shut down once all the abuse came to light. My guess is she's clinging to Dylan so hard because she wants a family; I assume she's estranged from her mother and stepfather (rightfully so, IMO).

He could have been a promotional model, hired by a brand to promote the brand in clubs. But honestly, if he was a stripper or go-go dancer, I'm not mad at it. It's an honest living (well, it was, before he started dealing out of the club).

Heather was driving SEVEN HOURS to see Dylan every week? That's dedication. Or obsession. If you take away the blue suit and poor romantic decisions I think tyrice would be a better mentor for Maurice.  

He has an education and an excellent job and that is no small fear for a black man in chicago.  When he went to school and navigated the work place I'd bet there was a bunch of racism.  He has some ink so he may have grown up in a similarly rough environment with the same temptation.  

He drives a nice car, he owns a house, he has money and overall he has done well.  

I think Maurice may want that father figure but I don't think jessica's father is it.  

I also think he is going to quickly realize how much better he can do than jessica.

I knew that Lindsey was going to flip out when she saw her "dream house". None of it was done and when Scott showed the picture of that huge closet an compared it to the small white shelf against the wall saying it looks exactly the same..... 😑😑😑. I was so grossed out when she kissed him on the weird flap hanging down 🤢🤮🤮. That was so disgusting!! I'm surprised that he actually stood up to her an called her out for being ungrateful. Wonder what happened? I think Maurice is hot, he can do way better than her!! I can totally tell that Chandra is not into Tyrice at all and she's just using him. It was kinda creepy the way he was with her, like he could easily become obsessed with her and start stalking/ threatening her when he finds out that she just wanted his money all this time. I try to stray from making assumptions about sexual preference and what not, but when Dylan was saying that he was like a model/stripper/club dancer it all just sounded like code for "male escort."  I'm not mad about it, he may have been doing what he needed to do to survive, and he is easy on the eyes.

He is going to end up in some sort of ghetto witness protection where he changes his name and wears an awful megan wig to hide his identity.   

Like I said, I think that for someone like destinee, men fall into two categories...suckers and assholes.  You can bet your bottom dollar that she knows exactly which man she can punch and which man she cannot.  I would bet good money that she has tried that move on the wrong man and got her ass beat to a pulp.  

Shawn is obviously a sucker, but I wonder what her move is here.  Is she going to actually leave?  She doesn't have any money and she isn't married to him so is she going to hold the bail money over his head or will it be an implied threat?  I really wonder if there is any way he can get out of it, but I don't want Google to think I'm some sort of felon.

I think that Tyrice behaved defensively because he knows his children are right.  When I've been in this position with my dad, I know that I have to talk to him, if I come at him sideways and aggressive he is just going to get stubborn and dig his heels in.

  Mentors aren't perfect, no one is perfect and reacting defensively when you know you're wrong is an imperfect, human reaction.  

I don't know that Tyrice is trolling for felons as much as he is looking for a young, hot girl with a big butt.  We were talking about how inmates can get their profiles on normal dating websites like plentyoffish.  I'm not sure if he specifically met her on a prison site, he might have, but I would suspect that Tyrice was active on multiple sites and was not having much luck finding the young, pretty white girl with the giant ass that he was looking for (I think thats what he was looking for).

He had the patience, focus, intelligence and drive to attain an engineering degree, which normally involves advanced math.  Its unlikely he was prepared for that if he went to a school in a poor neighborhood (his tattoos and affinity for royal blue zoot suits make me think he did not grow up wealthy).  This means he had to work twice as hard to catch up to everyone else and complete coursework that would be hard even if he had completely the appropriate pre-work in high school.   

When he attended college the racism was probably bald and barely hidden, so he would have had to have the patience not to snap on people with their underhanded and overhanded jabs.  

He got a job, and again, given that a black engineer would have been such a rarity, he would have likely dealt with racism and a hostile work environment.  Maybe he didn't, but nearly every older, educated black professional I've spoken to had to deal with shit in the workplace.  His ability to keep that job or to keep that career seems like it would also involve patience, dedication, drive and focus.

As a felon just out, Maurice is going to face daunting obstacles as well and he is going to have to develop goals and the focus to accomplish them in spite of those obstacles.  

Its easy to go by what we see on TV, and I think thats fair, because you cannot assume what you don't see.  But some of Tyrice's conversation with his kids seemed like a bit of a set up.  If you were really worried about your dad being taken for all his money by a felon would you really confront him on national TV?  However, even if it was all absolutely real and raw, I still don't think that one encounter should preclude him from being able to offer real mentorship and advice.   

However, Tyrice cannot offer fashion or relationship advice, LOL.

Me too! I wasn't looking at the screen and I thought he was talking to a man at first.   Kristanna seems like the nicest of the women so far, all the others seem to have major anger issues.

I know we saw Scott bring in an interior decorator in one of the first episodes and told her money was no object, but when we see the house now it looks like crap.  So I'm guessing he doesn't have as much money as he likes to pretend and couldn't afford to have the work done.  Maybe he should have taken some pictures of the mess before he picked her up then she would have at least been ready.  And Lindsey's mom sounded like she can't wait to get rid of her daughter when they were on the phone, I feel bad for the poor girl.   

Shawn is in way over his head, what a moron.   "In two months we'll be broke if she keeps spending like this".  Yea so maybe put a stop to it before you're broke asshole.  Remember those 6 kids you have?  Nope can't worry about them, just have to give all my money to some psycho bitch that's gonna blow it on junk then punch me in the mouth.  

That new girl that looks different in every picture seems kind of obsessive.   It looks like they're fighting already in the previews and they've only been together a short time.  She really thinks some guy that's been arrested 34 (!) times is gonna be a good partner?

I think Tyrice has seen the last of Chanda.  That smile she gave to the camera people when Tyrice walked away was very telling.  She had his cash and that's all she cared about. I think he could do a lot better than her.  He should try looking for someone that's not in prison.

Well, Lindsey showed her ass in no time flat. She really expected that Flaps would design a house based on her "wish list" of magazine pictures? Of course, we don't have any idea what these guys promise their "soul-mates" when they are trying to woo them in prison. And the inmates have no idea how little money most of these schlubs have. I would say it's a case of each one duped the other. The guys on the outside promise all the clothes, jewelry, limo rides, five-star restaurant meals their "queens" desire, and the inmate women come across as sweet little wronged innocents that will immediately provide all of the cooking, cleaning and sex the desperate men could ever want.  This was a business arrangement in Lindsey's eyes: "I promised to pretend to be in love with this guy in exchange for my dream home and a limitless credit card." So she's pissed.  

Destinee is similar. She really thought she could pull a con on Shawn- pretend to promise her soul to him and play the wife role in exchange for all the shopping she could manage. Her outright disdain for him, while he just takes her abuse, is disgusting. He's more stupid than Scott though. He is sure they can "work it out" and that theirs is true love. I wish I could say he is about to get what he deserves, but... yeah, six children.

Yeah, I just need to note that Tyrice is only 49 years old, thus born in 1971. By the time he was in college and on the way in his career, Bill Clinton would have been president, so it's not like it was 1953 or something. I'm sure he faced racism, but by the time he came up, being a Black engineer would have made him very desirable to many firms.

I do agree he'd be a good role model for either Quaylon or Maurice, although their paths are much, much rockier than his ever was.

No, he can’t do that. Why on earth he didn’t seek out a bail bondsman for her is anyone’s guess. I thought the older guy he met with was an attorney giving him legal advice. Bail bondsmen usually put up the money once you sign something as collateral, such as your home, car, etc. 

When arrested and bail is set, if the person shows up for court you will get your money back. If not, kiss it all goodbye. The larger amount of money is collateral that she’ll show up in court. It’s like an insurance policy and whoever is forking over the money will follow her, keep tabs on her, making sure she goes to court. Which is what a bail bondsman does. If she fails to appear, a warrant will be issued for her arrest, and all the money put toward her appearing in court will be retained by the court. No refund.

It makes sense that Quaylon would be better off making a fresh start in Houston with his mother and sister. That said, they were pretty ridiculous talking like Kansas City is one giant episode of "The Wire" while Houston is Shangri-La. There are gangs and criminals in Houston, and the Quays don't look like they live in River Oaks. Besides, sharing Shavel's middle-class-adjacent home and family is not exactly crashing at a drug den.

I feel judged when all my recommendations are trash shows.  I can watch love after lockup AND Victoria.....don't assume!
