After her conviction for fraud, she can no longer get public assistance of any kind.    However, I'm sure the charities, and churches get hit up for support regularly. 

The parents lie about a lot of things, so I wouldn't be surprised if they never legally married, including the Disney ceremony.   No marriage license listed.

And the legit gossip press (TMZ, etc.) seems to be leaving them alone, probably because it's not considered one of TLC's hit shows.  I wonder what the ratings are.  It can't be very much or else we'd see a lot more digging by the press.

My friend is a Disney freak and when I described the hotel, she told me it was one of the new "Value" on site hotels called "The Art of Animation" and it looks like they stayed in the "Cars Family Suites" which sleeps up to 6 adults. My guess is that they got three suites and spread the kids between the adults.  The wedding took place at the Grand Floridian wedding venue.

On tonight's episode, Derrico was even more obnoxious than usual.  He proclaimed himself Super Dad.  Karen brought the twins to L.A. for a doctor's appointment, Gigi wasn't feeling well, and Eric was sent to Gigi's house to keep an eye on her.  So, conveniently, Derico was able to brag about how, not only could he single-handedly take care of  the 12 kids who stayed home, but he was also able to redecorate and reorganize their back yard (which was apparently all just dirt and dust).  Very producer-driven.  And then, Derico "fell asleep" on the couch and the kids drew on his face with lipstick and whatnot--all the while with him not waking up.  Sure Jan.  And the toddlers were nowhere to be seen during this scene.  (Maybe they were taking a nap, but more likely, they were with Eric who was probably not at Gigi's and was just off-camera.)

It low-level creeps me out the way Eric is ever-present yet mostly silent - just kind of always looming in the background.

I was very happy the little one's doctor appointment went well. (Still can't remember their names).  Seeing him after surgery last season was pretty heart-wrenching.   As others have said, I only watch this show for the kids (and Gigi).  The kids are  so respectful, well-mannered, and well-behaved that at first I wondered if perhaps the parents were strict disciplinarians.  But after watching them for a while, the kids don't seem fearful or timid to me.  They are just strikingly cheerful and happy, it seems - and that's a good look.

I researched the officiant issue for Florida a long time ago (I'm a retired reference librarian), if you get an online ordination, then you have to talk to the local court personnel, and see if they accept your licensing.    If the answer is no, then you aren't getting legally married.   Also, does Florida have a waiting or residency period?   Since until a few days ago, Disney makes their own rules, there might be different rules.   However, I doubt that the family do anything legally. 

I'm not sure the couple were ever legally married. 

Jumping the broom is done fairly often.   (I've been amazed at the women who jump the broom while wearing super high heels).

I was aware of the tradition existing during the American slavery days. Didn't know if some couples chose to do it these days or not.

I don't think the wedding ceremony (actually a vow renewal) needed to have a legal officiant since they're already married. 

edited to add, even if they never legally married as some people suspect, I don't think it would matter to them if this second ceremony was legally binding or not. It was all "just for show."

That backyard makeover was a big Wayfair commercial. There was a Wayfair commercial leading into the segment that showed a similar back yard makeover. Then the episode featured all the Wayfair boxes. So I'm sure the backyard was comped.  They really needed it so I'm happy for the kids.

I'm worried about GG. She has lost weight, her face is drawn and she doesn't look well. Hope she is ok.

Someone mentioned about the kids being thin. I'm pretty sure this is their natural build. Karen has had 14 children and not an ounce of fat on her. That is how I was built as a kid. But, alas.....

On tonight's episode, it's revealed that Gigi has lung cancer.  She had it in 2014 and it's back.  The family therefore will not move to SC.  

For being 72 and ill, Gigi is still so active.  They showed her climbing a hill at the trampoline park and also jumping on a pogo stick (16 hops).  I'm 6 years younger and I don't think I could do that.  

Also on the episode was Darian's 16th birthday party and the oldest son taking up boxing which seems to be his passion.

I am glad they will stay and be close to Gigi, hopefully she will have many years left with the grandkids. I for one thought the SC thing was dumb anyway, at least their plan for a Derrico Family Fun park, I can't see any wise investors saying "wow what a totally cool and unique concept to build on oceanfront property".  I do like Darian, but girl needs to chew with her mouth closed

Sad news about Gigi

Wow, Gigi's cancer is inoperable.  She has a 4-centimeter tumor.  At Derrico's urging, she is seeing a specialist.  She seems to have confidence in the specialist and she has agreed to do the treatments despite previously saying she didn't want to go through that again.  On the previews for next week, she doesn't look good.  I hope all goes well for her.

The kids are adorable and really don’t bother me (I’m not typically a fan of children I’m not related to  lol) but I’m SO OVER the singing.

Tonight's episode involved Gigi's first chemo treatment, Darian's first day back to high school since eighth grade (she was home-schooled for two years during Covid), and the kids making a recording of a song they wrote for Gigi.  The episode ended with the family putting on a Hawaiian festival for Gigi since her life's dream was to visit Hawaii.  Gigi cried happy tears with all the love flowing her way and vowed to keep fighting her cancer.  Tonight was the season finale.

eta:  I checked Derrico's Instagram to see how Gigi is doing.  There was a video from last week of Gigi saying she is doing immunotherapy and it is working as there is shrinkage in her tumor.  She looked really good.  She thanked everyone for their prayers and good wishes.

I so agree.  I was just with my mother the other day and she said "do you watch those Dericcos (sp)??'  I said yes and she said "the only one I like on that show is Gigi".  Then added "I love nanny Faye" (from Chrisley show) .. I do too.

So Karen is opening an online store? Clearly she is buying in bulk from some website as we were never shown her designing or creating anything. I kind of agree with poppa that all those boxes and junk would drive me nuts all over the house. Why didn't she just rent a storage facility? Also, what bugs me the most are where are the two dogs? We got a glimpse of one outside in the summer heat in Vegas, which is wrong on so many levels to me a pet lover. Snub nose dogs like that don't do well being outside all day in the hot weather. I hope someone calls and gets them away and can provide a comfortable home.

I guess you could call giant shipments from China, dramatically high resale prices,  and scoring big off of fans would be exotic.

Wow. Derricco's in a mood so far this season and is treating Karen even worse than usual. Don't get me wrong, she was as unlikable as ever herself, but that doesn't give Derricco a free pass to be a condescending asshole towards her, either. 

Interesting that silent hanger-on dude (sorry, can't remember his name) is now living with GiGi. He's probably a nice enough person who's just highly introverted and has no life of his own, but yeah, can't help it . . . he still gives me creeper vibes and just generally weirds me out.  Hopefully he's helpful to GiGi, however, and she's pleased with the arrangement.

Speaking of GiGi, adore her and very happy  she seemed to be in reasonably good spirits and that her quality of life appeared to stilll be good.

Also enjoyed seeing the kids again and appreciated the individual updates (altho I wish they hadn't been nearly as brief).  Always amazed at how bright, happy, vibrant, and well-adjusted their kids seem to be in spite of their crappy-ass parents.  Also appreciate the lack of whining and bickering amongst the kids - as compared to most other huge TLC families . . . such as, oh, I don't know . . . the Busby quints?  Or perhaps the Gosselin brats?

So, will continue to try to tune out Derricco and Karen for another season and focus on GiGi and the kiddos. ❤

I think they wanted to move to SC, near Myrtle Beach, on a big rural property, with no close neighbors, and a big house.   My guess is suitable for filming, and no HOA or restrictions on bringing equipment and crews to the house.   That storyline seems to have disappeared.

Well, I finally watched it on my DVR.  The story lines were kind of lame, i.e. kids must stay off electronics the entire summer and they drive their parents nuts, and the house is filling up with boxes from Karen's online store. OTOH, Gigi doing online dating is kind of interesting, so I'm in for that, but I wonder if they'll really pursue that story line.  All kinds of creeps may answer Gigi's ad.  Maybe they'll hire an actor to play the part.

I have to admit, I teared up a bit when they spoke to Amari and him possibly being Deon's brothers' son. I do hope he is, I think that would be wonderful, especially for Gigi. I also loved when Gigi pulled one over on Deon and Karen about the lemonade stand. I will continue to ask every episode, where are those dogs?

Me too, it really hit me when she said she said she only had one child not two. At one on here know in 2018 my daughter Madison passed away she was 12. But I always say I have two children. And if need to let people know one is here on Earth and one is in heaven. 
Gigi has endured so much I am hoping they wouldn’t be filming this unless it’s a good outcome!

Love the sweet relationship between GiGi and the oldest granddaughter.  I was also the oldest grandchild, and my grandmother and I were always especially close.  Until she passed away a few years ago, she was my best friend and the person I loved most in the world.  GiGi actually reminds me a little bit of her, in that they both have the same kind of spunky attitude, can be a little bit irrereverent at times, and are fierce when it comes to their family.  I laughed when Darien suggested a double date and GiGi said, "Child, please."  

Overall, this show just feels weird to me, and I think it's the disconnect between the crappy parents who I dislike more every time I see them and their 14 awesome kids, who all seem to be bright, happy, funny, well-mannered, creative . . . Overall, the kids are just delightful - and I love seeing glimpses of their personalities.  (Would love a show that only focused on GiGi and the kids.  Woudln't miss the parents' storylines at all).  I laughed out loud when Derrico was trying to teach the kids to ride their bikes and Dawsyn totally peaced out, saying, "Done with this.  Bye." 😆

I just caught up to the last two episodes.  The kids are apparently learning to ride bikes/scooters on the street?  Couldn't he bring them to some place safer?

I always thought positive DNA tests had a score more like 99.5 percent or something like that.  A score of 76 percent doesn't seem like a definitive answer.  But Gigi had no doubt even before the test, so I guess that's enough.

Doesn't a number less than 99% on a DNA test mean that the two people are related, but not parent and child, but more distantly related to the suspected parent?   It's called 'inconclusive', meaning there has to be more testing to determine parentage.  However, 76% is a decent probability for grandparent, and grandchild.

I wondered the same thing, so asked The Google - and after a couple minutes skimming the search results, I think you're correct.  A grandparent / grandchild don't share enough DNA for the results of a DNA test between only one grandparent and a grandchild to be considereed conclusive (>99% certainty); thus, the results will either be in the inconclusive or excluded range.   It seems like a result of 76% is considered quite high for a grandparentage test, however, and about as close to conclusive as you can get.

Hell, these parents are awful. Your child has a chance to get a leg up academically and socially. Get those two kids at home involved in something fun instead of laying around the couch saying how much you miss Dawsyn.

Dawsyn was doing just fine before mom started in about the other two triplets.

It was heartwarming to see how the family accepted Amani so easily and completely. 
 

These episodes where GG is crying or close to tears several times are hard to watch. She seems like such a good person; I hope she can forgive herself for any mistakes she may have made in the past, knowing she did the best she could do at the time. 
 

Why oh why do they wear those Dur-ree-koh shirts and hoodies so much? Are they selling them? Do they expect people to buy them? Let’s see some regular clothes more often, please.

I always thought that if possible, twins, triplets, etc. would be placed in different classrooms in public schools. The school would separate them?
