Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!

So Dubai was officially a snoozefest? They posted so little content while there - and I'm sure Visit Dubai was thrilled bc they'd post minimal content and tag Visit Dubai in the smallest possible font in unreadable colors often in places where you can't click on IG. I assume bc they got so much criticism of their trip, selling out their kids to become influencers to get free trips like this - they were trying to keep it low profile and act like it was a vacation? And I'm sure they were pissed bc they were totally reading comments while there and while they likely hoped everyone would be sooo impressed and jealous, more than half the commentors were annoyed and/or like I'm done with you, you're fake. We know they were reading bc Carlin was liking the nice comments and replying to the - where did you get your outfit comments - lol

But aside from spa days and eating lots of pizza and pancakes at the hotel and going to various buildings nearby to see the view, it seems like they spent a few hours in Old Dubai with Carlin half heartedly saying - oh Dubai isn't just skyscrapers, it has history and culture too?? Said as if they totally did not care about said history and culture - which they didn't. They basically walked around old Dubai taking pics of themselves. Then they went to the desert and cosplayed Aladdin - more pics of themselves. And then they were done. I mean seems like they spent their last evening at Top Golf Dubai eating nachos - you know what they do on every damn double date with Trav/Katie in Knox or when hanging with his family in Nashville. I'd def travel halfway across the world to play golf and eat nachos at the same chain that's 15 min from my house. 🙄

Only mildly interesting part of the trip was the guy hitting on Carlin pretty much ready to ask her up to his hotel room and Carlin basking in it. In case you missed it - I think the original IG reel is on Reddit; what they have on IG of it now is very edited bc the original got soooo many comments re Carlin having heat with this dude. They made this huge deal about how they were getting together with a local in Dubai. Turns out he's an American living in Dubai prob working for Dubai tourism (fixed that in the edited reel). He takes them to sushi. Carlin does her usual omg sushi, raw fish, IDK, I've never had it, I'm such a dumbass I can't even hold chopsticks. Carlin is sitting between this dude and Evan and the dude is 100% flirting - egging her on to try stuff, mocking her, leaning in her direction. And Evan - the gay bestie in his CRAAZY hat - totally is egging on the flirting, encouraging the guy to keep flirting?! He had zero clue that this guy was flirting with his woman and his woman was eating it up!? Can you imagine if it were Kelton - he'd have his hand firmly planted on Josie's ass to let the dude know he can talk, but he's the one hitting it later.

Only these two can make Dubai boring. Though the IG today recapping the trip starts with Evan saying the Dubai tourism tagline - Habibi (meaning - my love) come to Dubai - in an Arab accent🙄. Guaranteed they learned not one other word of Arabic.

As a mother of three (8, 12 and 15). I can’t even bother to look at our entertain Carlin and Evan’s instagram reels. I work part time (8-2) at my kids school as a Kindergarten assistant. I arrive at 7 and sit in the car so my kids can socialize before school starts. I leave at 2:30 and sit in my car until 3:15 dismissal so I dont have to go through the car line. No benefits, no paid time off but I work a job that allows me to be there for my kids. My husband lost his job due to Hurricane Helene. It was completely flattened. He found a new job with less pay in three weeks. These fools know nothing about the real world and Dubai is wasted on them. Granted Dubai is not a place I want to travel to. Scotland, Italy yes but I’m in the boat of having a new driver to insure, college. They have no clue what it means to sacrifice Jack shit.

Livin' large. I don't personally know a single person who has IVs done at home.

There are businesses that provide this service at a big price for people with more money than brains who think getting IV fluids and some vitamins is going to cure their jet lag or hangover.  There are a bunch of them in party cities like Vegas.  I presume Carlin cut a deal to advertise this particular company and the IV was comped.  Since I expect the Dubai tourism bureau isn't going to be inviting them on another trip anytime soon, Carlin needs to be cultivating new grifts.

One mobile (for in-home)is $175 for jet lag.

Another place where you have to go in is $150.

A B12 injection was $15 at one place.

Several don't list a price upfront and then I got bored.

Humorous story is a few years ago in the ED with my mom and listening to why people were there and one person wanted to get an IV on request. That was humorous as the "patient" kept trying to find out what they had to claim to get an IV and get insurance billed and the nurse doing triage was trying so hard to be tactful and saying they would provide appropriate treatment for the person's condition.

1- Because it's what the fancy people do

and

2- Because it continues to imply that Carlin's health is very delicate (all evidence to the contrary)

What you said.  Also, the Dubai trip didn't generate the sort of fan engagement Carlin craves and she knows reminding everyone that she is a fragile flower whose health is precarious has always been a winner for them.

People do this all the time, not just for IV's.  They'll walk in and ask for 'that test for all my hormones' (the nonexistent one?) and say they talked to their insurance company and they cover everything as long as the doctor orders it (major lie of omission: they cover what the doctor orders as long as it is on their list of approved procedures for that diagnosis).

I recently had a patient present me with a list of about 20 tests, mostly hormones, that she wanted ordered.  Where did she come up with this?  She sees a 'healer' who told her she needed them.  BTW, she'd already had at least half of the same tests done in the past year; TWICE, by 2 different doctors.  All normal.  She has regular monthly periods, which is the true test of a woman's endocrine status, BTW.  If your periods are normal, so are your gyn hormones.  Hell, they're probably in the normal range even if your periods aren't.  Anyway, I decided to price it out and this was around $2000 worth of blood work, much of which she already knew was normal.  I told her I would order them using the diagnosis 'patient requests diagnostic testing' which is a big red flag absolving me of any responsibility for defending this money waste to her insurance company and essentially guaranteeing that she was paying out of pocket.  Girl went and got the bloodwork anyway.  Every single test was normal.  Some people are their own worst enemies.

And posting content this morning from the Biltmore in Asheville NC - as that mansion is all decked out for Christmas. I get it it's kind of a local trip for them - prob 2-4 hrs driving. But WTH you JUST got back from Dubai, needed and IV on Saturday and you need another trip?? Apparently there were there yesterday/last night as people are commenting on her IG that they met her last night. . . . Guess that's what happens when you need to generate a living via content, you need to keep doing things so people watch.

Who is this Sophia Hill person? Tags her in the Biltmore pics and mentions her as a friend but come on do these people have friends for real? Is that another IG influencer that they're cozying up to?

Ugh- I live in Asheville. Wonder if she will at all mention the devastation surrounding her, the people living in tent neighborhoods because their homes were destroyed, Ruth Chris is about the only restaurant on that side of town that survived (other than Biltmore Estate restaurants), no doubt they will be eating there at some point.

This would require Carlin and Even to give a f*** about anyone but themselves.  They barely tolerate their kids; expecting them to even notice the pain and suffering of anyone around them is beyond their abilities.

I am so sorry to hear that things are still so difficult there.

Sophia is a fellow fame-hungry Momfluencer. The friendship is fake as a $3 bill. They're mutually using each other for exposure and engagement.

As far as the Biltmore, E&C got a lot of grief for taking their umpteenth kid-free trip, so this is their clapback. They had to trot out their little money makers to show their fans the kids don't get left out. Also, Josie's living it up in NYC right now and Carlin was not  about to let that go unchallenged.

Gosh they are insipid. sometimes I wonder if they are trying to escape themselves and each other with the endless going/doing.  If they sat back and relaxed they would have to face themselves and each other.  Carlin is very undereducated and maybe not capable.  Evan, well it has been discussed that he "pings", so if they didn't keep on the move and pretend they want to be influencers, maybe they "couldn't handle the truth".

A 4 hour trip is local?

My ex boss who had more money than common sense or work ethic. He used to get them from this service that catered to people with hangovers and such.

The IV business is huge in Las Vegas.  The hard partiers wake up with the hangovers from hell and they get IV’s brought directly to their hotel room.

I'm originally from Knoxville, TN and Biltmore is a 2 hour drive.  Pretty easy day trip, but plenty of hotels and Airbnbs in Asheville, as well.  If this trip is on their own dime, I would be surprised if they stay at Biltmore, as the rooms are not cheap this time of year (~$800/night).  Of course, if their new buddies are staying there, I'm sure Carlin et al will be too, regardless of cost.

Biltmore Hotel tour, Dollywood....just after coming back from a first class trip to Dubai? These two are living like they are millionaires IMO. It doesn't add up. One day soon, they need to explain how they are paying for all of these things...no need for bank account numbers, etc...just explain if they are spending everything they earn from BUB and YouTubes...if they are saving for tomorrow or not...Frankly, I am tired of the trips, shopping excursions, restaurants, expensive coffees, nails, hair...etc. These two are never home. Their children do NOT have a good routine. Sadly, I see Katie following their example...I am now seeing Hailey walking around eating "snacks" all the time. She also fell fast asleep during a recent YOuTube...They were better off staying in NJ with stable influences.

He’s not great at anything, imo.

But its just freebee after freebee!  He has to know all the ropes in getting everything free!

They just don't bring in enough from that boutique to afford Dubai and other trips.  Hotel fees and dinners, Tesla cars, swimming pools, nail salons and unlimited Starbucks and door dash!

Carlin might dress some from the boutique but Evan and the kids wear high retail clothing.  The very best!

Unless Tenessee decides to crack down on people selling their children online, nothing will happen to them.  There is no way BSB brings in enough money for Whitney/Zach and Carlin/Evan to live the way they do.   Yes, I know Whit schills a lot of various products that Carlin doesn't.

Edit - I forgot about Carlin and Evans's Dubai vacation, so yeah, they do a lot of schilling too.

Personally, I wish all influencers would disappear.

The Dubai trip was comped, but I wonder: do they have to declare the value of the trip as income on their taxes? I know game show contestants do, but Influencers? I'm sure most of them are skirting the laws so long as they don't get caught.

I'm with the rest of you who can't wait for the era of the Influencer to end. They're all so greedy and disingenuous and it's sad naive people fall for their sales pitches.

With regards to Carlin and Evan, I chalk up their finances to a combination of three things: Legitimately high income from social media, no savings or retirement and a shit ton of credit card debt. Keep in mind, a well known Influencer was recently caught stealing and scamming from Target, so I bet the bulk of the them are living way beyond their means.

Influencers do have to pay taxes.  They are generally considered to be independent contractors and would get a 1099 form from every company that compensated them for their services if they reached a threshold amount of payment from that business.  It used to be, any business that paid a contractor $600 or more in a year had to report it to the IRS and issue a 1099.  The influencers would pay self employment taxes on top of their regular income tax to make up for the Social Security and income tax contributions that would be provided by a regular employer.

And, yes, anything of value they would receive from a client would have to be reported as income.  However, they could deduct business expenses too including stuff like laptops and Evan's fancy camera set up.  Travel, if not provided by the client, would also be tax deductible.  The thing is, that kind of stuff can be fairly easily hidden or undervalued for tax purposes and a lot of self-employed influencer types probably don't report a lot of the swag they receive.

Ugh Carlin, let it go.

Did anyone catch Even singing at a Christmas service? Better than Lawson. 😂

When I accidentally stepped on my cat's tail, he sounded better than Lawson.

I'm still scratching my head at Carlin needing an IV to get over jetlag.  I had no idea that was a thing.  I just toughed it out when I had jetlag and made sure to stay hydrated.  Of course I had a job I had to get back to as well, so there's that.  Carlin's an idiot.  And she really needs to stop with the duck lips.

It really is a low bar…

The duck lips look idiotic.

Anyway, I, too, don’t get the IV thing. It just reeks of performative “specialness.” Earlier this year, I had an IV iron infusion for iron-deficiency anemia. Supplements weren’t working and I couldn’t go up the stairs without getting really winded. So, I genuinely needed it. But to deal with jet lag? Seriously? I guess she’s one of those people who uses medical issues to get attention (not surprising, given her background). I’ve known people like that and they’re exhausting and frustrating in the extreme.

I've been getting iron infusions for four years. It takes time to book an appointment with the hematologist, time to go to the lab for bloodwork, time to see the hematologist, time to schedule the infusion appointment, time to wait for insurance to approve it, time to go to the infusion appointment. It's a legit need. And here dipshit is getting an IV for no reason but performative, after her latest performative vacation. No big deal to her because she doesn't have a job or even pretend to have one.

I'm really maxed out on "influencer" trash. That entire concept needs to just go away. So do Carlin's duck lips.

My mother has to get iron infusions as well and the process wears her out.

I agree Carlin getting the IV at her house was just an attention grab and showing off her disposable income. I know it's a trendy practice right now but she could've just drank water and Gatorade and gotten a few hours sleep. Not to mention, she was in Business Class the whole time so it's not like she spent a day crunched in a middle seat in row 37. She just has to be dramatic about everything.
