  1. I apparently wasn't paying full attention during the first round -- I didn't get the Book of the Month category until the very end. Color me, well, inattentive. :) Despite that, I did get June, but mostly because I've read the book. FJ wasn't quite an instaget, but only because the title wouldn't come to my brain fast enough. I knew immediately which book they wanted. Sorry to see you go, @MrAtoz! Not a great fan of Suzanne, so I will be happy to root for Jim tomorrow!
  2. And when you turned it off, a tiny point of light would linger in the middle of the screen.
  3. And is she even telling the truth? Or is she just continuing to try to save face?
  4. True, but by the time of the farewell scene, Lily had been dead for sixteen years, and Petunia had those same sixteen years to make up for regrets and "what ifs" with Harry. She chose to be an asshole to her sister and to Harry. I do have sympathy for the Dursleys having to move house with a day's notice, but that's about the extent of it.
  5. It's a little embarrassing to admit, but one of my friends and I still do that. Not every phone call, but still. The Burger King King is extra crispy creepy with his tongue hanging out like that. ::shudder::
  6. I agree, but I've always been a fan of well-kept facial hair.
  7. Bacon + caviar = salt overload. And icky.
  8. Your nutcracker collection might be the most interesting thing about you. Until you get on Jeopardy!, of course.
  9. It is powerful, but it is also out of character. If Petunia was so fond of Lily, why didn't Petunia defend Lily to Aunt Marge? Why didn't Petunia treasure her only sister's only child? Petunia didn't "lose" a sister when Voldemort killed Lily, Petunia threw her sister away when Lily went to Hogwarts. But I do wonder if the Dursleys ever returned to Privet Drive.
  10. We called them vi-EE-nee sausages -- the local speech habit is, if the last letter of a word is "a", the sound gets changed from "a" to "ee".
  11. I would like to thank the movie "Amadeus" for leading me in the right direction of my wild-ass guess of Mozart. I was shocked, shocked, I tell you, to find out I was correct. Congrats again, @MrAtoz! I got Alcoa, finch, and around the neck.
  12. I remember when we didn't have to have a TV in every room of the house, and, except weekends, we weren't allowed to watch TV at breakfast (or dinner). Get off my lawn! :)
  13. I had a dog who loved brand-new tennis balls. She'd chase it once, then lie down somewhere with it between her paws, and methodically bite off all the fuzz. And then lose interest entirely.
  14. Not only did that clue specify a five-letter word, it specified a five-letter word that starts with F. Wash was incorrect on many levels, and Alex shouldn’t have hesitated.
  15. Or start in the middles of categories. Congrats again, Scott! I ran through Shakespeare's tragedies in my head, but ran out of time before I got to Romeo and Juliet. I should have known it immediately, but alas. I was able to get chile/chili (I've never heard of curre or curri, Kat!), hypertension, Russia, Ghostbusters, and Siberia. And, like the rest of you, was astounded by their showing a photo of Elvis.
  16. I think the brother was sincere, too, which helped with his credibility. It was the sister who was the evil mastermind -- standing off in the shadows, quietly plotting.
  17. Welcome, @MrAtoz! And congratulations! You'll have to tell us all about your experience sometime. Seconded.
