  1. I think I'm done here, guys. I'm not mad, just tired. I'll probably keep up with comments here, and recaps (if I can find any), but watching is not a priority. And again, I wish they'd caption all the Spanish dialog.
  2. [So, *spoilers* for The Promised Land in this post] I liked it overall; it was funny -- that cat door gag cracked me up every time! Some fun callbacks. However, they introduced some things that they didn't follow up on (as per usual, I guess). In particular, Lister's duty to continue the human race and his newfound hoarding tendencies. [And now my rant:] I truly am baffled why Doug Naylor (yep, gotta call this guy out by name) just refused to write an proper story for Cat. Ever. Cat literally only here for jokes and looking pretty. The others at least once or twice got a plot that showed some character growth (even if it was for one episode), or we learned something new about them, or it changed the way the characters related to each other (for an episode). I don't know how Danny John-Jules has put up with it; but I suppose this is a fun, easy paycheck for him. I mean -- Rimmer had a big part in the plot when we met a ship of holograms; and so did Kryten with the ship of mechanoids; but now we revisit cat history and meet new cat characters, and Cat has nothing to do or say about that?? Seriously - We meet an entire tribe of felis sapiens, and perpetually horny Cat who has been stuck with these losers for decades, doesn't get to express anything about finally meeting some cat women at least? Or meeting his brother? (I shouldn't even acknowledge that reveal, seeing as how it changed nothing.) I'd really love to know why they deliberately ignored writing for Cat.
  3. It was overcast where I was (Finger Lakes region of NY), but still in the path of totality. So no sun visible, but it was still pretty cool to experience going from day to night and back to day within a few minutes! I was at a location with a good unobstructed view of the sky in all directions, and I think the clouds actually helped us better see the shadow/darkness moving from one horizon to the other. I know many people traveled upstate for totality; but I heard NYC got better views even if it was 'only' partial. Oh well, I did get to see the sun in crescent in 2017.
  4. Well, in my area it turned out cloudy, so the eclipse was kinda a bust. But I did do one of my cookie ideas. Next time, I'd do a couple things differently, though. But this was an experiment anyway. The sun is lemon sugar cookie dough, and the moon is chocolate-orange-ginger.
  5. Deadline has details of the court proceedings, etc., (and a summary of how it got to here) if anyone is interested: https://deadline.com/2024/04/jonathan-majors-sentencing-domestic-violence-1235878222/
  6. It's a really short season, then. 😕

  8. I'm just sorry we never got a Bakula/Sam cameo.

Finally caught the rest of this; don't have much to add that hasn't already been said, but I liked seeing more of Bobby, and yay! no murders this week.
  10. Those look great; they're neither fudgy or brownies, though. (you didn't name them, of course)
  11. Okay, cool; there is a version. I don't care one way or another. My main concern is how wrong info gets spread in the rush to be first to 'scoop' movie news.
  12. Skimming wikipedia, it seems like there is NOT a Shalla-Bal version of Silver Surfer, so maybe the details of this casting aren't all correct.
  13. Before I get into The Promised Land, I just wanted say how amused and impressed I am by "Tongue Tied"! Like, most shows wait a few seasons to attempt this type of nonsense, but this was 2 seasons in - and the 12th episode! And the fact that they wrote a whole song and had choreography and backup dancers for what's pretty much a throwaway line/scene. ... And the fact that it was actually released as a single with a music video and everything, and it charted! LOL! It's pretty catchy.
  14. I haven't really paid attention to the filming dates, etc., for this show, but was 6 episodes enough time for them to write in Arman's death? -- If that's what they're doing? I want to believe them, especially since, sadly, we know the actor isn't coming back, but I feel they might put a twist on it. Also would they want to conclude Arman's story so soon?
  15. I forgot: Ramona and Jorge were talking about the ransom for Arman, etc.; but we still don't know who took him. Unless I missed something, it's just 'some other gang'. I hope they at least clear that up very soon.
  16. They are annoyingly inconsistent with captioning the Spanish dialogue. I know they're playing coy with the new characters, but they (Jorge) tried to imply that Ramona would be capable of kidnapping Luca, but I actually don't think she'd do that, based on what they've shown of her so far. This show loves twists, so I feel that it will be eventually revealed that Jorge is the worse bad guy, but we'll see. Thony has only done one and-a-half jobs for Sin Cara, but she sure asks a lot of favors! So they told her to stay away, so I can only assume she messes with their plans somehow next week. Well, I'm glad poor, ignored Jaz got to voice some feelings this week; because yeah, her home family life has really been disrupted. CPS didn't take Luca this week, but maybe that might happen later to raise the stakes, like they like to do.
  17. How Madame Web Should Have Ended ... and there's a crossover!
  18. Oh. My. Josh. I did NOT recall that there was amnesia as well as clones in this arc. I can see how people would be pissed -- I'm pissed right now! This is ridiculous and taking way too long; but it is very comic book-y. But at least Teri Hatcher had fun playing two new characters? It was cool to see Lex again. One highlight: Clark telling his parents that no sex happened ... in the most G-rated way possible. I don't know if this is the worst ship-stalling, but it's definitely up there in the top ten.
  19. From over a week ago, but it looks like DC posted this clip from the musical episode to coincide with Grant Gustin's Broadway debut: 'The Flash - Barry's Love Song and Proposal | Super Scenes | DC'
  20. Yes, refugees. I wasn't only talking about Fiona and Chris. But their family was also being threatened as shown in the premiere.
  21. I don't expect the same relationship or chemistry that Robyn had with Bishop, but then they're making things way worse with Fisk by writing him as antagonistic. Do they want me to hate this guy?? Because it's working. But, as stated already, the bigger issue is that we don't need the CIA as a regular presence (or at all) on this show.
  22. When Thony and Fiona are faced with a terrifying situation, they set out to fix it before it's too late. Meanwhile, Jorge throws a wrench in Ramona's plan to find Arman, and Ramona starts to question his allegiance. Airdate: April 2, 2024
  23. Scheduling is probably already hard enough without having to factor in what jokes a host might make.
  24. 'SNL Sketch Rewind with Ego Nwodim: Rich Auntie with No Kids'
