  1. New cast photos here: https://www.instagram.com/foxtv/p/C2-Z6i7rSO6/ And promo photos are out for the first two Season 3 episodes, but I haven't found hi-res versions.
  2. ' ‘The Equalizer’ Pays Tribute to Queen Latifah’s Late ‘Family Member’ Kristina Jones' Apparently I missed this at the end of the premiere; this article links to the original article.
  3. For goodness sake, how many nemesises does Robyn need? And the character and actress weren't compelling either. Like everyone else, I prefer the cases-of-the-week with Robyn helping the little guy. There shouldn't be any CIA plots, but I'm willing to tolerate a couple episodes per season. I did LOL at that, just because of how ridiculous it was. But I am glad the show is back, hopefully it's back to its regular format next week.

    S01.E02: Missoula

She was initially cast, but dropped out for whatever reason. There wasn't really any news reported about the recasting.

    S01.E01: Klamath Falls

Okay, so some clunky expository dialogue and cliché tropes, but I still thought this was good. Willing to stick around and see more of Colter's adventures. It's starting out stronger than some other shows.
  6. Ben leaps into the body of a Baltimore firefighter in 1974 and is unexpectedly reunited with his time-crossed love, Hannah, and her son, Jeffrey. Trapped in a towering inferno, Ben must find a way to repair their troubled relationship and save their lives before it's too late. Ben finds himself behind the wheel of a speeding stock car in 1976, but a terrifying threat from the future could sabotage the leap. Racing against the clock, Ben, Addison and the team must risk everything to complete the mission and save Quantum Leap itself. Airdate: February 20, 2024

  8. Ugh - they really had to ruin a pretty decent ending with a downer Season 2 tease. Anyway -- a few good things: Bombing mystery is solved, so we can move on from that. Got rid of one assistant - should have been both, but, baby steps. Rose is back! Kylie's got a job at the FBI, which is what I figured would happen. Not related to this episode; but if they actually show Alec in the classroom more, that might be a better place for the behavioral theory exposition next season. Willing to give this show a second chance -- if they actually revamp a few things.
  9. Season finale: Alec and Marisa are close to finding the culprit of the church bombing. Kylie gets an interview with the FBI, but is pulled into the investigation. Rose tracks down a witness. Phoebe and Rizwan make a discovery that sheds light on the truth. Airdate: February 19, 2024
  10. Fox Spring Preview; TCL's part is at 6:19 in the video:

  12. Sounds like someone's trying to shift the blame. Didn't they say before that the show was too expensive? With the CW bloodbath that happened the last couple seasons, I doubt this was getting a fifth season in any case. Also, in no way is this CW show competition for a movie that wasn't going to come out until after the show ended - even if it had a fifth season.
  13. This is the thing. I get that people want to see what is in the comics, but film is a different medium. It's never going to be exactly the same. For many reasons.
  14. This one I completely disagree with. Clark is an alien and changing his race can create interesting character dynamics while staying true to his characterization. Particularly since we are now looking at a Clark raised in the 90’s or later. Yeah, this is what I meant that some of these characters aren't actually 'white'. Kal-El is an orphaned refugee from another galaxy, why does that mean he has to be 'white'. And? Movies with white male stars also flop, and movies with non-white casts are successful as well. (As if MBJ was the problem in that movie -- LOL!)
  15. Some stray Season 3 thoughts: I know it's a fool's errand to expect consistent continuity, and that I can (and have) read explanations online, but it's still an odd choice to have so many big unexplained changes from the previous season. They still suck at conclusions, but I'd say the writing was stronger in general. I know it can be tough to be the straight man, but Craig is still the weak link. I was going to commend them for the great casting of Young Lister in the 'Timeslides' episode, but then I read it was actually Craig Charles' brother, LOL!
  16. Yes, the country with a history and culture of racism, discrimination, and segregation that would filter down through literature and the arts. Nothing inherently wrong*, but whiteness has generally been the default standard, and with a film adaptation there's an opportunity to do something different that reflects the world today. *(although I think some of these 'icons' might not be as 'white' as some people think.)
  17. It's interesting that you think casting an actor of color for "iconic" characters is a demotion, or only for 'lesser' characters. It probably wasn't intentional when he was originally developed, but I've heard the argument (and I agree) that for Batman (Bruce Wayne, specifically) his white privilege and generational wealth are essential to his character, so it makes sense he's white. However, most characters that happened to colored beige in the comics don't really have any characteristics specifically tied to whiteness. ETA: I'd totally be down for casting actors of color for Wolverine and Peter Parker. Give me an Native Logan and Asian-American Peter, which would make sense with their backstories.

  20. Didn't that pretty much get wrapped up in the Season 1 finale?
  21. They made a big deal about this Gideon character coming in, but then they hardly tell us anything about him or his interest in the chip data, and we're about to end the season. They really need to re-prioritize their subplots. And yeah, I'm also wondering why they introduced the idea that they can bring Ben back, but then they haven't followed up on that. Thought the leap story was good; was nice to see Ben have to do the actual work of the person he leapt into. So the 'Addison has a boyfriend' arc has been a waste of space. *Shocker.*
  22. He said that? Every adaptation has changes and that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with "approval". I don't think they announced any characters that aren't in the comic books. But if you mean they need to look exactly like the printed page, that's almost never going to happen for a variety of reasons, especially in live-action. Not the same situation. It's 2024, and the filmmakers can't only cater to white American teen boys in the 60's like when these characters were first created.
