Resurrecting this thread to say: Yeah, if I got my play produced, I also would not give credit to my impotent ex! --- Overall: While I mostly liked the ideas here, I don't think I fully liked the main characters.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Trini replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
LOL -- The only reason I passed Chemistry in high school is because I was one of the few well-behaved students (and I guess I was also a A/B student in every other subject); and the teacher mercy on me. --- But a pet peeve: Drivers who don't know/care about the etiquette at a 4-way stop intersection. I know we live in the middle of nowhere, but come on! -
Man, I still don't know what Minecraft is! Only that it's some type of video (mobile?) game. I was kinda aware of it's popularity, but didn't think the movie would be such a big deal. But on the other hand, it was aimed at kids and there's not that many movies out right now for that market, so I would have expected it to do well just based on that. Well, prepare for another dozen or so video game adaptations to be announced....

No, not that I know of. I'm in the northeast U.S. But I admit that I don't/haven't spent a lot of time at beaches.

The fact that they've kept delaying this very basic piece of info is what has me now thinking that they might be setting up for some type of twist, and he's NOT the real Jamie. If it is Jamie, it's just a super stupid, super annoying, unnecessary drama generator.

The joke is nobody's going to be crying over OJ. For real world reasons, not movie reasons. Plus the 4th wall breaking.

It's LAME. They could have done something better. I thought it was really lazy.

This show is pretty good with the cases of the week, but it's really failing at the ongoing arcs. At least this season. The Heather/Accomplice reveal is because Margaret thinks she looks like Sir? LAME. I hope they get actual proof next episode. And maybe it would have had more impact if they had spent more time showing or telling us about Sir's family. Lena was only mentioned exactly once with no information. Don't know why they're playing so coy about Jamie for so many episodes.

'Disney’s ‘Tangled’ Live-Action Movie Hits the Pause Button' ^There's not much more info than what's in the title. On one hand, yes-- maybe slow down on the remakes; on the other hand, Tangled is one of my favorite princess movies from the CGI era, and I was curious about how they would interpret it for live action. --- The article also mentions that a live-action Hercules is in development; and for that one, I think I'd rather them perfect the stage show instead. I dunno, the original is very "nineties"; and yes, I'm sure they'd update the references, but I feel like it has a certain 'vibe' that can't really be replicated.

This is probably the most 'Sherlock Holmes'-ish episode yet; but I'm not really here for that. So the medical mystery turned out to not be one at all, since they were faking. Well, I guess Irene had to teach Jr. the art of grifting pretty early, with her cancer and all. I think it was to wash off/corrupt the blood, so that no one else would be able to get Sherlock's DNA.

Eeeehhhhh.... This week Equalizer does Criminal Minds. I was not into it; I get enough of serial killers on The Hunting Party. And just so we're clear: this was a new criminal(s), and not someone we saw last season, right? Because I know there are episodes I've completely forgotten about! I kinda wanted to see Aunt Vi fake it through an Art History class more than watching Dee be mopey and make bad decisions. Fashion highlights: Robyn's floral shirt; and both of Aunt Vi's outfits, which weren't over the, top for a change.

Some discussion at Deadline about the Equalizer's renewal chances: Also mentions that CBS's schedule next season is pretty packed between returning and new shows.

Vague teases about the finale here: https://www.tvinsider.com/1184049/found-season-2-ending-gabi-sir-shanola-hampton-mark-paul-gosselaar/ Sounds like another cliffhanger.

A good description of the "Science Person" procedural trope form this article: https://www.avclub.com/silly-pop-culture-jobs-the-accountant-veep-severance Similar to doctors on medical show who practice ALL the medicine; and lawyers who handle ANY case involving ANY law.

I guess the NYC animation short was the same idea as the George Washington sketch, but what really made it great for me was Bowen and Longfellow's voiceovers. I'm cool with them doing more snarky commentary on whatever. But I do always wonder how these NYC specific sketches play for everyone not familiar with the city. "Nobody knows." I feel like there was a good idea there, but they didn't push it far enough to absurdity. Also maybe the host/girlfriend needed to be more broad(?) to counter Longfellow's straight man. Ouch! at this shade at the Jonas Bros. 😂

No new episode this week, but the next 3 synopses are out, and it seems like it's going to be a rollercoaster of plot twists: ------ Sooo... the accomplice is Heather? "Details of Jaime's childhood kidnapping are revealed."... 8 episodes later. I'll believe when I see it. "Margaret confronts a familiar face ..." -- outside of the main cast, the recurring character that I think makes the most sense is Margaret's husband; unless they introduce someone else soon.

General Pilot & Shows In Development Discussion

Thought this was an good A-plot; but I don't think they needed that extra twist at the end with the blonde Russian agent.I wish these writers would learn to flesh out the A-plots, and have only one minor B-plot instead of two. It'd be great if they could occasionally connect the two, as well. The writing has never been great here. ::sigh:: Ooh... Rose's "husband" is cute! He can stop by anytime. I skipped Marissa's subplot, and I'm sure I didn't miss much. So they're going to make Kylie a field agent? Looking back at the season, they really didn't seem to know what to do with her. Although, she did have a few interesting side plots. Instead of an FBI agent, I'd rather they have her go back to being a super hacker and work with Rose at her new business. --Assuming that next season they make Rose a full regular character. Surprised Alec isn't getting the scars removed; I thought that's what they were trying to build toward throughout the season. It's not really something that affects the show much now, but I was thinking that Jesse would eventually get tired of having to get the makeup for that. Again, looking back at the season, adding another research assistant really didn't add much, if anything. So Phoebe has a love interest now -- nobody was asking for that. Yeah; I'm ignoring that tiny cliffhanger at the end.
