  1. 🤦‍♀️ Doh. I mistook the "CA" for "Canada".
  2. "Your father left us with a legacy of bad debt covered by a good name." (Or something quite close to that.) So, they still have name caché despite being poor. Ruth then goes on to be extremely dramatic about if Rose wants to watch her "return to work as a seamstress."
  3. This season will have Canadians... there's 1. It's like when a band announces a "North American" tour and the only stop outside of the US in in Toronto. That being said, glad this show is back. It's always a fun watch.
  4. How am I supposed to write for a guy who has no head?!
  5. As someone who this week will be seeing Maverick in the theatre for the third time, I'll make a hasty retreat from this thread, but will toss out that Love Actually is not quite as beloved as some like to claim. Over the past several years, there have been lots of talk about how bad some of the story lines truly are. (Cue the chorus of: LAURA LINNEY, TURN OFF YOUR DAMN PHONE.)
  6. One of the greatest lines out of the entire Cobra Kai series (which I think is phenomenal), is a random person yelling out during a hearing over the All Valley Tournament as Daniel is speaking, "I thought YOU were the bully!" It was absolutely perfectly delivered, and such a great call out to this theory.
  7. There's a 4-years later follow up! Leslie is not allowed to cook anymore. 😆
  8. "How are they gonna get enough material?" That absolutely slayed me. 😆 Love the clip from Global Calgary. Remind me to only ever eat food from Safeway if in Cowtown...
  9. I'm wracking my brain - is this from an Indy movie? I don't recall the scene.
  10. Same as how Kanye can be both bi-polar and a massive a-hole. The previous conservatorship wasn't the best, but she clearly needs help. My armchair diagnosis is that she is mentally and emotionally stunted.
  11. One burning questions Mr. Market and I have - when Derek (and Claire) hit the final mat, his shirt was clean (albeit sweaty). During the TH, Derek had a visible red stain on his shirt. I thought initially dried blood, and kept waiting for him to bonk his nose. Mr. Market thinks maybe they gave them food between final mat and filming the TH, and it's BBQ sauce. Enjoyed the finale. The wrong turn/way definitely set the sisters back. I have no idea why Michelle decided to climb up the bridge the way she did. The final task was a great one. I would still be there.
  12. Anyone else catch what appears to be the Millennium Falcon flying? That can't not be intentional. 😀 Really excited for this one.
  13. I thought Aubrey was really mature and gracious in her exit at the mat. When Phil mentioned "bittersweet" she responded kindly, "not bitter at all." They made the right call in taking the penalty, especially when it was obvious they were last and not catching up. I noticed all of them had trouble speaking when they first got out of the water, so strong swimmer or not, that frigid water wasn't helping. Beautiful scenery for the penultimate leg.
  14. YES! This is an important distinction. Inside the Space Needle? Enjoying the view. Outside on the observation deck where I can feel the air? Gripping onto the side like it's the end of the Titanic. These last two episodes have reignited a desire to go back to Spain.
  15. I definitely felt for Claire, because just like @30 Helens I would be worse too. (I took a chairlift this summer, and it wasn't pretty.) And then she had the wherewithal to apologize! I didn't think Derek was criticizing her either. I immediately had Austin Power thoughts too, and laughed out loud at the "5 minutes later". Did anyone else also yell PIVOT?! 😆 The dressing the dancer seemed the easier of the two, but could have been more physical if you had to run back and forth multiple times. (It didn't look easy slamming those final bricks in, however.) I like all the teams left, but at this point a slight lean towards Luis and Michelle. I will be surprised if Emily and Molly make it to the final leg with the knee issues.
  16. Phoebe, I'm sorry. I think Jacques Cousteau is dead.
  17. Of course, that's the logical assumption to make. But since we never see/hear the rest, it could technically be anything. "Hey Ben, I did actually want to name her Judy." "Hey Ben, we're out of toilet paper."
  18. I've seen a lot of comments about how they hope recent implementations at Disneyland (Genie+, reservation system) will be turfed with Iger returning - however those were already underway when Iger retired. Chapek simply implemented them. However, it does sound like Iger is far more concerned with the customer experience overall. I love Disneyland (haven't been since 2019 due to... y'know, world) but I've mostly heard horror stories about the state of maintenance on the rides. It hasn't made me want to return anytime soon.
  19. Cutting Edge for the pure nostalgia and goofy lines. "Tooooooooe piiiiiiiic!" Major League and Talladega Nights for the laughs. The Natural for the beauty of how its filmed and fantastic acting. (And yes, I still get goosebumps when the music swells during the ending.)
  20. This is very much movie-dependent. If I go see the latest Minions movie, I am not going to be mad there's children in the same theatre. The 6 year old who sat next to me during Dark Knight (and proceeded to squirm, fidget, and lean over to his dad and talk during most of it)? No. The dad apologized afterwards, and I bit my tongue instead of telling him that maybe DK wasn't the best movie for a young kid.
  21. And Ben's immediate knowledge of which room, when Jen referred to it as "the Victorian nightmare".
  22. @tribeca - while we are only internet acquaintances, please don't hesitate to reach out and lean on us. I am so sorry for what you've experienced.
  23. My mom gave me a copy of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes as a child, and it's always been a favourite, albeit tragic read. I loved that Judy made all the cranes, and the symbolism of "she's here" at the end. The show seemed to leave a few things open to interpretation (or perhaps it was plot holes). I choose to believe that the Greeks killed the FBI agent, but Perez stole the files (and trashed the room), and they closed the case and accepted that Judy killed Steve. We will never know what Jen was about to admit to Ben, but it was a fun cliffhanger to end on. Overall, I really loved the season, and this episode in particular. As mentioned before, it was great to see a female friendship play out like this.
  24. I went through a long phase where I would croak out "Cornuuuuuts..." if I was eating them. OK, so I still do that.
  25. I'm originally from Vancouver, where a lot of things are filmed, and it stands in for a lot of different places. We laugh at those beautiful mountains in the background... that are generally not found in say, the Bronx.
