  1. I am so hoping that when the two actors dressed as fighter pilots walking past Sam and Justine at a studio was a small call out to Top Gun. I'm not sure exactly what year we're supposed to be in, but the era fits.
  2. I believe it was kids playing soccer. I guess the teacher was hedging his bets that Daya could wield enough influence on the outside. He wouldn't know that she was basically a poser. In his mind, she's a serious thug with cred and low friends on the outside.
  3. The GED teacher was shown a photo (which Daya found on his Instagram feed) of younger children he coached.
  4. I was using the terms residents and citizens interchangeably, which I understand led to confusion. To the original point, I agree that TARC contestants should be citizens. The argument still stands if they should also be current residents.
  5. I'm torn between wanting Dave and Irina punted ASAP, or having them make it to the end, only to come in second. (I think to them, second would be an even worse fate than third.) The pouting at the final map would be epic. If TARC maintains the same regulations as TAR US, then at some point Irina will need to step up and attempt tasks - Dave cannot do all the road blocks, for example. That, or they continue to take penalties...
  6. I wonder given the severe hearing impairment, why Trish and Amy would have chosen the dancing task. I may have missed a moment when the explained their decision vs. the maze? They are certainly born under a lucky star to be saved by a NEL twice.
  7. Did anyone else think the disappearing women off the plane meant they had died when they were returned? It was my first thought and would also explain
  8. Echoing many others here, I too could have used a quick recap of how major players were doing 1 year later - especially Dick and Weevil. I would have even accepted status quo, because at least it was something. The ending just seemed so unfinished.
  9. I'm sure they are Canadian residents, as in, they hold Canadian passports. (I'm guessing that is a requirement to be eligible to be on the show.) I had to laugh yesterday, as I took a Harbour Air float plane flight, clearly filled with people (such as myself) who were back and forth for the day for work. Everyone was nodding off or flipping through a magazine. A far cry from the racers who ooh'd and ahh'd at the scenery (as they should, it's really incredible.) Anyone who lives on Vancouver Island knows Coombs and the goats on the roof of the market, so I was not surprised when James/Anthony got the answer right away. I loved them all sitting there, waiting out their penalties. Also, did anyone else find it odd that they had a major product placement for a Huawei phone? Given the ongoing tensions between Canada and China due to the arrest of a Huawei executive, I thought it was misplaced. I'm still flabbergasted that the company is being advertised in Canada.
  10. I also found it odd that Veronica did not catch on immediately to Penn's pretty blatant threat of retribution while he was in the police car. As soon as he said "IF you're around" and "My contingencies have contingencies" I knew something was up. I know she was still reeling from almost losing Keith, but her mind was always sharper than that. She came up with these pretty outrageous theories (that panned out), but didn't catch on to an obvious threat?
  11. At least Leo might still be single? Too soon? Perhaps a re-watch at a much slower pace is required, but I found S4 Veronica to be even harder and more cynical than before. I'm not asking her to be rainbows and sunshine, but it was something that stuck with me through the whole season. I like sarcastic, quick-witted Veronica who can be caustic when required but this seemed over the top. I think I just loved the movie so much - with all the characters being used well, the callbacks, and the seemingly tidy bow they gave the ending. This season was a disappointment in the end.
  12. Perhaps it's a bit of schadenfreude, but I laughed at watching Irina stand outside freezing her butt off for 2 hours after refusing to jump into the lake. I thought TAR also penalized teams for taking other's cabs? Or is that only the American version?
  13. Bob tweeted that he said "I wish they got eight", as in 8 leg wins. Obviously he was being sarcastic. I'm glad it wasn't what many of us initially thought. Bob also confirmed it was Rex who was bleeped, although they didn't say what was said.
  14. Did I correctly hear Bob say he hoped NutMeg "got AIDS"? I've let their ridiculous and bitchy behaviour go, but that is crossing the line and completely offensive.
  15. I hate Ciera. The kid is well-deserving of some serious discipline and a lot of talking to.
