  1. For some inexplicable reason, one line from Parker Lewis sticks in head, and it's a break of the 4th wall, where he says, "Who does this guy think he is, Ferris Bueller?"
  2. There is an LGBTQIA+ friendly establishment where I live called Friends of Dorothy. They do drag brunches. (Apparently the cocktails are good, but I digress.)
  3. And some of us were never good at math, and don't use that type of math in our day to day lives.
  4. I forgot to mention in my earlier post the one line that absolutely sent me over the edge. Nya crying that she's accomplished all these things, but doesn't have a man to share it with. GIRL, NO. Wanting to have someone to share in life's big moments and wins is one thing, but it was worded in such a way that it diminished her completely because a man wasn't there to appreciate it.
  5. I can understand making your children a priority in your life, but Aiden is acting (as others have said) like he's chained to his farmhouse and unable to do anything other than win a staring contest with Wyatt. Where is Kathy in all this? "I was the constant, she was always flitting off with a boyfriend, blah blah" - way to toss her right under that bus, you knob. Your kid needs therapy, not a helicopter parent. As much as I generally loathe Carrie, I thought her reaction was pretty measured. Especially when Seema asked if she thinks they'll come back. (Although, that doesn't say much likely for how seriously deep down inside she took this relationship.) I love Harry, but I'm glad Charlotte informed him that making a few breakfasts doesn't win him parenting awards. I'm handwaving, but perhaps the situation Miranda had to be interviewed about was an ongoing somewhat breaking news story (something about migrants?) so it's not entirely out of the question that she would interview on a 24-hour news channel, no matter the time.
  6. I have literally no idea how you solve math equations, even on paper, so major props to Ben or Anwar (sorry I forget which of them did it) for just popping off the answer off the top of his head. Derek and Jaspal had moments last night where their true personalities shined through, and it was much nicer to see than their phony made-for-TV over the top ones.
  7. I think JA is a lot more like Alex, her Morning Show character, than people may like to believe. (For those who don't watch the show - Alex is quite thoroughly unlikeable at times, although remains popular).
  8. Mr. Market and I were discussing Fyre 2.0 and how it's allegedly sold 100 tickets so far. Our conclusion is that people are so desparate to be a part of something, they'll shell out money for this - maybe hoping it's another disaster so they can say they were there.
  9. I always wondered if some poor, unassuming tourist wanders into a Continental looking for a room.
  10. I vaguely remember something about IVF? Also the ambivalence leaning towards not wanting.
  11. Wyatt is more than a typical 14 year old. The way he was angry at his dad for not texting immediately and he was tracking the plane? Are they implying he's on the spectrum? (Dear god no. The show is not capable of handling that well.) Or he's got abandonment issues from his parents' divorce? And gee show, could you drop any more anvils that Carrie will keep her old apartment, and rent to the younger woman downstairs?
  12. Was the diving task a detour? In that case, they can switch if only one person needs to perform it. On a road block, there is no switching.
  13. Hopefully now that Gracie/Lily are gone, Derek and Jaspal will calm down on their incensant "gotta beat our rivals" narrative they've been creating, because I don't think Ty and Kat play that game like G/L did. I may be a lone dissenter, but I wasn't that sorry to see them leave. They were competent racers, but there was something about them that bugged me. Gracie's laugh was nails on a chalkboard too. Kayleen calmly saying "I'm a commercial diver" was great. I was surprised at how many of the contestants had diving certifications. Jermaine had me in stitches with his line about coming back for the solo edition of the race. He is a saint for how well he's put out with Justin's BS.
  14. Couples sleeping in separate bedrooms is not that uncommon. (We do, and we've been happily married for over 17 years.) It provides better rest if one snores, is restless, or keeps different hours than the other. What I can never understand is the need for 3+ bedrooms due to "all the family and friends" that are coming. Like, are you now a hotel? Will you be full every night of the year? Sorry, but if I'm providing you a free place to stay in Europe/Asia/Australia/The Moon, you may have to deal with a pull out couch in the office area for a few days.
  15. Is E10 the last of this season? There were a few wrap ups and a few cliffhangers, so I wouldn't be surprised. Putting in spoiler tags for those who aren't caught up yet. I was absolutely not surprised that: Daniel continues to be tied with Frank for THE WORST. Green is not his colour. Boy he is immature and jealous. Also immature? Cecil. I'm sorry, but his character got progressively more annoying and childish as the season went on. I was hoping for a resolution to that, but nope.
  16. I was with a group of ladies from work, and we literally cheered in the car as we were squeezed in. 😆 I've also been the recipient of the cone of shame.
  17. I did not watch Euphoria, and didn't know who Cloud was, but 25 is way too damn young. My heart breaks for his family, burying one relative and then another so soon.
  18. I grew up with PeeWee's Playhouse and PeeWee's Big Adventure. Last I saw Paul was as Oswald/Penguin's dad on Gotham. While the show was bonkers much of the time and hard to stick with, he was absolutely perfectly cast in that role, and as the father of Robin Lord Taylor. A big piece of my childhood just died. F cancer.
  19. I have serious bias, because I live in Victoria, and consider it my home (while I am originally from Vancouver), but this was a great episode! While Greater Victoria isn't massive, they covered some good KMs on this leg - especially driving from Nanaimo to the Skywalk, then down to Victoria, then out to Sooke. I do call shennanigans on the ferry though - a team who left Whistler at 12:15 should not be on the same ferry as a team who left Whistler at 4:00. (They currently leave every 2 hours, this was filmed in the spring, so would be a different schedule slightly, but still, and I digress...) I wonder if Lily is aware that Victoria used to house a Bateman gallery downtown, but it closed? (Sorry, Lily.) Also, I checked, Craigderroch doesn't actually have a Haunted Mansion exibit on. BOO. (Still well worth going to.) Glad J&J did well this episode. (And note to self, don't go to the Bug Zoo.) They really ripped right through that tent task. Same as @Lady Calypso I am having a harder time connecting to Deven and also find something rubbing me the wrong way. He and Amanda seem to make little mistakes that add up and keep them towards the back. I don't actively dislike any of the teams, but Derpal is a bit much most of the time.
  20. This was (with some modifications, ex: Julia doesn't die) part of the plot of MI:III. I didn't love this one nearly as much as I love the others in the franchise. I found Grace annoying, frankly. I agree with @dovegrey on the second bolded point. Why was Ethan so desperate to save a woman who keeps leaving him in peril? There also is no context to Gabriel and their history with Ethan, minus a random flashback that has never been part of any of the movies. But the stunts were cool.
  21. I can appreciate taking a penalty on the bungie jumping, because even if you don't think you have a fear of heights, hurling yourself off a platform with only a spongy cord attached to your legs/torso is not a plesant thought. But quitting the second task was ridiculous. A few teams seemed to suffer from lack of communication at the table challenge. If you keep getting a no from the judge, start yelling out things, like, "Which way are the forks?" "Are the cushions tied?" Etc. It's not like they couldn't speak to one another. I can understand why Justin and Jermaine took the assist - they were trying to get to the mat to start their penalties as quickly as possible. It's hard not to root for Ty/Kat, and you could tell that taking a coach bus was emotional for him.
  22. Catching up on episodes, so just finished the one with the ATV-log challenge. It seemed unfair to those who went later, as the mud pit got deeper and more difficult to navigate after others had completed. You could see that more competitors were using the winch in later heats.
  23. I believe Eleanor is her only wife. She mentioned a few episodes ago about when she transitioned, she thought she would lose everything, but "her wife stayed". (Paraphrasing slightly.) My guess is they had Caroline, then Jerri transitioned, then they had more kids who grew up with two moms.
  24. I was in hysterics when they were reading those. I assume those are made up maganizes - see, writers deserve a raise! Craig continues to be the cutest, Frank continues to be the worst, and that was a heavy episode for Jerri. And stupid me took too long to figure out why the "step mom" (Eleanor) was seeing the grandkid. DUH. That's Caroline's biological mother. 🤦‍♀️ I really liked the backstory of how long all of them have known each other, and how Harry is Caroline's godfather.
