  1. We actually had a restaurant in Boston called The No Name. It's lack of a name was it's name! :)
  2. They filmed all of Bridgerton in England during the same time period, so I don't think we can say that it was Covid protocols that are causing the weird filming...when you think about it, this show has always been a little cautious about people touching. The only couple I can really remember kissing is Tom and Barbara.
  3. Did Gordon dump the burned butter into the gas burner? I think that’s what I saw?
  4. On the listing they said they've partnered with a non-profit to provide a hospitality training program to young women aging out of foster care...so that's who'll take care of the chickens, etc. I think that sounds like a great idea.
  5. My mother had ‘the talk” with me when I was in 4th grade (so 9 years old). She had a book with pictures of your anatomy, supplied by Tampax (she sent away for it), and showed me what a sanitary napkin was. I was horrified and embarrassed. We had the official school sex education in the sixth grade (boys were separated from girls), and there was no talk of how you dealt with your period. So the nuns were quite progressive! I didn’t get my period until I was 13, so it was a long time to wait to see what all the fuss was about. :)
  6. The only downside to that tiny kitchen was the two burner stove…I would have an issue with that.
  7. They’re getting a season two…saw the announcement on their instagram!
  8. I like that this show is realistic in showing people who won’t accept Paige’s advice. I can’t believe they willingly waste so much money by relying on their “gut”!
  9. I don't mind the promotional bits, it's how they pay for the show. And I might be mis-remembering, but wasn't there a challenge once upon a time where they actually did have to make plane food? A meal that could be served on a plane and had to meet certain requirements for size, taste and ability to be reheated?
  10. I couldn’t believe that yet again they had a kitchen with so little counter space!
  11. I was disappointed in that too, but I wonder if Helen George had to limit her working time…she looked pretty pregnant, and maybe she was exhausted, or worried about Covid. I work with a doctor whose parents survived the Holocaust because they were on Schindler’s List, and you can tell that he was raised to look for the worst outcome, although he has made that work for him in his research. Because I know him, and other children of survivors, this episode really hit home for me. I thought they did a really good job.
  12. Melanie Moore is playing Scout in the national tour of To Kill A Mockingbird…saw it last night, and she was excellent.
  13. I guess if you can afford a million dollar house, you can have a masseuse make house calls. :)
  14. This episode handled death so well…I was present when both my parents died, and it was exactly as pictured. I loved the buttercups…they looked exactly like the ones I remember as a kid. I don’t remember this show addressing alcoholism before…they did a good job with it.
  15. It would have been so sexy for her to have a chemise and a corset…as a costume person, it just took me out of the scene to have her wearing something so out of the one (her bra/corset thing too)
  16. Minor quibble: why was Kate wearing my grandmother’s pettipants in her love scene with Anthony? The costume decisions for this season have been headscratchers.
  17. My stackable washer and dryer are in a little closet, and I never have any problems with mold/mildew etc. That said, two washer/dryers seems like overkill. I wasn’t all that impressed with any of the designs this week, but I thought Jenny and Dave’s dry sauna was awesome. But I live in Massachusetts and the idea of a sauna at home sounds wonderful. At the end of the day, paying $1M to be right on top of my neighbors is a no go for me.
  18. The laughing mother and daughter were so annoying! And the thought of perching on that toilet…
  19. They have both, but there are usually only about 5 on a flight (they have their own little cabins...). I'm pretty sure Erica Rose wasn't flying true first class...so why didn't she spring for her mother to have a lie flat seat? :)
  20. I didn’t understand why the mother wasn’t in business class along with the daughter and husband? (First class isn’t really a thing anymore except on a few airlines). Erica is an attorney…imagine selecting her to represent you in court? That VOICE.
  21. Those white cabinets looked like the cabinets in my apartment, which are covered in laminate, which would be tough to paint. I wonder if the blue was laminate too? I didn’t love that backsplash, it was pretty, but it looked like it would be hard to keep clean with all those nooks and crannies.
  22. I actually got her point…the tile in the shower was kind of gross, and the Formica counters in the kitchen too.
  23. Eddie’s whataboutism was really bad, but from the way Rayna knew exactly what string of words he was talking about, and said them (I had no idea), I can believe she said them. And her parading of her gay bonafides smacked of “but I have a black friend”. Poor Wes…he never got an apology from Rayna, and I was glad that Captain Lee singled him out.
  24. The way Rayna kept throwing Wes’ mixed race parents at him like it gave him a get out of jail free card…sorry, Rayna, but to the average man on the street, Wes is Black. I’m pretty sure he’s had a lot of tough times too, but he didn’t seem to have a GIANT chip on his shoulder.
  25. I was really surprised they didn’t go with the Beverly house…schools are better, and Salem is horrific in the fall.
