  1. This week (11/22) the owners chose to list it, and I have to admit I was shocked. Hilary did a beautiful job, and I really thought they’d love it.
  2. I thought the shape of Praaje’s dress was beautiful, but the fabric was a bad choice. If it had been made in a 4 ply silk crepe, it would have fallen better. I did love the color, and the gloves looked like bouquets (not my favorite accessory). I actually liked the bag that Zayden’s designer made the best, it’s too bad he didn’t make a better dress. Again, I think it was fabric choice…that fabric looked almost handwoven and wasn’t going to work for that neckline.
  3. My sister’s house is built on a slope like that, but it’s built so that the house rests on top of the hill, and then there is a deck off of the back, and stairs with multiple decks down to the ground. It’s nice because it means she has a walkout basement. However, her driveway is at the bottom, not resting on beams on the top of the hill…that was crazy! And considering the time that flip took, the idea that they couldn’t fix the design and get re-permitted made no sense.
  4. I didn’t understand why they didn’t at least mask that ugly plywood view under the driveway with some fake greenery (those lattice things that you can buy). And agree about the lack of a dining room, what were they thinking? Clearly, they weren’t. They seemed really clueless about a lot of the process.
  5. Except did that room for the grandkids have enough beds? Other than that I loved the design…those handmade tiles were gorgeous in the kitchen and the bathroom.
  6. Totally off topic…I met him in a hotel bar (all the skaters were there after a Stars on Ice show), and he couldn’t have been ruder. And then my mother and I walked by Kristi Yamaguchi and Paul on our way to the parking garage and he actually put his arm around her and turned her away from us. Scott Hamilton was gracious. :)
  7. Sunshine Coast: is a mile walk to the beach really that bad? I loved the country house, and grew up with a 15 minute drive to the grocery store, so 20 minutes didn’t seem like a dealbreaker.
  8. I thought Iman was about 6’8”. Scary to realize he’s only 3 inches taller than my niece (who, admittedly, is very tall).
  9. I raised my eyebrows at Heather’s back story about being bullied “because she was the only blonde white girl at her school”. Really?
  10. Haha…I have two nephews (one 20, one 22) who could give him a run in the skinny sweepstakes.
  11. I liked the couple on last night's episode...they went way over budget, but at least it looked like they did everything Tarek said, and that woodgrain tile in the primary bath was really nice. The post in the kitchen wasn't great, but they did a decent job of working around it. And am I weird, because I kind of like the stove in a little niche, it seems like it would help contain aerosolized grease?
  12. But he was 13, and they made him move halfway across the globe, where he didn’t have any friends (or even cousins). I felt bad for him.
  13. Australia: When the Dad was talking about where to live, and the mother commented that the 13 year old son would have a long (about an hour each way) commute to school, did I actually hear him say "It's not about him"?. What a selfish jerk.
  14. Rotterdam: Teja was a pleasure to watch…no weird demands, no complaints about the smallish rooms or the prices. I would have picked number 1, but number 2 was nice too.
  15. I can’t remember her name…I looked for her on insta, and there was a link to the website.
  16. They do have a website, poorly designed and full of misspellings. They are offering a “yoga retreat” in March, 2022 for $1570, with no description of what your room actually looks like.
  17. I loved everything about that house…even the overstuffed living room. I’d kill for that kitchen, and the *pantry*! Their aesthetic is me all over (if you saw my apartment you’d understand)…except I do like some color. I loved that they saved the china cabinet and modernized it by painting it black. The brown chair had memories, but it looked worn. Loved, loved, loved that they incorporated her drawings. And the island that wasn’t an island…I could go on and on. Can’t wait until next week, and then I hope they get a second season.
  18. I was really surprised when last night’s couple decided to list it! I though the remodel solved pretty much every problem (except for the teeny closets). The loftice was great!
  19. I didn’t understand why the parents would be visiting, when their son was living with them?
  20. Boston University has a 6 year med school program. I worked with one of the graduates…he seemed so young, even though he had completed residency and was working on an interventional cardiology fellowship. I was thinking that Tim would see the advent of effective chemotherapy, and combination protocols. In 1966, there were crude drugs that could perhaps help…nowadays we have targeted chemotherapy, and cancer isn’t necessarily a death sentence. My grandmother was born in 1896, her mother was a midwife, and my grandmother lived to be 103. She was always astounded by the amazing strides in medicine (including the “operation” (never named) after my first uncle was born that let her have 6 more kids)!
  21. I thought last night’s house was beautiful, but I didn’t understand that closet…it looked like there was only about 3 feet of hanging space. I know they had to work with what was there, but it seemed impractical. And they still didn’t have a whole lot of storage in the kitchen, although it was beautiful. One thing I noticed on this show is that they don’t give the budget, unless I missed it? I like Farmhouse Fixer (Jon Knight’s show), because at least they give realistic budgets, not like some of the other shows where they do the entire house for $50,000. And for once the house wasn’t black, with all black and wood inside!
  22. I loved that Paul was crying laughing during Prue’s holes/squirting soliloquy. I was crying laughing too. I live in Boston (MA) and we just got a donut shop near work (Blackbird Donuts), which doesn’t have cronuts, but has a maple bacon donut that is *out of this world*. And their Boston Cream is excellent too. And now I have to avoid the store!
  23. How much do you want to bet that the buyer ripped out that primary bathroom and redid it?
  24. If you follow them on instagram, they show more shots of the whole house.
