  1. I have hemochromatosis. The reason you are discouraged from eating raw fish is because of a gram positive bacteria called vibrio that can show up in raw shellfish (especially oysters), raw fish, and in sea water (where it can infect you through an open wound). Everyone is susceptible to the infection, but most people just get fever/vomiting. If you have hemochromatosis, you *may* develop sepsis. It's very rare to do that. And if you let the ER staff know that you have hemochromatosis, they'll give you prophylactic antibiotics to head off the sepsis. I eat sushi and walk on the beach.
  2. I noticed that the empanada truck was using premade wrappers…no more dough drama, I guess, so there had to be relationship drama again. One long loose hair offender is gone, can’t wait for the others. I can’t believe Tyler never says anything about that! But he was right to call them out on prices this week…they should just put a $15 top limit on prices. I’m in Boston, and that’s the most I’ve ever paid at a food truck.
  3. Plates guy going on and on about hygiene and food safety while his partner had all that hair hanging in the food. I can’t wait for one of the customers to pull a long black hair out of a sandwich.
  4. Ty’s team’s house was just bad. All those raw door jambs and baseboards next to the dark walls looked cheap. Ugh. Alison’s team was so inefficient, and took so much of her (bad) advice. I like Taniya the most, so I was glad her team won, but I also think they did the best job (aside from that dumb cold plunge wooden tub).
  5. Very true, but I don't think anyone who does one of these Bravo cruises is very rich. Comfortable, but not rich. Just judging by their luggage and their clothes. :)
  6. I think I read once that when they do things like move plumbing around, it's not really done in the 7 days, they just have unplumbed faucets/toilets/showers as stand-ins. All I could think of when I saw Alison's "stone" was how filthy it would be because it would be impossible to clean without scaffolding!
  7. First episode: HATED the winning kitchen, and why did Alison’s mentees close up the windows to the beach? That was the whole reason they moved the kitchen, and they were left with that narrow view of the ocean? Of course that horrible fake stone should have been thrown away when it arrived. I liked Tanya’s couples kitchen the best.
  8. Re Michelle's biscuits...why didn't she cut them into rounds before she cooked them? They would have cooked faster and she could have fit them into her mosaic idea, sort of. Or at least cut them into squares. Part of the charm of a biscuit is the edges.
  9. Didn’t Juan, Vinnie and one of the female couple speak Spanish?Ricky and Cesar were good at the physical challenges (baseball, anyone?), good at the puzzles, good At the “entertainment” challenges, and good at navigating. I was happy for their win.
  10. I agree about Sofia…she’s unlikeable, and the actress isn’t skilled enough to make unlikeable interesting. I felt for Molly this episode…we’ve all crushed on someone who isn’t available, and Maya played that perfectly.. and on a completely shallow note, Nat Faxon’s teeth gross me out.
  11. I agreed with the chef that the eggs benedict didn't need extra crap on the plates...the sprig of parsley was enough. The dessert from the night before was a beautiful plate, so clearly he knows what he's doing. Frazier is KILLING me this season...I want him to just do his job and quit gossiping and setting other crew members against each other. It made me uncomfortable to watch him flirt with the guest (wearing his shirt, really?)...have we seen any other stews or deckies do that on charter? Maybe a couple of times? And it made me uncomfortable then too.
  12. I used to love to see what Cat was wearing each week…tonight’s glittery romper outfit bunched in a very weird place. Give me back my glamorous Cat!!
  13. I know Rod is tall, but seeing him jump over the fence was impressive!
  14. I don’t understand why Amber and Vinnie didn’t just chase Ricky and Cesar. Clearly they had gotten directions, and the worst thing that would have happened is that they both would have missed the pitstop.
  15. I think I may be done…if they wanted to provide a place for the homeless, why buy a 600 room hotel that needs to be renovated? They could buy the IHG hotel franchise with less than half of Molly’s money. But I guess then it wouldn’t be a comedy.
  16. Noah Springer, the primary. His dad, Timothy Springer, is a famous immunologist and one of the co-founders of Moderna.
  17. Noah’s dad, Timothy Springer, showed up on the Forbes Billionaire list today. He’s won the Lasker Prize (next step is the Nobel), and is a professor at Harvard Medical School…he must be so proud of his trust fund son.
  18. Were team Bargain Block the only ones to add an extra bedroom with an ensuite on the main floor? That might be good for the total valuation, especially if these homes are meant to be vacation rentals.
  19. I liked Keith/Ryan's the best. But what I thought about was hanging around in those backyards with your neighbors literally on top of you! You'd hear every word of their conversations. Ugh.
  20. Geez, you can buy a murder mystery game and have it on hand for dumb theme nights. I'm willing to bet you can even print one right off of the internet. More producer shenanigans. Chef needs help with the pots and pans, I don't remember any other chef being stuck with all of them, there was always someone washing in the galley.
  21. Where do you see that the models were underage? I don't think their ages were ever disclosed. It's very common for designers to fit on a nude model, so that are they working with the way the garment will be worn. If you watch the Valentino doc from a few years ago, you see them draping directly on the model.
  22. I’m watching the new season…I still love hearing the background stories of the golfers (and seeing them work out, so much for golf being a lazy man’s game). The episode about sports psychologists was really interesting to me, I used to work with a woman who treated figure skaters.
  23. I would have outed Phaedra too…she was clearly in a bloc that was going to carry her to the end. And I’m sorry, but all the “bless you” stuff just turned my stomach. I can’t stand her and her eyelashes. MJ…I agree with John. It’s a game, and you didn’t contribute to the pot, so why should you share it? I do agree that CT and Trishelle should have said that, it would have been a hard stop. I hope that they invite Peppermint and a couple of other members of the RuPaul cohort next year…I think they’d be great contestants.
  24. Did Phaedra even try the pontoons once? That’s the selfish behavior I thought Kate was referring to.
  25. In the Australian version of the show, the traitors picked off each other one by one. It was pretty fun to watch!
