  1. There is no way James asked to be kicked off. No producer in their right mind would go with the narrative of ripping apart someone's dances, announcing his family suffered a tragic loss, putting him in the bottom two, and then having the judges decide that after having an off night because his wife is literally still in a hospital bed, a dancer who has been close to elimination THREE TIMES deserves to stay over him. That is NOT a good look on them. If James wanted to leave he would have graciously announced it before they even got to the elimination. That way Ally wouldn't feel the backlash of ousting him, which was a really shitty position to be put in. I'm just shocked that James didn't have the votes to overcome the point deficit. I'm guessing burying the announcement in the second to last dance of the night cut back on the chances of sympathy votes. I also wonder if their first dance sort of fell apart because he had no time to rehearse this weekend, so Emma thew in a bunch of padding. I just don't understand what the producers were thinking last night. The way they played things out really optimized backlash, but not in a way that would get the media talking. In a way that would just turn off fans and chase away viewers. That said, Ally is a capable dancer. She's a good performer who makes dance moves look good even if she doesn't do them perfectly. The new format of the show has made it hard to root for her though. I don't dislike her, but the over scoring and constant judges saves is making me actively root against her. Lauren and Hannah are bland and forgettable dancers though, so Team Kel!
  2. Let. Ally. Go. So sorry for James and his family. At least now he’ll have time to grieve instead of practicing for the finale. He deserved to win though.
  3. I was only half paying attention to Write Before Christmas, and had assumed the brother/manager was Drew Seeley's love interest, so it was really jarring when they explicitly stated they were brothers around 2/3 of the way into the movie. Kind of bummed they didn't go for it (you know, without the whole brother part...) The movie was clearly a Love Actually ripoff, but it was still pretty fun.
  4. I'm surprised more people didn't bump the front door out to get additional sq footage. Mina and Jasmine played the final round really smart. Beds and baths are what up appraised values, and take homes into completely different ball parks. Leanne and Allison's designs were too personal. They were designing what they want, and not what buyers want. Do people without kids move into planned developments like that? I wish Mina had won, just because I hated most of Jasmine's choices (the mismatched flooring in the bathroom, the cheap closet unit, that buckling wood slab in the kitchen, and the rusty lockers in the living room) But 4 beds/3.5 bath plus pool in SoCal was definitely the most value added.
  5. Because Christmas now starts on November 1.
  6. I thought all the great rooms/back yards were awful. I thought Alison had the best idea for landscaping, but didn't care for the giant fireplace blocking your view and two lonely lawn chairs hidden behind it. The black wall was also too dramatic for me. Jasmine's "pool" was hilariously small, especially when they showed the guys sandwiched in there like sardines while they dug out the hole. The rusty lockers was not a great choice either. It definitely felt like she won because it was her turn. Mina's room was forgettable, and her backyard looked like it was graded so that water would run into the house (not her fault, and I guess California doesn't really worry about those things...) The turf looked really cheap, as did the lawn furniture, which was just kind of there? I really wish Leanne would stop using drop clothes as area rugs, as someone already said, it looks like someone in the crew keeps tripping over it. I didn't like her basket light, but liked the big industrial studio lights she put outside.
  7. That sounds like that show Stay or Sell, I swear, in every single episode, something in the wrong color gets delivered.
  8. The walls are also lined with shelves and cabinets so she can actually store and access her things.
  9. Based on the casting notice, they'll still be in the Raleigh-Durham area: https://www.hgtv.com/shows/be-on-hgtv/do-you-want-to-be-on-love-it-or-list-it-
  10. It also looks like the door between laundry and the master closet was standard... I'm wondering if the builders modified their plans based on what the designers came up with.
  11. I thought the stop work prank was funny, especially the Ford's violation being too much white paint. Although, given what I've just read about Alison Victoria on this board, she may have had a ton of these stop work sheets leftover from her own projects. Leanne's design was ridiculous. She basically removed the entire kitchen and shoved it in the pantry. How is that a functional work space? And Alison's brass island was so fugly. I liked her kitchen best, but was not feeling the island or the the weird pantry accents. Jasmine seems to be in way over her head. At least she has plenty of budget left, so that she can leave a bucket of money in her living room to help raise her appraised value. Mina's was fine, but I hated the towel bar handles. They were all sticking out obnoxiously far. We were waiting for that to come back to bite her. Not only is it not practical, but I'm pretty sure it's a code violation, at least it would be on our county (I live on the East Coast though.) I'm wondering if she maybe put the outlets under the cabinets, since she was running under cabinet lights there anyway.
  12. How did I not realize Alison Victoria hosted DIYs Kitchen Crashers. I used to watch the crashing lineup all the time! That is such a contrast to her current TV persona.
  13. I'm guessing Zombieland 2's cast is a lot more expensive now than it was 10 years ago.
  14. Aside from "The Force will be with you... always," an underwhelming trailer to an underwhelming trilogy.
  15. With lactic acid build up, I don't think you want to be idle for too long, or else your muscles will stiffen up. (or something...) I rolled my eyes at it until he revealed he was listening to "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan.
  16. I'm not sure how I feel about the safety pass, but it was an earned advantage based on his performance in the qualifying round. The penalty of using it is that he had to run the course a second time. This would have been a huge hit if they did the entire tournament in one day, but since ANW needs their nighttime aesthetic, there was probably a day or two to rest, so not a huge hit, but again he earned the advantage, so I'm not sure why players should be penalized for using it.
  17. I spent nearly 20 years actively disliking him because he seemed like a total douche during his Dawson days. Don’t Trust the B and James van der Memes really turned me around on him though. He was so good last night too! I figured he’d be out pretty early, because his nostalgic fan base would be split with Kel Mitchell, but I think he could go far!
  18. I can see Glenn Powell following a Chris Pratt trajectory. I don't think that Top Gun will be the movie that makes him though. He's definitely got IT though. I really like Zoey Deutch too, but she seems to excel more in dry, witty rom-coms and they're only making those on Netfilx (although that worked for Noah Centineo). I just saw that she's doing The Politician, and I think trying out television is a really great move.
  19. Little Rascals is in HBO's rotation right now. I feel like all the Disney Renaissance movies get played on FreeForm every couple of weeks except for Aladdin! I haven't seen the animated version in forever.
  20. I had somehow blocked Badison out and completely forgot that she existed, so when she popped up again, I had the same reaction.
  21. Mary Rain was so infuriating. My favorite part was when she was all incredulous that her friend had been selected for the jury and he would have made an honest and impartial choice, and then a few scenes later after Hillary requested a bench trial, the two lawyers were like "Of course he wasn't taking trial by jury, Mary Rain's friend was a juror for crying out loud!"
  22. The way I see it, there are two sides to Veronica. The victim Veronica whose best friend was murdered and who was raped, and then there’s the self destructive Veronica who is her own worst enemy. Logan has always been the foil to self destructive Veronica, which is why I think he should have left her at the alter. By fridging him, he becomes another tally in the victim Veronica column, where the world is cruel to her, instead of her nature causing her world to implode. And that’s why I’m not really interested in a season 5 Veronica without catalysts like Logan, Keith, Wallace, and Weevil to engage different sides of her moral compass.
  23. I wouldn’t be surprised if Matty got a YA book series or comic.
  24. I could have done without the schmaltzy wedding and let Logan and Veronica live in disfunctional peace, but way to fridge a dude for once. The ending has left me in a total funk though, which is disappointing because it was an otherwise fun season.
