  1. On the east coast, they only interrupted during commercial, so they weren't interrupting in the middle of a scene. I'm assuming they kept the actors on standby during each break. Had there not been interruptions, they would probably know exactly how much time they had between each act break, but instead they had to wait around for each report to finish and probably had less notice on when they would be back on. It seemed like they were all pretty shaky every time they came back from a break. It also didn't help that it appeared John Amos kept forgetting his lines. I thought he did really well with his performance, but there were several beats where he would miss a line or two and the actors would stand around to see if he'd finish and then give up and move on. That definitely hurt the pacing.
  2. From the birth specials, I was surprised that both Kendra and Lauren still had their jewelry on. They had me take all my jewelry off when I checked into the hospital in case I had swelling or needed an emergency C-section. Lauren's birth seemed absolutely miserable. My daughter was sunny side up too, and took FOREVER to come down. My epidural was also questionable, although not bad enough to have them retry it, the nurse's were surprised that I hopped right out of bed and walked to the gurney when we were changing rooms a few minutes after giving birth.
  3. The cost of living and traffic would probably be less in DC than LA. I don't think Jeremy's white privilege would only benefit him there. I think there are still stones to be left unturned in the LA area, since he seems to be mostly in it for the fame.
  4. I've found the quality has not only gone down hill as we get closer to the holiday, but that my favorites from this year's stock have only been okay. I wish instead of trying to churn out 100 movies a season, they'd dial it back and focus on producing some quality movies that people look forward to playing every year (like Nine Lives of Christmas and Snow Bride.) I can't think of a single movie I've watched this year that I'd remember next year.
  5. I cut Good Times some slack, since it was happening in parallel with Impeachment voting, and it seemed like they were pausing production whenever ABC News cut in, so that had to be killing their pacing.
  6. I just had a get together where a bunch of people Jeremy's age filmed a bunch of boomerangs for Instagram. It's just what people do for fun. The whipped cream boomerang that Jeremy made actually looks fun.
  7. To be fair, how many of these Christmas movies include the word "Jesus" in them. Hallmark seems to only celebrate the non-religious commercial side of the holiday. Some consider censoring a commercial including a same sex couple and marriage to be a social injustice, and therefore felt the need to speak up.
  8. I really wanted to like A Beauty & Beast Christmas, but lost interest around the halfway mark. I have it on my DVR, so maybe I'll give it another chance, but I found the "never been kissed" aspect to be off putting.
  9. The Hallmark Channel is a business, and they depend on viewers to succeed. That's why they listen to responses on social media, because that publicity negatively impacts their business. They make decisions not because the internet hurt their feelings, they're making decisions because negative press hurts their bottom line. Telling people to "ban" something isn't bullying, it's using your buying power to influence a company to change course. That's how supply and demand works. They pulled the adds because they feared they were upsetting their primary viewership, but in catering to them, they realized there was a much larger viewership that they were losing.
  10. She held Ivy with a pained expression and then during a talking head discussed that meeting Ivy was bittersweet because she would have been due with "Asa" on the same day. In the actual hospital footage, she also could have just looked tired and defeated after being stuck in a tiny airplane with her inlaws for 10 hours.

  12. I can't believe that in the clusterfuck that was season 8 of Game of Thrones, the HFPA decided that Kit Harrington was the only thing that deserved a nomination. I hope that he wins, just so his acceptance speech can be "I don't want it."
  13. Yes! There's no way an airport would so lackadaisically be closed for the 3 days leading up to Christmas. My sister once got delayed an entire week trying to fly out of NYC after a big holiday storm, so getting bounced around on flights, even while the airport is running would have been perfectly believable. There should have been an ongoing struggle for her to get on a standby list, but constantly giving her seat up because someone needs it more than her to be with their family at Christmas. Also, I don't get why she didn't just go back to her apartment the next morning, when it was weather appropriate to walk to town.
  14. Mistletoe & Menorahs was way better than the prime slot movies on Friday and Saturday. I wish they hadn’t tucked it in a nowhere slot. The lead actress was charming and Jake Epstien was much better suited for this role (Craig 4eva) than the manny one the other night. The toy pitch at the end was really dumb though. I kind of liked Grounded for Christmas. I was excited about the premise, but the execution was underwhelming. The love interest went from an annoyance to TOO PERFECT too quickly. I guess I’ll see how Hallmark does with their fake dating movie next week, but Matt Cohen was such a wet rag on General Hospital, I don’t have high hopes.

    The Star Wars Saga

It’s funny, the prequel trilogy is terrible, but I still find it infinitely more watchable than the new trilogy. I’ll stop and watch the prequels whenever it’s on TV, but I think I’ve only watched The Force Awakens 2 or 3 times and The Last Jedi only once. At least the prequels you can pick apart and find some interesting story threads that sometimes enrich the original trilogy. The new films, while better written and acted, feel so directionless and boring to me. Rogue One is the only new Star Wars movie that I’ll sit down and watch.
  16. So it looks like they have two options if they want to make it as influencers out in LA. They become open minded and tolerant Christians, denounce all the hate they're associated with, and donate to causes that support LGBT and women. Or, they accept that they'll only be partnering with Chick fil a from now on.
  17. I have issues with progesterone too, so getting/staying pregnant is really difficult for me. I've had 3 losses before 6 weeks, so I kind of understand Lauren's grief over Asa (not that I ever named any of them...) because there's this guilt that there's something you could have done if you had your levels checked sooner, or if you upped your dosage. It's also really nerve wracking to have constant spotting. Even with my daughter, I bled between 5 and 9 weeks, and every day waited for it to get heavier and for that to be it. Luckily, like Bella, she's doing great now, but that first trimester was really rough with all the uncertainty. It also sucks to have fertility issues when you're in a famously fertile family. All the women in my family can get pregnant at the drop of a hat, so I sympathize with the pressure Lauren must feel surrounded by all of her pregnant sister in laws.
  18. Blake is hitched to Richard Linklater, and that's about it. It will be interesting to see if he drops him from Merrily We Roll Along. They just started filming in the last year, so that's only one sequence to reshoot, but at the same time, the movie won't come out for 20 years, so he might gamble on this blowing over by then. It's definitely a huge elephant in the room, and I wouldn't be surprised if crew members start protesting Blake's inclusion in the cast.
  19. Now I understand why Nancy McKeon’s appearance in You Light Up My Christmas wasn’t advertised... did she know she was in the movie?
  20. When Kimberly Sustaud’s character announced her name was Marianne, I was like “That can’t be right...” I liked the cast though, so I just accepted the mischaracterizations and moved on.
  21. I think it’s different when someone has passed while someone is pregnant with their future namesake. The grief is still fresh, and some people in the family may be looking to fill the void that that person left, which can be a lot of pressure on the namesake. I’ve heard stories of family members being mad at women for being pregnant with the wrong gender after a loved one has passed because they were supposed to carry on that legacy. Maryella benefits from being part of a large crop of great grandchildren all born around the same time though.
  22. Didn’t Chad Michael Murray’s Hallmark Christmas movie have a same sex couple in it last year? Road to Christmas? I could have sworn one of the brothers had a husband, or maybe he was still a boyfriend.
  23. I’d like to say that’s true, but haven’t Michael Fassbender and Gary Oldman been accused of pretty heinous things by exes? But their exes weren’t famous. And Chris Brown still has a career, and we watched that unfold in real time.
  24. Is Nancy McKeon still in You Light Up My Christmas? They haven’t mentioned her at all in any of the promos touting a Facts of Life reunion.
