  1. That's because Peter had the audacity to take getting engaged very seriously and two months of fantasy dates with twenty other men wasn't a selling point to propose on demand.
  2. Wow. I've stayed away from spoilers and episode descriptions so I did not see that coming. Ben is shady and I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a murder instead of self-inflicted. But I also wonder if, while Cole's been gone, Luisa approached Alison about signing over her rights to Joanie "for show" so that she can get her green card, and that that may have tipped the scales for Alison who was already in a bad way between her father's request, finding out Ben's married, and the airplane incident/arrest/Los Angeles breakdown.
  3. I feel bad for Taystee. I feel bad for Blanca, and Diablo. I hate that Cindy and Taystee's friendship is now strained. I'm guessing this is the last we'll see of Sophia. She's free and she agreed not to talk about what happened to her. Not sure if there's a reason we'd see her again. Good riddance to Carol and Barb, but I don't know that I can stomach another season of Badison. The character and the acting is the worst. I wonder, with Piper out and working on her book, if she will help expose the truth of what happened during the riots and get justice for Taystee. This has been my least-favorite season. The dynamic of the Lichfield ladies is what I like most about the series, and it was severely lacking for me.
  4. The bar scene really endeared me to Caputo and Figueroa's relationship to the point where I'm now rooting for them.
  5. Sophia! Nearly halfway through the season and the only parts I remain interested in and like are when any of the ol' Litchfield girls are interacting with each other. 'Badison' is horrendous and I just now realized that she played annoying Intern Morgan on Grey's Anatomy for a few episodes in season 12. Ugh.
  6. I really hope that at some point this season Cindy reveals the truth about the guards planting Piscatella in the pool and pinning his death on the inmates. I don't think the feds would believe Suzanne, and it'd make up for her snitching that Taystee held the gun; even if it was unintentional.
  7. My feelings exactly. And I don't give a damn about the new guards and inmates. As if the cast of characters isn't large enough. And I'm not thrilled about yet another ultra-shitty guard to abuse the women. I know this is a prison show, but as many have mentioned, there used to at least be some fun and lightness despite the overall dire setting. Now it's hard to see the light.
  8. Tariq is an ungrateful little bastard.
  9. Since Owen and Teddy had sex in episode 17, how far along Teddy's pregnancy is will give a better time frame in determining how long April and Matthew have been together since they started seeing each other again after their moment in episode 19.
  10. Maybe she liked NY or she's under contract at her new hospital with a non-compete clause? I'd imagine once people leave Seattle Grace Mercy Death, they discover a healthy sense of safety and security and don't have a strong desire to go back. Unless you're Teddy. But she has her reasons to be back.
  11. Sara Ramirez/Callie Torres' version of "The Story" playing during the final montage was a wonderful surprise.
  12. CBS passed on a female-driven reboot in favor of the male one? You don't say! /sarcasm That's a bummer. I was looking forward to checking out Sarah Drew in the new role. But I'm sure she will be cast in something soon enough. If one positive thing came out of this double-dismissal, it's that it opened up the potential for other writers and producers to see how beloved these actresses are and they may now have landed on their shortlist for future projects.
  13. If it is acceptable that April and Matthew, who never did get married and have not been in contact for a good many years, can reunite and find love again on the basis of their past and their relateable experiences, it is more than acceptable and feasible for Arizona and Callie. Their connection is even deeper in comparison being that they were together for many years, married, and have a child; which has kept them in each other's lives. There is absolutely basis for them to fall in love again. It's splitting hairs at this point.
  14. As far as April and Matthew go: His wife died in episode 10. In episode 19, he brought his baby to the hospital and him and April reconnected in the chapel. Then in 20, a hilariously high April said that she's been seeing someone. The Grey's timeline has always been hard to pin down. But "months" could be as little as 2. I'm guessing it's no more than 4, logistically and because Arizona made a point to explain (defend) that April didn't want to tell anyone because she didn't want the judgments on how long Matthew waited after his wife died and whether or not she was doing the right thing. That wouldn't be a concern if what is considered a reasonable enough time has passed.
  15. I figure they're on a boat (looks like a ferry from the promotional pictures) as a means to get to the wedding location.
  16. Well, I thought it was subpar. Maybe my expectations were too high. Or maybe the near death scenario was better executed the first 10 times in seasons past.
  17. I loved the sweet moment with Alex and his mom at the end. It's tough, but I'm glad she has her routine and is doing better. Deluca's ornamental sister has no business dating a mother if she can't be bothered to understand that the child will always come first. And she's the last person who should be dolling out parenting advice. There's nothing parents love more than when a childless person tells them how to parent. /sarcasm I enjoy a good Miranda Bailey speech. Selfish (and stupid) though it may be, in the end it was Arizona who bought Callie the plane tickets and told her to go.
  18. That has nothing to do with the fact that she's in the finale alive and well (Sarah Drew posted a Japril photo all dressed up for the wedding).
  19. +3 to April not dying. For one thing, that's not something they would reveal in a promo. Also, Sarah Drew's last day of filming was on location for Jolex's wedding.
  20. Ellen has a right to defend herself. Fans got completely out of hand blaming and attacking her for the choices that the higher-ups made, and turned it into an ugly public situation all because when Ellen did speak, she didn't respond in the way that fans wanted her to; which, from the looks of it, was for her to disagree and shame her bosses for this decision and throw a parade for both Sarah and Jessica. She is now being accused of making this all about her when she even acknowledges that it's not. Maybe silence would've been the best way to handle this, who's to say? But for better or worse, Ellen has never had a filter. And the only thing she really got wrong in all of this is that it's not simply kids and "13 year olds" who are attacking her. Far worse, actually. It's also adults. Fans have no idea how that business works and what happens behind the scenes. But because they insert their own theories and biases as fact, it's the negative that catches on and spreads. Such is the ugliness of social media.
  21. This show should really air on Thursdays at 10 instead of Tuesdays. At least give it a chance to be part of TGIT while HTGAWM is on hiatus. It's not even TGIT anymore with Quantico in the third slot. Also, it continues to be far superior to Station 19.
  22. To the first point: Ellen said that after Derek was killed off and going into season 12. It doesn't have anything to do with Arizona and April. The second point: Exactly. Why have Arizona end up with the Deluca sister, which has thus far been an underdeveloped relationship, if she's leaving? Krista could've kept Arizona and fleshed them out in the future, but dismissing Arizona on the basis of "creative decisions" means that this thrown-together pairing is of little interest to Krista and that she doesn't see much value in them for storytelling.
  23. Both Patrick and Sara chose to leave at their respective times, Shonda didn't want to get rid of them. And it was Krista who decided to let April and Arizona go. Shonda left her in charge when she got her Netflix deal.
  24. Grey's Anatomy has still been trending in the US every week from what I've seen on Twitter. As for the ratings, the current decline average this season from last season is only -5.8% for the demo and -2.9% for overall viewers, which is on par season-to-season from any other year. Naturally, seeing the demo drop below 2.0 and under 7 million overall seems like it's worse than it really is, but keep in mind that this is the 14th season and it's still one of ABC and network TV's top dramas. I'm not sure where this narrative came from where the loss of both April and Arizona is the worst thing to ever happen to Grey's Anatomy, but if people look beyond their favorite character (April and/or Arizona), they'll see that that's not the case at all.
