  1. Yes. Two episodes ago when Meredith was ushering her kids into the hospital, she stopped and spoke to Arizona and the sister very briefly, and the sister gave Meredith her coffee.
  2. Why the hell was Arizona deemed the point person for Andrew's well being when Meredith is aware that his sister has been taking up space around the hospital all this time? Because he rented a room in her house? So sloppy. And one of many examples that short of bickering in Italian, the sister only exists to get her rocks off with Arizona. Whom she doesn't seem to respect all that much. The Vik Roy lawsuit is stupid. No one else had a problem not rushing to work on patients and everyone was aware that if you ate a cookie, you are benched. He's such a prick. Even if they hire him back to avoid being sued, I don't see how he can remain on staff in the long run. Maybe it's corny, but it would've been cute to name the foundation after little Harriet. Like simply The Harriet Foundation. I just don't think the affected women would really be all that keen on something named after Catherine knowing she was inadvertently part of the cover ups. Syph Nurse was just as irritating now as she was then. I wish they'd brought back Sydney Heron. She was something else, but at least would've been fun to see her interact with everyone her chirpiness annoyed.
  3. The setting of what is presumably Jolex's wedding is not at a church, it's outdoors. The church wedding could possibly belong to some guest characters because a woman (James Pickens Jr's daughter who is guest starring in the finale) posted a video at the church location wearing a white dress and wedding veil.
  4. April is not going to die. Sarah Drew posted some pictures of her on set of the finale on location on the last day of filming. She was dressed up, presumably at Jolex's wedding. I think the "one of Grey Sloan's own" who gets hurt could be (former?) intern Vik. He's listed as a guest star in episode 23, but didn't Richard just fire him in episode 20? Not that he's so close to anyone that he'd make a significant emotional impact, but the press release could be hyperbole. Or else I do like the Maggie theory. I just don't think it's April unless there's a time jump between 23 and 24 for a full recovery.
  5. Because it's existed for barely a season. Arizona's "everybody leaves me" spiel bothered me because she seems to have forgotten that her and Callie were divorced for over a year (maybe two with the time jump after Derek's death?) by the time Callie left for NY. Not to mention that it was her who bought the plane tickets and told Callie to take Sofia. It wasn't like Arizona gave Callie a "pick me, choose me, love me" option and Callie chose otherwise. And if we're to dig deep to Callie being the one to end their marriage, then Arizona technically left Callie first when she cheated on her. And then there's Africa where Arizona admitted to being a person who bails when things get hard. I just find it very annoying when the writers fudge continuity for the sake of trying to sell a new relationship and compare it to the older (and better). In any case, it is apparent that the goal is to make the Dr. Minnick rebound Arizona's new twu wuv. Boring. Next!
  6. I was underwhelmed. It felt more like a filler episode than a series finale. I wish Jake would've died and that Cyrus ended up in prison.
  7. Maggie talking about cheese, high!Alex, and April and Miranda on the couch were my favorite parts of the episode. April continues to be the MVP of the season for me.
  8. Bottom line: Krista, the showrunner, feels that April and Arizona's stories have come to an end. The storyteller no longer wants to tell their stories. Both Sarah and Jessica are exiting when their contracts expire, so no one was "fired". There's no conspiracy, this isn't a loss of feminism, it's just business. 9 and 10 years playing one character is by no means being short-changed. It's unfortunate that this wasn't their choice to leave, but they've both expressed their gratitude for the show and will be just fine. Sarah Drew bounced back within a week with a starring role on a CBS pilot, and Jessica Capshaw will continue to live among the Hollywood elite and will surely be cast in something in no time.
  9. And the news breaking on "International Women's Day" wasn't even intentional, it was just happenstance; unfortunate timing for ABC publicity. I also think that both of the characters exiting at the same time has amplified the response and outrage. Because big picture, April and Arizona are no more important than any other character who has left the series, and definitely not Cristina or Derek. I understand the difference is in the manner in which they are exiting the show and being that this was not their choice, but thus is the nature of the entertainment business and actors understand that.
  10. James Pickens Jr.'s daughter was cast in the season finale, and the other day she posted an Instagram story with her wearing a veil. It's possible that the church wedding is for someone else, and maybe the bride or groom is the patient.
  11. Quick question: are the Deluca's Italian? Because after their 500th time speaking Italian, I'm still not quite sure. /sarcasm Leave Cristina alone and let her be the genius that she is in Switzerland. Don't send her Seattle Grace Mercy Death's problems. She left for a reason.
  12. As each episode passes, I like the show more. I think it's found it's groove, and I see it as the Shondaland show that's on the lighter side. It's not too soapy like Grey's, and not dark like Scandal or HTGAWM. I'd prefer it to be part of TGIT over Station 19. For the People could certainly benefit from the ratings boost that would bring.
  13. Ben is 1000 times more annoying on this show than he was on Grey's, and I found him pretty bland aside from being Miranda Bailey's main squeeze. If I have to hear him pontificate one more time about his experience as a surgeon, I think I might scream. They honestly didn't need him to connect the spin-off to Grey's, and why anyone thought he was interesting and "big" enough to help launch the spin-off, I'll never know. Addison Montgomery he is not. Private Practice this is not. I agree with everyone who has said the casting is a big problem. There is barely an ounce of cast chemistry among the bunch. It all feels forced. Unfortunately, I think ABC already has it poised for a season 2.
  14. I loved that Teddy laid into Owen about how he strings her along. She's not wrong. The rabbi and April were great. And while she seemed pretty calm and level-headed in the chapel, I wish she had apologized to her chief for placing the blame on her in the first place. I felt nothing for Meredith and Scott Speedman's character. In comparison, I thought her and the military surgeon from season 12 had more of a spark. Meredith mentioning bringing her sisters but not Cristina to that quiet old town to settle is a reflection of this newer version of Grey's Anatomy. I've just never been a fan of this big push for "the sisterhood".
  15. Meh, it was okay. Maybe in time it will get better and will grow on me. But I think they should cut the voice overs. They are a staple on Grey's, but I find them awkward and unfitting for this show.
  16. Owen was the one who brought Teddy to Seattle in the first place. Teddy didn't cause problems between him and Cristina, she always had feelings for Owen since back in the army and never acted on them. He was the one who struggled with his man pain. And that was only in season 6. When Owen and Cristina got married in season 7, Teddy was dating the trauma counselor Andrew and then Henry came along. Whatever marital problems Crowen had, they weren't Teddy's fault. The first woman to give Owen a baby will be the one he picks. I hope it's not Amelia. I rather see her with just about anyone else. Or else the tumor storyline was a waste of time.
  17. Sofia is a cutie, and I loved when Alex gave her a high-five and called her rugrat. This one episode is the best Arizona has been written in a long time. I always enjoy the callbacks to Nerd!Bailey, it was a solid doctor-patient storyline with her and Laura San Giacomo's astronaut. Did Owen "I'm not a cheater" Hunt forget that he cheated on Beth and Cristina, too? What a joke.
  18. Station 19 is Stacy's brainchild and therefore leaving to run her brand new show under the Shondaland banner is a promotion. Tony and Joan left when their contracts were up for a lucrative deal at CBS. David Greenspan is an editor, he has nothing to do with writing/storylines. William Harper, aka Bill, is still at Grey's as is Zoanne Clack. Tom Verica has worked on nearly every Shondaland show and was never beholden to Grey's. And other staff writers like Tia Napolitano tend to move on at some point to work on something different for the purpose of building their own stature; or in the cases of Pete Nowalk, Jenna Bans, Stacy McKee, run their own shows. Not sure why Karin left, but I'd imagine after producing the same show for 10+ years, you'd want to seek other opportunities. The moves these people made were for the betterment of their career. Grey's Anatomy isn't the be-all-to-end-all. The problem is that Grey's should have ended seasons ago. Just because it could stay on because of the ratings etc doesn't mean it should. But obviously to ABC and Shondaland, the value of the dollar exceeds quality of storytelling.
  19. If it's true, it's probably intern Sam Bello, since the actress got cast in the Roswell reboot.
  20. Jessica posted a photo of her and Sarah on set in scrubs yesterday. And then Sarah posted a photo with Jesse and mentioned how it was her one day to work with him as a director, and Jesse is directing episode 22.
  21. And there's the rub about this supposed inside information. There is photographic evidence of Jesse and current showrunner Krista Vernoff having lunch together and meeting post-season 13 about season 14. This happened in May 2017. In a pre-season 14 interview, Giacomo (Andrew Deluca) also mentioned the actors meeting with Krista and the writers after season 13 wrapped; Krista herself even said that she met with actors prior to summer break to discuss future storylines. Maybe the focus group happened during season 13, in which case yikes because what a horrible season that was, but since it was Krista's creative decision to end April and Arizona's stories at the end of this season, that didn't even begin to materialize until she started back in late April of 2017.
  22. Both Jessica and Sarah were on set yesterday filming for episode 22.
  23. Fair. But "soon to be top billed actor" could also be Camilla in that Jo is now engaged to one of the four originals, Alex, and basically now Jolex is the sole "flagship" pairing on the show by process of elimination. Again, I don't doubt that the motivation for Jaggie isn't a part of it. I think there's a lot of pieces to this. For instance, I think that the previous pitch that was successful came from Sarah and the Samuel storyline. And that they appeased her this year with April's crisis of faith, only it's not going to pan out the way Sarah had hoped/thought because this is where April's story ends instead of flourishing into something more for future seasons. Curious what exactly Ellen presumably is threatened by? She should be thanking her lucky stars that both Sandra and Sara left, because had either still been around, no way would tptb let their contracts expire in favor of "the sun". And Cristina and Callie were heavy hitters in their own right. But Maggie has been getting developed since season 11. Her third episode on the show was a centric one! Jo hasn't really had much outside of her relationship with Alex and random pile-ons stacked on top of her past without any sort of development, until this season that is. She's the only one left from her intern class, and all of a sudden she's Meredith's new bff. Maggie's the easy target, but she's only more disliked now for the Jaggie angle than she was for being the Mary Sue before. Stepping outside the shippers and Twitter bubble, I haven't seen much favor for Jo. (Arizona's not the most popular character, either. Her being attached to notoriously hated Dr. Minnick last season didn't do her any favors. However, at most Jessica was probably the collateral damage; an easy choice for tptb since her contract is up and they've struggled to give Arizona anything compelling to do in two seasons.) But I'm just as in the dark as anyone else.
