  1. Canceled. The show will end at the end of its current 17th season. It sounds like Rachael wanted to move on and do other things https://deadline.com/2023/03/rachael-ray-show-end-canceled-17-seasons-1235278443/
  2. Creating a Chinese-inspired dish. March 2
  3. The topic tonight will be on Alex Murdaugh. They lucked out that he was found guilty yesterday
  4. I’m not sure she can prove that though, even by inference, since it appears Isaac was deeply closeted during his life
  5. Wait, did Veronica get another woman to sub in for her in jail at the end? I’m a little confused about what happened there
  6. Sometimes I’m annoyed at some of the things he does. I can’t recall if Charles is the one who wants to wait awhile with at least patients before turning them over to authorities or similar actions or if that’s another doctor, but it annoys me at times. Other times, I like his compassionate approach. In this episode, his approach to not disagree with the patient but work with him seemed creative and worked
  7. I actually liked how Dr Charles and Nellie (is that Kwavus?) handled their psych patient. Sometimes I’m annoyed with how Charles deals with his patients, but he and Nellie got creative with him. They didn’t try to deny his delusion that he was dead but instead tried to help him by getting creative about how to help him. Using deep brain stimulation and helping the patient see it as a Frankenstein-like resurrection helped him both medically and mentally

    Frontline

For March: "Age of Easy Money" (the role of the Federal Reserve's "easy money" policies from the "Great Recession" to the current rise in inflation), March 14

    Independent Lens

For March: "Storming Caesar's Palace" (abt Las Vegas activist Ruby Duncan who challenged the notion of "welfare queen"), March 20; "Hidden Letters" (Chinese women keep secret language that's just for women alive), March 27
  10. Just to point out, they swapped the subjects around; Season 1 is on Njinga and Season 2 on Cleopatra. Also to note, Season 1 is 4 episodes; it's possible Season 2 will be as well
  11. It doesn't say it in the trailer, but this is a 2 part documentary
  12. Always check for a phone that could be recording Mr. FBI Man. That took an unexpected and welcome turn
  13. Katherine and company getting the group of young employees to turn on each other was especially funny. I liked seeing the group of guys at the end being unexpectedly self aware
  14. I know, right? They keep not showing some people being told something important and it’s getting annoying. I wish I understood why they keep skipping some of those scenes
  15. Season 2 premieres Tuesday April 11 at 9pm ET, though check your local listings https://pressroom.pbs.org/programs/m/my-grandparents-war There are 4 episodes and the participants are Kit Harington, Keira Knightley, Toby Jones and Emile Sande
  16. I’m so glad she’s not doing it as that voice got pretty annoying pretty quickly
  17. Director Lara Everly talks about directing “The Letter” https://www.givememyremote.com/remote/2023/02/28/american-auto-lara-everly-directing-the-letter-interview/
  18. Man, several groups of messes. Somehow, I think Katherine came out on top in the end
  19. Either people let go or put on recurring. 4 stories each episode is too much Larry Manetti from Magnum PI to guest star in upcoming episode https://deadline.com/2023/02/magnum-pi-reunion-tom-selleck-larry-manetti-blue-bloods-1235273968/

This unit is really dysfunctional. I’m surprised they can get anything done. At least Nikki called out Kemi for being distracted, but the unit is still dysfunctional
  21. She does sometimes put in whatever those ear things are called to make it look like she’s talking on the phone with someone, but not often enough
  22. Highlights for March 2023. Note that it seems to be pledge month at 2 of my PBS stations (WETA and MPT) so the month is fairly light for original programming. Definitely check your local listings Great Performances: "Remember This" (starring David Strathairn as a WWII Polish resistance fighter), March 13 Frontline: "Age of Easy Money" (the role of the Federal Reserve's "easy money" policies from the "Great Recession" to the current rise in inflation), March 14 "T-Rex: An Evolutionary Journey", March 15 Scripted Sundays: "Call the Midwife" (Season 12), "Masterpiece: Sanditon" (Season 3), "Marie Antoinette" (Season 1), all premiering March 19 Independent Lens: "Storming Caesar's Palace" (abt Las Vegas activist Ruby Duncan who challenged the notion of "welfare queen"), March 20; "Hidden Letters" (Chinese women keep secret language that's just for women alive), March 27 American Masters: "Dr. Tony Fauci", March 21; "In the Making" (spotlights 2 performers breaking down barriers in country and opera), March 24 American Experience: "The Movement and the Madman" (how antiwar protestors accidentally derailed Nixon's plans for massive escalation of the Vietnam War in 1969), March 28 The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song: Joni Mitchell, March 31
  23. The Tan part really was terrific character stuff, as was Street trying to advise Powell and Hondo advising him that sometimes he needs to step back and give his mentee a little space. Poor Tan. I guess he was taught to hold it in and Hondo apparently wasn't noticing for a bit how much he was hurting Inviting him home for a meal was a good choice, though maybe a little awkward with Hondo's girlfriend there, given she helped to put him on suspension
  24. HBO documentary on artist and activist Nan Goldin who made it her mission to hold the Sackler family accountable for the opioid crisis. Premieres on HBO Sunday, March 19 at 9pm and streams on HBO Max
