  1. The story of the woman with mental health issues was interesting. That young doctor needs to learn to listen to the nurses when they need to warn a doctor about something, and Maggie ended up getting hurt. I wonder if Maggie has to take some medication for possible HIV exposure given how poor the woman's health was? I didn't hear mention of that Glad to see Archer's son take some initiative and rescue Asher and the guardsman. Maybe it will bring Archer closer to his son And Doctor Song has decided to double down being a robot
  2. Were those ostriches real or CGI (at least partly)?
  3. I created a topic for the HBO Max 3 part version of this called "The Low Country: The Murdaugh Dynasty". As I noted there, CNN will be replaying the HBO Max doc series this Sunday starting at 8pm ET
  4. “Cocaine Queens” was very interesting. The interview with Sonia(sp?) was kind of shocking on how brutal she was, including kidnapping teenage boys to add them to her gang. The epilogue has the gang broken up by the government and on the run. It’s a tough situation for a poor country to have a very popular illegal crop and being controlled by murderous gangs. Of course, if there wasn’t such a big demand for cocaine, especially in the US, this wouldn’t be happening
  5. I could never do a competition like this, even off camera. Harder meals can take me 1 1/2 to 2 hours and except for really simple meals, I need a recipe to guide me. Plus for this particular meal, I don’t like spicy so dialing up on the spice would have been difficult
  6. Did I miss the explanation for why a country song?
  7. This was fun. It took a couple of sharp turns I wasn’t expecting, one being the story of Flower’s fiancé dying and then at the end, Hetty and Nigel are at war
  8. It was amusing in places. I’ll at least check out the second episode
  9. President Biden will deliver remarks at 2pm ET on the Chinese spy balloon and related unknown objects so the show will likely either be partially or fully preempted for the 2pm telecast, assuming ABC broadcasts his remarks

    Showtime

From last month, Showtime is merging into Paramount+. It's not clear if the linear channel will continue as its own brand or if its streaming website will remain or be completely absorbed into the Paramount+ website https://www.theverge.com/2023/1/30/23578672/paramount-plus-merging-showtime

    Paramount+

Talk about the streamer here Paramount+ is absorbing Showtime, so Showtime will now be titled Paramount+ with Showtime. And it appears they are raising prices (again?). Per the article below, Paramount+ with the Showtime will go from $9.99 to $11.99 per month; Paramount+ essential tier alone will go from $4.99 to $5.99 https://deadline.com/2023/02/paramount-showtime-streaming-price-hike-restructuring-charge-1235261734/
  12. CNN will premiere the 6-part doc series on Sunday March 26 at 10pm ET. It will then settle into its regular 9pm slot on subsequent Sundays. The show follows actress/producer Eva Longoria through the many vibrant regions of Mexico, the land of her ancestors, in search of its unique and colorful cuisines. The show is executive produced by Stanly Tucci https://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2023/02/16/cnn-original-series-to-premiere-eva-longoria-searching-for-mexico-sunday-march-26-at-10pm-et-pt-on-cnn/ Given CNN is trying to bring most of its documentaries and doc series in-house, I wonder if this will even get a second season?
  13. So who played the various interviewers? A poster above said Jaime Pressley for one (I recognized the face but couldn’t place the name) and I recognized Jack McBrayer as another
  14. Premieres Monday May 1 at 9pm ET with 2 back to back episodes. New episodes will show on subsequent Mondays at 9 and 10pm. Episodes will stream the next day on Hulu https://tvline.com/2023/02/15/a-small-light-release-date-natgeo-anne-frank-series/

    Us (2019)

I just watched this this morning (yes I know, a little late) and thought it was pretty good and scary. The underlying themes made you think, especially how the haves and have nots fare so differently. I wonder if things with the dopplegangers didn't change until Addie got switched and left there (unlike Red who just got herself out of there) because she had the more privileged background and life and had the will and desire to both want to leave and change things for the other dopplegangers
  16. Some new set pictures of Ncuti and Millie as they film their 2023 Christmas special; Ncuti is in a variation of his costume https://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/1735122/Doctor-Who-Ncuti-Gatwa-Christmas-set

    Thai Cave Rescue

I saw that this morning; very sad
  18. Really enjoyed tonight’s episode, especially the segments with the staff trying to fire people
  19. I too felt this episode was too wildly off compared to the first 2 episodes and I did somewhat like the first 2 episodes, as I don’t mind an episode that makes you think. I hope they don’t do another episode like this one because it was just too hard to figure out what was really going on and had too much of a Twilight Zone tone. The show needs to stay grounded My TiVo listed Abigail Breslin in this episode, but she’s not included on the cast list; was she not in it for sure? The ratings after the football-boosted first episode have been awful so I’m not expecting this to get renewed
