  1. I never watched this show when it was originally on, but lately I've been catching it on MeTV. I really enjoy the chemistry between Jim and Pete; it seems so natural. I like that they kinda switched it around a little, making the older one the bachelor and the younger one the more stable married man. They just seem like nice guys. I'll keep watching to see some of the character development you all have mentioned.
  2. I was watching "Friends" the other night. It's the episode where Ross and Rachel first kiss. Ross said something like "that ship has sailed", then Rachel says "I don't need your stupid ship!" Only it doesn't sound like "ship" - see the video around 1:27
  3. About the Nigerian family - coincidentally the day after watching this episode the lady I worked with was telling me about a Nigerian guy she used to supervise (we were discussing Ebola and burial customs). She said that that even though the husband was a student at the local university (she ran the cafeteria), his English was pretty bad and his wife spoke no English. So apparently that part of the plot was realistic.

I was on the fence about continuing to watch this series, but this episode was so great that I can't wait for next week!
  5. I really enjoyed this episode. I understand why Penny wanted to give the money back to Leonard. She's starting to make some real money of her own and I'm sure this was a moment of pride for her. I like that they decided to start a discussion about money in preparation for being married. And they came up with a good solution, one that most married couples I know have done. And why Penny likes Leonard: He's sweet, thoughtful, funny... why wouldn't she love him?
  6. Honestly, I don't see the problem. It's not like she's bouncing in everyone's faces in a tacky string bikini; she's wearing a nice bikini and a coverup. I think she looks great!
  7. Dre was trying to get some black friends for his son, so he drove by a bus stop and tried to get some kids into his car. When a woman standing nearby gave him a look and started to dial her cell phone, he realized what he sounded like, apologized, and even commended the woman for doing the right thing before tearing off in his car. (It doesn't sound funny but it was.)
  8. The Wallace Shawn character's actions were those of a psycho and not just someone disappointed in not getting a judge appointment. That was just too much.
  9. Thank you SO much! Huh... I don't get the "eventually she goes back to the ex" vibe at all. I hope she doesn't; he's charming, but he's a jerk.
  10. Xena and Gabrielle from "Xena: Warrior Princess" Brenda Leigh Johnson - from "The Closer" Jadzia Dax - from "Star Trek Deep Space Nine"
  11. I think one reason he's so likable is that he's actually competent in his job, and not "accidentally successful".
  12. THAT would be AWESOME!
  13. This struck me too, so I just wrote it off to Rainbow's (the mother) "free spirit" upbringing. But you would think in that HUGE house (did you SEE that master bedroom suite? ) they would have another room.
  14. I don't get Layla's reaction - she's made at Will (and I don't blame her), but if she really wants revenge all she has to do is call a press conference and tell the world that she's filing for divorce or an annulment or whatever because her husband is gay. Bam, she's got sympathetic press. And she may even end up playing Patsy Cline in that movie because Juliette's pregnancy will get in the way of her doing it. Another thing: when the suits told Jeff that he had to get more female talent, then the very next thing is that Will was saying "find something for Layla." Layla's talented; why didn't Jeff realize that this was a good opportunity for him to do exactly what his bosses told him he had to do?
  15. I really wanted Howard to succeed throwing out the pitch. I tried to imagine if the episode would have been better or worse if the Rover had worked, and I think it would have been better.
  16. But, since Alex does have breasts, the comment was on topic. That was the whole point. Just because "A implies B", that doesn't mean "not A implies not B".
  17. I've never heard of the White Ribbon Campaign, but after checking out the site, Terry Crews sounds perfect for the keynote.
  18. People on television never seem to have screen doors. And lots of times they come inside and leave the door open, which really bugs me. (Also the refrigerator door is left open a lot).
  19. I just watched both shows on demand... boy, I think they're counting on Debra Messing's fans to bring in the numbers. Because that's the only reason I'll watch this. (Although that assistant is great, and by that I mean the actor's doing a good job.)
  20. The actors all have presence, even the young ones - the older son, Andre Jr, is excellent. I think the adults have chemistry. That's probably the most important thing to see in a pilot. Keeping my fingers crossed that writers can bring it.
  21. Obviously I'm in the minority here, but I loved the new episode!
  22. It's a style. On longer hair it's called "ombre" - not sure if that's what it's called on short hair. (My sister's a colorist.) Some people take it to extremes, but I like it on Penny.
  23. I like this; it explains a lot. I wish we'd get to see it.. maybe we will?
  24. Done. With. This. Show.
  25. His OCD was a major part of the show. In one episode, his psychiatrist found some medication for him, but it mellowed him out so much he couldn't function as an adult - it worked too well. As he often said, "it's a blessing... and a curse."
