When the SSR came to pick up Jarvis, Peggy's purse was in plain sight. I was waiting for one of the SSR guys to mention that; I wonder if this will come up in a later episode.

I have been watching the old "Superman" TV series on MeTV (the one with George Reeves. When this originally aired, did people recognize how stupid it is? Was it just supposed to be a kid's show? But George Reeves in those 50s (business) suits - yum!

The subplot with Luke didn't bother me - that's a typical teenage thing to do. She was out in the open; it's not like she was in her room or even her back yard and he was spying on her with a telescope or camera. I thought Lily was hilarious - the slapstick was over the top, but it IS a comedy. When she hit him with that "extension fist" I almost fell off my couch!

I just saw (on Cosy TV) the episode where Reed shoots someone "Log 33: It All Happened So Fast". I thought Kent McCord did a good job showing Reed's slow reaction to killing a man. I was disappointed that in the next episode he didn't show any aftereffects; one would think that on a show that was supposed to be a realistic depiction of patrol officers they would have had a bit of a story arc on that.

They were saying "the valet" - as in valet parking. I had the same problem; thought it was "ballet".

There is no way that someone with a successful business (pawn shop) would give money to these people. Their "collateral" can't be worth anywhere near what they think it is, and a businessman (especially a pawn shop owner!) would demand to see the goods, or at least some paperwork.

I don't care for "Girls", but I'm not the demographic. My nieces - all in their 20s - love it. But every time I've seen her Lena Dunham in an interview, she's always impressed me with how thoughtful and intelligent she seems to be.

I'm a big fan of the current scoring system. As a "casual" fan of skating, I can look at the score sheets and actually understand why someone got a certain score. There's still the artistic element, but that's part of the sport. I agree that adjustments to the system can be made, especially in scoring a fall. It doesn't make sense to me that a quad that ends on one's butt can score better than a beautiful triple, and after the last Olympics I believe they're trying to address that.

It's nice to see an episode look into Raj's culture - at least a little bit.

If they seriously think they are going to get any significant income from their jewelry "business", they are delusional. And even though I don't respect their intellect in any way, I don't think they're THAT dumb. The business is all for the television show.

I think it IS a "culture". ("beliefs, customs, arts, etc., of a particular society, group, place, or time.") They may not be shining examples of any culture, but they do represent the Fundamentalist Mormon culture.

Here's one that bugs me... when someone gets shot, or even gets into a fistfight in a public place, there's always some fool woman screaming her head off. I can see myself screaming in terror if I was being personally attacked, but if I hear a gunshot I sure wouldn't waste energy screaming; I might utter "oh shit" or something like that, but scream?

I don't know if this has been mentioned here, but on another thread there was some discussion about whether Rainbow is a surgeon. In the Dec 12 issue of Entertainment Weekly, Tracee Ellis Ross (Rainbow) wrote a short blurb "I Saw My Hair On TV". (page 18) In it, she states she is an anesthesiologist.

I would imagine that celebrities like them - especially those with big salaries! - have assistants managing their public instagram accounts. They may have separate personal accounts.

Oh, at the end where Sheldon was so touched by Amy's gift - I had tears in my eyes. Then he snapped at Raj for grabbing at the cookies, and I laughed for at least half a minute. "Tears through laughter are my favorite emotion." (One of those great "Steel Magnolia" lines.) Edited to add: That's "Laughter through tears" not "Tears through laughter" in the quote. I don't know WHAT I was thinking!

Didn't Claire grab the keys before Haley got into the car? So Haley wasn't getting ready to drive, she was just sitting in the car. Nice product placement for Toyota, huh? (I drive one, they're great cars, but it's annoying to see a 21 year old being given a brand new car when I'm driving an '05.)

If that's the one where Penny knees Czarnecki in his "special place" - that's possibly my favorite scene (tied with Amy's "It's a tiara!" scene). I think my favorite episode is the one where they're all dressed up in their Star Trek costumes, heading to Comi-Con, and they stop by Vasquez Rocks and Leonard's car gets stolen. I just like it when they all geek out together.

I missed the episode that introduced the Eva Longoria character. I wasn't expecting much, but she (the character) was kinda awesome, and she (Eva) did a great job. Not a typical character you'd see on a sitcom.

I just saw the pilot. Even if I hadn't known, I would have been able to tell it was a Jack Webb show. The back and forth, clipped dialogue was very Dragnet-like, and Pete even sounded like Joe Friday when he lectured Jim on the patrol car and its features. I'm glad they made changed Pete to make him more likeable.

Last night I was looking online for info on the Mary Martin version, and found the full show on youtube. My 21 yr old niece was staying with me and she told me she as a child she practically wore out a VHS tape of the show. We watched the Tiger Lily dance which was her favorite part - and maybe a bit racist... (I wonder if they'll change any of it?) The version on line was color, as was the VHS tape; I remember it in B/W, but we didn't have a color TV. Anybody know - were there 2 versions, or was it always in color and we just didn't realize it?

I recorded the Grand Prix event and watched the exhibition on ABC, which had the theme of "kids skating with their parents." It was kinda boring, but one thing I noticed is the difference in elements from the older skaters and the newer ones. I'm just a "watch skating on TV but never have been to a live competition" fan, but from my perspective the older skaters are more graceful, have better spins and spirals (spirals!), and are just more fun to watch, even if they only do doubles. It seems in the Grand Prix competitions the skaters spend so much time just going from one jump to another, pumping their arms to build up speed.

Every time I watch a lady skate to "Carmen", I can't help but compare her to Sasha Cohen. Her "Carmen" program amazed me. And I miss the spiral...
