  1. I've been hearing about Boyhood a lot lately on movie sites the past year.
  2. The situation was so frustrating because her mom and friends didn't know(but the audience knew) at that point what really happened at the end of Season 2. That Willow's spell to recurse Angelus worked and Angel's soul was returned but it was too late and Buffy had to send him to hell anyway to save everyone and THAT'S why she left Sunnydale. Her friends didn't know the amount of pain Buffy was in because she still didn't want to talk about it.
  3. Can't wait for Jane Espenson's first episode, "Band Candy". I liked season 3 but when this episode first aired, I was like "Now we're back!"
  4. Interesting interview with Jeff Bridges(Obediah Stane) and they bring up the chaotic shooting of the first Iron Man: It's amazing that the movie ended up turning out so great. Coming up with the movie day by day must have been a tense way of working but I think it's because of that we got moments like this:
  5. A video of Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch's 1999 live show is online:
  6. SMG had played Kendall Hart and on General Hospital and was very bitchy in Cruel Intentions so I can imagine her as a very evil Cordelia. The one line that sums up Cordelia in the "Killed By Death":
  7. At first I posted the actual picture, but then realized it was probably not suitable for this forum so I just posted the link! Anyway she looks spectacular especially since even back in 1997 when the show premiered I already knew she along with the rest of the cast members playing teenagers were all far past high school. I always believed that if anybody had played Cordelia she would have remained an unsympathetic bitch(even SMG who had auditioned for it). Charisma was just so likable in spite of being nasty to Willow that I think they brought her in as part of the "Scooby Gang".
  8. Since it's Charisma Carpenter's birthday today I think now is as good a time to start a thread about one of my personal favorite characters, "the Queen Bee of Sunnydale High" Cordelia Chase. Charisma turns 44 today and she posted this on Twitter: NSFW Image at https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BtRjJoyCIAEZ7PC.png Cordelia was always my favorite beyond the physical , but god that physical!
  9. The trailer for Rose Leslie's new horror movie Honeymoon:
  10. I love "Conquest" played during the fights in Rocky II and III. My favorite scenes in the movies are the big dramatic moments with Mickey: "You can't win Rock! This guy'll kill ya to death inside of three rounds!"
  11. It was so contrived to have Rocky lose his fortune. It's one of the reasons I didn't like V. They also said Rocky couldn't do any endorsements because of his history working for a loan shark. Like WTF? What about the "Eye of the Tiger" montage in III? Although I do love the opening credits where they show the Drago fight scored by Bill Conti. Also the "Measure of a Man" song by Elton John that plays in the closing credits.
  12. Skye McCole Batrusiak, who played Mel Gibson's daughter in The Patriot died last week of an apparent . She also appeared in The Cider House Rules and Don't Say a World. She had been suffering epileptic seizures recently and died in her sleep. She was only 21. This scene always made me cry:
  13. Watching the episode where Carol writes an article about her family to a woman's magazine. It's funny but most of the other episodes I've seen multiple times I know it by heart but this one I haven't seen as much of for some reason so I'm not that familiar with it. There's actually a continuity from previous eps where Peter comes in with a black eye because he's been fighting with Buddy Hinton again!
  14. Yeah, the guilt over he was the one who told Voldemort about the prophesy which led to Lily's death was important.
  15. Half Blood Prince is an example where on the one hand there are things I love in the book that were absent in the movie(the pensieve scenes) but there are also things I didn't care for in the book(like the romances, liquid luck) that I actually enjoyed in the movie. The way Ron and Lavender break up in the movie is way more entertaining to me. My favorite part of the HBP book is still the bit with Molly and Fleur crying and hugging over Bill after he gets injured.
  16. All the buzz on Guardians of the Galaxy is very positive. Like it's fun the way the old Star Wars movies were and the prequels weren't. Also that Groot is awesome. I can't wait to see it!
  17. I also love him in as Hendley "The Scrounger" in The Great Escape. His relationship with Donald Pleasance is the heart of that movie IMO.
  18. And when Chris Rock is the next contestant Tom Hanks just looks at him for an awkward few seconds, calls over Adam Sandler and says "Watch him."
  19. Grownups also aren't supposed to their anger out on innocent people who are trying to be nice to them but people thought she was justified last week. No matter who's to blame(and I think both are) Lin needed to move past it because it wasn't doing her any good It would really be hilarious if Zuko turned out to be the best parent of all of them.
  20. Oh, pretty much everything to do with Dumbledore's death in the movie was terrible. It's one of the reasons I find that movie so disappointing. The blocking was awful, the script was awful, the acting wasn't great...the only good thing about the Dumbledore's death sequence in the movies was when the school gathers afterward and mourns for him. That scene does make me choke up. Oh, and I like how Bellatrix skips through the Great Hall kicking all the glassware. Helena Bonham Carter nailed Bellatrix's batshit craziness really well there. But past that, Dumbledore's death just falls so flat. In the books, it's this epic moment, and the movie is just so underwhelming in comparison. The lines were pretty much how it was in the book. The problem was that when they first show Dumbledore's death in the book of Half Blood Prince, it's from Harry's POV. So when Snape looks really evil and that he is maliciously murdering him . Then in the pensieve scene in the Deathly Hallows book you get the perspective that it's all an act and that Dumbledore was alreadying from trying to destroy one of the Horcrux's and asked Snape to kill him. There Snape is hesitant and doesn't want to do it. The film version had to be ambiguous enough to work both ways.
  21. Lin apologized to Opal(as she should) and Su Yin apologized to Lin for how she was a teenager(as she should).
