  1. I love Conti's "Going the Distance" theme. I especially love it when it's used in the Rocky II training montage after post-coma Adrian tells Rocky to "Win!" Cue bell ringing on the soundtrac and Mickey's going "What are waiting for!" That montage is my favorite of the series. People can diss Stalone all you want but you probably do situps while another guy karate chops their stomach!
  2. Actually that infamous line was said by a different (and blonde) actress on the show, Megan Park. I don't think The Soup ever showed a clip from Secret Life featuring Shailene which is probably a compliment.
  3. Speaking as an American here's my theory on our indifference to futbol. Soccer is fun to play when you're a kid where you just run around the grass and there's really no pressure to score. If you miss it's not a big deal. Then when you get older you realize they spend all that energy to just basically fail most of the time, and when you do finally score all get it is only one point.
  4. They mentioned in the season premiere Kim had another baby, a boy.
  5. I hope Shireen becomes friends with Ollie. I liked the action and spectacle of it and the tracking shot was awesome. I look at it this way, it means the next episode will probably be the best one out of all the season finales with lots of great stuff.
  6. Me too. I hope he pulls through.
  7. Not all the aliens were CG, the Neimoidians weren't and a lot of the aliens first appeared in the previous movies weren't like the Tusken Raiders. Look if there was a way to shoot inside a volcano safely I'm sure they would have done it but y'know greenscreen is necessary. If you look at behind the scenes footage of The Avengers there was an incredible amount of greenscreen, especially in the last act. People didn't notice most of it because it was of New York City, a place that they know is real and can be photographed live, as opposed to some alien landscape that can only be created digitally. You only notice a part that's fake when they do a one that would be impossible like the long tracking shot which follows all the Avengers fighting together. People complained that JEDI was "nothing but muppets". You had sci-fi purists like Harlan Ellison complaining about aliens with rubber masks in the original movie. If you don't like the story you're less willing to suspend disbelief no matter how they do the effects.

Halep did a great job, but I've been rooting for Maria for 10 years and I will continue to, noise or not. I like that she quoted "Mean Girls" in her speech!
  9. A show that's run as long as Law & Order and that has a formula is bound to be filled with a laundry list of the same character types and tropes and over. Stand up comic and SNL writer John Mulaney is a big Law & Order fan and he has this great bit about the same types of characters showing up in every episode including: "Guy who won't stop unloading crates while being questioned by homicide detectives'! That one always makes me laugh when I watch. These are the hardest working people I have ever seen! I don't know about you but I always find any excuse to take a break at work. You'd think talking to police would be a good excuse! I actually saw this type of thing first on "Cagney & Lacey". They're investigating a case and they have to ask somebody questions at his work and they have to follow him around the factory as he does his job. And they're always so blase about it! You're being asked about a MURDER!
  10. People have selective memories because there were LOTS of practical sets in the prequels, especially Episode I.
  11. LOL! I think if anybody else was cast as Lady Olenna they would have wrote that particular backstory. The general public had to know Diana Rigg in her prime was even hotter than Margaery!
  12. He understood that the only way these dwarves earn a living is humiliating themselves for the entertainment of others.
  13. So killing any female character is fridging? I'm glad she didn't turn out to be Hydra but I won't miss her. It hasn't been made clear that he was brainwashed. It was more that he felt a little bad about murdering Hand but he's still a traitor
  14. The events of Winter Soldier takes place at least within two days after the assassination attempt on Fury(which was also seen at the end of the last episode) and then there's a coda about the fallout with Cap recovering, Maria Hill interviewing for a job at Stark, Natasha testifying before congress. That epilogue has to take place for over at least a week.
  15. He was in the last sketch, where Louis CK tries to get back with Aidy Bryant's character.
