  1. Finally saw it and I liked it. Very thought provoking. Also amazing that the success of the film hinged on the fact that Amy Adams can look either 35 or 45 depending on the lighting!
  2. Whedon's version is really DC head Geoff John trying to adapt "War" his New 52 Justice League origin story. The problem is "War" sucks. It's one of the worst things John's has ever written. Hal Jordan is an unlikeable asshole, Batman does stupid things like revealing his identity to him, Darkseid has no characterization and Cyborg is better as a Teen Titan. So you have what was already a bad story and now you add a dead Superman and the fact that Bruce was an unreasonable maniac in the previous movie but did a 180 just because he and Superman's mom's have the same name. I think having to deal with all that hampered Whedon more than trying to match Snyder's visual style.
  3. I initially thought putting the Joker in a story about Darkseid was unnecessary fan service but now it looks like he'll actually be the voice of whatever thematic statement Snyder will be making and that is hilarious.
  4. I now think Hayward knew something more was up with Westview than just a missing person. He had to have tracked Vision's body there after Wanda took it. Everyone looked so good in their comic book costumes, especially Wanda. Great seeing Jimmy kick ass. The claymation 90s commercial was spot on. I always wish they had used Teyonah Parris more on MAD MEN so it's awesome that she now has an important part in the MCU. Really curious to what Darcy is changed into considering were already at the 2010s in the next episode. A waitress? *wink*.
  5. Halfway through a rewatch of season 1. Man, the actors cast as killers really go for the Emmy during the reveals, don't they?
  6. On taped sitcoms in front of an audience they hide the person behind counters or bags. This was a single camera show where the actors are shot from different angles. The other solution is to put her in less scenes but she was the second lead. Write that Cordy just put on a LOT of weight? Yeah right. They could have wrote in Cordy had a normal pregnancy but then they'd be stuck with a baby for the rest of the show. And would it make sense that she'd be around Angel and co when she's raising a child? If David Greenwalt had stayed he would have given the support and assistance Charisma needed because he's always been a vocal fan of her and Cordelia. Joss had not established that level of trust with her so he couldn't do that. Sarah wanted to quit so Buffy was ending, Firefly was on the verge of cancellation and Angel was on thin ice too. Wirh hundreds of jobs at stake including his own I don't think he would write a storyline that would alienate fans and tank the show just to punish one actress.
  7. I do believe Joss wasn't nice but keep in mind during that year he had three shows going on at the same time. Along with Angel he had Firefly's 1st (which turned out to be it's only ) season and Buffy's last. The former survive and the other had huge fan expectations and there was an enormous amount of pressure on him that particular year. It was also the first season after David Greenwalt left and Tim Minear was sent to work on Firefly. Joss originally had this whole storyline planned for the season which gets thrown completely out the window. Presumably it was Charisma who wanted to keep working so they can't just write Cordelia being away. They have to write her pregnancy in. Fans understandably hate Cordelia sleeping with Angel's teenage son and having a demon baby but that's the position they've been put in and Joss is the one who takes the heat. So while I think Joss was mean to her I don't think it was him just being an asshole.
  8. I actually like Michael's hair in Part III. His character is trying to get away from his old ruthless self in the previous movies so it makes sense he would want to look very different. If you want cool longer, slicked back hair you have Andy Garcia as Vincent who is the new heir to the Corleone legacy.
  9. Havent seen it but after finding this I want to check it out:
  10. The casting of the four sisters in the second episode ever, "Deadly Lady" is spot on. They all really look related. Like the producers went "We want four actresses who look like a young Vera Miles." Also the father's name is Stephen Earl and Earl is an anagram for "Lear". Nice.
  11. Well the Baroness and Max don't remind him of his dead wife!
  12. "Moguls and Movie Stars" which Christopher Plummer narrated is still my favorite TCM documentary series.
  13. I love Plummer as Klingon General Chang in STAR TREK VI: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY just devouring scenery: "CRY HAVOK!!! And let slip the dogs of war!"
  14. I was spoiled but still had an "Oh my god!" reaction to the ending. "She recast Pietro?" LOL! The series so far has been a showcase for Elizabeth Olsen but Paul Bettany really killed it this episode. I grew up in the 80s and they got the family sitcom feel of that era so right.
  15. AMERICAN GRAFFITI made in 1973 is set in 1962 just 11 years before. Its like if a movie in 2021 was nostalgic about 2010!
  16. American wife, proud eldest daughter, nerdy middle daughter, sassy youngest daughter, the need for a male heir....it's like Downton Abbey!
  17. Some dudes online already mad because it looks like the son will be unworthy so tradition will be broken and the daughter with Lisa will become the heir.
