So, for a little over 6 innings, it was looking like my decision to sell my tickets and stay inside in the a/c might have been an error. It ended up working out, though. Because even a no-hitter isn't worth sitting out in this heat... right? 😉

As they should. However, that had nothing to do with my team. 1989 was actually a surprisingly good year for us. One of the giveaways this season is a replica Why Not shirt. I still have my original.

Oh good grief. Anniversaries of 1969 AND 1979?? I didn't even think about 1979. Just kill me now...

This is a pretty good group. I'm a little too old for Sesame Street, but I totally understand how important it is. I do remember Michael Tilson Thomas taking over for Leonard Bernstein on the Young People's Concerts when I was...young. And who doesn't love Sally Field, Linda Ronstadt and EW&F. Maybe I'll try to get a ticket... maybe.

The Annual Primetime Emmys - General Discussion
ebk57 replied to susannot's topic in The Primetime Emmy Awards (Emmys)
I don't know, but if someone figures it out, maybe Andre Braugher could do it, too. So disappointing. -
We have tickets for August 6th (I think). We also have tickets to Hadestown on the 8th. We may see Tootsie on the 5th. We'll see how it goes.

They'd been using the shift all day. Don't blame that. I sat through a no-hitter in my ballpark against my team back in 1991 (Wilson Alvarez for the White Sox) and I cheered. So in a totally selfish move today, I talked about it because I wasn't in the mood. So there! I will say that when we got the first 2 guys on, I mentioned that a triple play would be fun. That would have made me laugh. The guy next to us was really pissed off. Too bad...

Sorry, I had to say it out loud because I'm here and I didn't want that to happen. So. .yay.

Os on a hot streak! They could have 28 wins before the break. Yay! Right?
-
That's why my seats are always in the shade. And why I appreciate the fact that all (or most anyway) ballparks face the same directions - I always know what seats are in the shade even if I haven't been there yet.

Or sometimes, like today, I was yelling "I have dinner reservations in an hour and a half, so take your time!!!" Fortunately, the restaurant opened at 4:30, so I could change my 5:15 res and have a lovely dinner. At least something was lovely today. (although at least it wasn't 26-0)
-
My rule is that I start yelling "I have dinner reservations" when it seems like the game will run into said dinner reservation. Usually that works 😉 If it doesn't, depending on where we're going, we either leave, or call and push the reservation back...
-
So, how bout dem Os?! I'm sure that tomorrow, when we're there, they will lose 26-0.

Told you it would be 10 hours. Well, it felt like 10 hours...
-
Ah, Yankees-Saux and their always fabulous 10 hour/9 inning games. I missed the pre-game - did they say why both teams are wearing the home whites? For some reason, this is annoying me. Almost more than the 10 hour game.

David Cassidy at Merriweather Post Pavilion when I was 13. Not a bad start...

Or the Os... sigh.........................

SNL Classic: Re-Airings, Past Casts, Past Sketches, Past Hosts, the Past
ebk57 replied to vb68's topic in Saturday Night Live
Thanks for posting that! That has to be in the top 5 sketches I've ever seen on SNL. And I laugh every time I watch "The Band Wagon"... -
Any Astaire/Rogers movie. My favorite is "Swing Time".

I sang bad karaoke with Lady Gaga. The first part of that is totally plausible. The last part - not so much.

Come on up and go to a game with me! There's also a Saturday series. I'll just post the link here in case anyone knows any of these folks. https://www.mlb.com/orioles/tickets/music

The Baltimore Orioles are having a Friday night Women of Country Music series featuring emerging female country artists. These are the women who will be singing: Lauren Duski, Clare Dunn, Kylie Frey, Natalie Stovall, Carter Faith, and Ruthie Collins. The concerts will happen after the game and are included with the game ticket. I need to exchange some tickets for a couple of games. Does anyone know anything about these women, or have a suggestion on what night(s) to attend? Especially seeking out @UYI's opinion 🙂 but please, anyone chime right in!

He did - and I was there! Even after an hour+ rain delay. It was exactly one year after Cal broke the record (I was there, too). My guy is Brooks Robinson.
