  1. The promotion department (if there is one) for this Show is pitiful.
  2. Can you imagine how much GOOD Scientology could do in the world if they actually put their zillions of dollars towards helping people instead of being so ferociously focused on ruining the lives of those that have dared to leave. It's irritating to me when they keep referring to this organization as a 'church'. How is it a church? Surely this organization will lose its tax exempt status soon. I sure hope so. (I'm surprised so few are posting about last night's episode.)
  3. Good post Bergamot. This ^^ is a huge problem with the batch of writers we have now. We're supposed to assume all the important conversations take place off screen. It's lazy lazy writing. When they do get together to talk they waffle about nothing. It's all so weird now. How are we supposed to invest in characters or story? Whether Jack lives dies or whatever might be their priority but I'd suggest the majority of viewers could not care less. And as other have pointed out - if he dies he'll not stay dead. Death means nothing now. Other than Dean contracting Jack's consumption, I really don't care.
  4. We do need a Bethenny type on this franchise. Her comebacks are vicious as a whip but they're also smart and to the point. This lot are just mean and nasty and I cannot believe for one moment they are actually friends outside of the show. And none of them are particularly bright... just mean. I felt Shannon was once again being ragged on. She is self-absorbed but so are the others. I think the only HW who should make it through to next season is Kelly. Just wind her up, ply her with drinks and she goes off like fireworks. But she doesn't seem to hold these tiresome never ending grudges like the others. And I agree with whoever pointed out that Tamra should not rub that shimmer cream on her bony chest. Ugh not attractive.
  5. I said this last week and I'm saying it again - I hope the camera crew in Russia is keeping tabs on Steven. He is scary and immature. He won't do anything when the cameras are set up in that tiny apartment, but when they're gone and he's annoyed that he's not getting enough attention what then? I'm assuming all is well since this was all filmed a while ago but it's still uncomfortable to watch. Does she not have friends to visit and check up on her. What a depressing desolate place she lives in. Much of the other stuff is set up for the show. Say yes to the dress, furniture shopping, apartment viewing. It's sort of "reality" I guess. but it's all a set up. I'd rather they slipped in a couple of couples who were "real" and genuine and we could get a taste of the "real" pros and cons of this 90 day process. Anyway the most entertaining couple has to be Larissa and Coltee/Mother. I was in a lather of suspense waiting for a button to pop from that too small shirt straining across the belly flab. Mother knows how to throw in words to get her son's eyebrows going... "senior residence' and Larissa is just fun to watch. She should be on a sit com.
  6. Jensen doesn’t get these kinds of acting opportunities anymore.
  7. Oh, if only this were true - he'd be ten times more interesting. The character has been whitewashed to the point of Sue'ness. I think it's even worse than what they did to Charlie. Why writers favour this approach is beyond me. Don't they know viewers love a bad guy. They start out presenting dark and scary and then as episodes go by we get redemption upon redemption. The only character they (kind of) left alone was Crowley. Too much time was wasted on Three Men and a Baby Visit the Hospital and Nick's over the top violence on an innocent. Not what I tuned in for. Where's Michael dammit!!
  8. I'm probably the only person in the world who's never watched an episode of Friends. But I was an avid fan of TWD for about 4 years which is about as long as the series should have lasted. It's running on stupid fumes now. The zombies are not even scary anymore and the humans are just ridiculous. And I totally agree regarding Sleepy Hollow. Can't the writers or TPTB see chemistry on screen? Why do they push a character that works into the background for one that isn't even interesting (except maybe to the writers). They're doing the same thing to Supernatural with Nick/Lucifer and Sickly Jack. Honestly Andrew we just don't care!!
  9. This ^^ is the issue for me too. They're in crisis mode all the time these days - constipation and puckered brows abound. But this week's crisis is forgotten over and done by the following episode. How can an audience be expected to invest if the stories jump all over the place without rhyme or reason? And what about Jack's sickness? Pander to him, let him drive Baby and he's fine... look away for a moment and he's fallen to the floor surrounded by bloody Kleenex. The hospital scenes were silly, the brothers lie for a living yet there they all were bumbling like non-hunter fools. Too many story strings going on at once dilutes it down. There's no tension or weight any more because everything is a super duper dilemma until it's not. Death carries no clout. And if TPTB haven't realized by now that even the twitter 'squee' bunch are fed up with Lucifer, then they really are out to lunch. Mark is a good solid actor. Let him go act in another show. Fingers crossed for Dean's blurry moment to actually mean something. Michael is listening, or Michael is still there... or whatever. It's something to grab onto, although I'm wondering who'll portray Lucifer for the big Dean!Michael/Lucifer fight at the hiatus finale. It could be Sam. It could be Jack. Still, at least we know they won't dangle on high wires.
  10. At least the miscellaneous hunters have left the bunker. Did Sam send them on hunts or have I not been paying attention and they’ve gone back thru the rift? Hammer welding Mark is acting his little heart out and we’ve got a terminator rising from the goo yet simple stuff like Dean fishing and reminiscing is somehow more potent storytelling. Andrew doesn’t recognise when he’s got gold in his hands. He lets it slip thru fingers and grabs onto the pointless. It’s crazy.
  11. The only interesting bit was Dean’s blurred vision. Could it possibly mean something? Or will Dean continue his role of pretty wallpaper?
  12. It's true I haven't watched in years. I was quite keen in the early seasons and then lost interest. It's all seemed kind of a set up after a while and I felt manipulated by editing. But there is no way they'd allow them to starve. Also - they have so many more comfort items now than in the beginning of the series. Chairs, hammocks, blankets, pillows, etc. It's like a camping trip.
  13. Wouldn't they be provided with extra rice anyway without having to negotiate? The contests wouldn't be much fun with a bunch of weak starving survivors trying to drag themselves about. Are the contestants given suntan lotion? Starvation and skin cancer could lead to law suits.
  14. The only 'Dean story' that could possibly garner ratings and stick around for more than 2 episodes would be some horrid spell that joined the brothers at the hip. Because that's all the fans seem to want these days. Thank goodness I didn't have my hopes too high for a Dean/Michael SL lasting to the hiatus.
  15. It's not ostentatious or overblown like many celebrity homes and I recognise the pool from other photos. ((Off Topic: Everything in Texas is super big. One of the funniest episodes of House Hunters is a wealthy couple from Texas looking to buy a house in Aberdeen Scotland because hubby has been transferred. The wife's horror is hilarious.))
  16. Are the Housewives makeup teams and hair/dress stylists in on the joke? Because the HWs obviously are not. And those slippery oily legs. Good grief. They all looked hideous. I found this Reunion way more entertaining than the whole season. What a nasty evil bunch. Can't wait for part 2.
  17. Much of this show is set up and - as someone else pointed out - some of the homes depicted have probably been rented for the show to accommodate camera work. However Steven is not a set up. Steven is real and he's scary. The look of fury on his face as he raced them home from the hospital was not a set up. I'm assuming the car is rented for the show and equipped with cameras. But Steven had forgotten they were there. Steven is dangerous. He has a fantasy notion of what it's like to be a new father but reality bites. I don't know if the cameras and production crew are Russian or American but I hope they keep tight tabs on this couple because Steven can go off like a 'volcano'. He has no concept of reality and thinks it's all going to be happy families all the time. Relationships take work and maturity. None of the others are particularly interesting or likeable. Why wouldn't the rich girl's parents buy them a house or apartment? If not for their stuck up daughter, wouldn't they do it for their grandson? Ugh, Eric makes my skin crawl. Does he ever bathe?
  18. Eat drink and be merry... and then you run a marathon 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
  19. I felt sorry for the woman involved in the accident. When you're hit by a car it's impossible to remember what exactly happened or the order in which it happened. You're in shock. It seems she was taken away by ambulance and someone took photos of her car. Unfortunately not the exact photo JJ wanted. I guess JJ must follow laws, but I felt bad for her. People driving about without insurance should be fined heavily, their car and license taken away for a year. Maybe even jail.
  20. You can argue which brother did the most damage until the cows come home. Thing is - they're both screw ups. They're not men in tights flying in to save the day. They do their best and along the way people are saved and people sometimes die. It's something different and the reason the show has lived this long. There's not another series like it. These lead characters made grim mistakes and there was always this sense of repressed violence and danger swirling about them. Episodes had me on the edge of my seat or brought me to tears. Or that's the way it used to be. Now it's an afternoon soap. Dabb lacks the gumption to tackle the disturbing elements of humanity's unchecked nature in a supernatural world. It could be dark and gritty like in the old days. These aren't complex brothers making flawed decisions anymore. Sam's the Chief and Dean... well, Dean's childish, messy and not so smart. The biggest crime of all - simplistic characterization. Stories go nowhere. It's all padded out to create drama and plot points that are soon forgotten. Supernatural powers come and go without rhyme or reason. The show has lost its impact. I can't be bothered to argue which brother gets the best storyline, because I don't care. I don't want a win for my favourite brother. I just want good writing. Stories I can invest in. Stories that actually involve Dean and Sam. Sadly it has become something of a slog to watch now. Twice this season I've recorded and not viewed live. That would've been unheard of years ago when everyone knew I'd be incommunicado for an hour and in full control of the remote and don't you even dare think about phoning me.
  21. A function like the 300th celebration could be overwhelming for him maybe? But his absence still should've been explained somehow. He is the damn showrunner after all. Photo after photo on twitter and not one - Showrunner Andrew Dab was unable to attend. All the photos, articles, red carpet etc., and him not included and no one says why. It's odd.
  22. I'm not at all into ships. The only ship I'm into is Pondlass/Dean. Pean or Dondlass? Dean working with another man doesn't equate to any kind of ship for me, it doesn't even enter my head. Dean working with Ketch (with whom he has chemistry) means an intriguing plotline. Can Ketch be trusted kind of thing. It's what made Crowley one of their most entertaining frenemies. Dean's not stupid enough to trust anyone willy nilly. And neither is the audience. We have to remember this is a supernatural adventure show we're watching. Suspense and tension should run through almost all scenes. And Dean hooking up with Ketch for an episode could be an edgy time. They are both smart and going to use each other to their best advantage.
  23. It's not so much that we didn't hear from Dabb. Yes, he could be overwhelmed with a personal event. I can appreciate his not attending for all manner of reasons which I would respect. My point is that his absence was not explained or mentioned (apparently) by anyone anywhere. A simple "Andrew sends his regrets and best wishes and congratulations..." something like that. Or Andrew Dabb was not in attendance due to personal reasons. That type of thing. Anyhoo it looked like a fantastic night for all.
