Dean and Sam don’t live in our world with our religions. They’re in a parallel world alongside vampires, werewolves and the like.

S03.E05: Where Is Shelly?
Pondlass1 replied to Sew Sumi's topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
There's this thing that's always said - that every adult has the right to disappear if they want and the police department cannot do anything about it. But this is different. The woman has not been seen for, what?, ten years. Her friends are worried about her and she's in a cult that barbs its fences and imprisons its 'parishioners'. Surely the FBI (or whoever, I'm not American) has a case where they have the power to intervene? Confinement is a crime. Is she receiving proper medical care, dental, etc. Even if she's so completely brainwashed she cannot be helped to escape, at least allow law enforcement meet face to face with her to check her mental and physical well being. But I do think an IRS investigation or audit will eventually be the reason for the end of CO$. The CO$ is nothing more than an outrageously expensive book club from what I can see. Books and courses that cost hundreds of thousands. The so called church "helps" no one. They surely do not meet the requirements for total tax exemption. And just think what a bonus all those unpaid taxes would be to the American people. And I would assume new membership is way down because of this TV series. The CO$ must be dying a slow death. I wish Davey would have the gumption to appear on this show. -

I believe this too. She's totally brainwashed. Even if they did locate her, she's just going to babble that she's happy doesn't want to leave until LRH returns (hopefully with better teeth). It is a bit surprising to me, a non American, how little power organizations such as the FBI and IRS have in dealings with the Co$. The CO$ compounds are very obviously prisons. In fact, the CO$ has a tighter grip on members than most maximum security prisons. Why? Why so many high tech cameras and those scary barbed fences? Wouldn't that alone alert the interest of the FBI? Isn't America the land of the free?- 74 replies

It took a lot of time, pain and money for us to have a baby. So to see a woman cry because she's pregnant again so easily.... well she doesn't realise how lucky she is. Eric is aging rapidly, the bags under the eyes are suitcases now. He's going to look 65 at the wedding. Not that Leida will notice. And I'm having a hard time believing she's as wealthy as she makes out. Not a Gucci handbag in sight. Heaven help the patients if she does get into the medical field. She's a brat, a bully and doesn't possess one iota of empathy. The phone chat with the Ex was interesting. He's obviously glad to be rid. Another one lacking empathy is immature Steven. I don't believe for one moment he will get out of Russia with the baby, but what does he think he will do if he does manage it? What then? Hand Richie to gravel voiced gran and grandpa while he goes off to the skate park? I still find Larissa the most entertaining. Does she have children back in Brazil? They're never mentioned by her or the show. The others are kinda boring. With that ash white skin, Ashley should stay out of the Vegas sun.

kissing Jensen. What’s it like?

It's just not the same show (for me anyway) that I started out with. When watching older episodes I'm quite struck by how smart they once were. They figured things out themselves. There wasn't always some convenient spell or gizmo and if there was the brothers had a to figure a way to get their hands on it. They didn't rush half cocked into situations or have it all so easy. Now it's the same predicament only a different week. A colossal big bad that turns out to be nothing. These big bads can snap fingers and destroy the universe. But instead they pontificate and posture and and go on and on about how evil they are and what evil they will do. But they never do it. Having two ordinary humans going up against bigger and bigger and BIGGER super beings each season is a mistake. The big bads are now way too powerful... and rarely very bad and there's always a spear or blade or something. The weekly plot used to move slower, building tension and suspense as the story unfolded over the 43 minutes. Now we file our nails as Dean dies for the umpteenth time or the super monster advises he/she will destroy the world. Yeah, right. And then there's the belittling of the hunting profession. It used to be scary, lonely, dangerous, and kinda epic. It required wild & crazy heroes with a heartbreak reason for joining the ranks. Now it's just fun and games and anyone can do it. Dean and Sam Winchester are just not special any more - or even particularly bright. They have disappeared into the woodwork.

We don't get the promo at the end of the episode in Canada - or not on the channel I watch anyway (Space). But it seems odd that they end on the ominous finger snap cliffhanger, only to reveal seconds later in the promo that everyone's ok and Michael has changed outfits. It's like the movie trailers that tell you the whole story plus ending. No one has a clue about suspense any more; and episodes are crammed with exposition and spoon fed plot. If you watch the early episodes there's more thinking needed on the part of the viewer. Even that Titanic episode didn't explain what was going on until half way in. Dean driving a different car, Bobby married to Ellen... what the heck's going on...?? Dabb would have it all explained in the first two minutes. He thinks we're all ten!

(*I'm hoping for a snug t-shirt and those pants Jensen poured himself into for the recent Jax convention.) Michael doesn't seem like a flannel and denim type of guy. So even if the SL short-lived and weak, at least we'll get to see Jensen spiffed up. He cleans up so good.
-
How many episodes before the 300th? How long have we got? Thing is - now that we have Michael/Dean back again what will they have him do? I hope they don't waste Jensen's talents by having him stand about looking evil and stunning and just talking and talking about his dire plans. Demon Dean at least got to kill Lester and chase Sammy with a hammer. MoC Dean killed a Stein kid in cold blood. I'm a passive person in real life, however I'm fervently hoping consumption Jack explodes when Michael snaps those fingers thus causing Sam & Cas to yell 'Look what you've done to OUR KID!'. And Michael will smile one of those FU Dean smiles. But, of course, we all know the snapped fingers will only result in Michael disappearing from the room. Not much of a cliffhanger. Michael still has Dean along for the ride, he obviously doesn't know it, but Dean's there. Nobody puts Dean in the corner.
-
Oh I agree it was standard fare until Michael entered Dean. And way too much exposition. The egg showed up because fans made a fuss that Dabb had forgotten. He had.
-
So Dean is GONE? Totally GONE? Don’t believe it. But exciting to contemplate because it ain’t easy to keep Dean down.

The final 3 minutes were EPIC!!!

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
Pondlass1 replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
How do you harvest a piece of DNA from a fictional character? If someone can figure this out we could clone him and each have access to a flesh and blood Dean all for ourselves. **I'm sure the significant others would understand... -
It will be a scene where John and Sam are reminding Mother that she has another son... his name is Dean. :-( I wish they'd kept Mother out of this episode. And how will they explain that John has aged while Mother stayed the same (well, kind of). This episode could be so freaking awesome, but......

S13.E21: Reunion Part 3
Pondlass1 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
He needs to take more control or it gets repetitious and stupid. He wanted it to become beat up on Shannon night and so it was. Vicki flung a knife at Kelly during Part I and so sat back quietly and smugly for Parts II and III. Her work done. She could have gone home. Emily's dress was sausage tight, but I don't blame it for the abrupt bursts of temper. Yikes. I wouldn't want to cross this women. She is scary. As is the other newcomer, crazy eyed Gina so obviously desperate for a foothold in the franchise. Anyway, they are all exhausting to watch. No joy or camaraderie to be found anywhere. I think I'm done with them after this season of nastiness. Kudos to the reunion camera operators and editing department, tho. The close up shots of bug eyed crazy Gina and Tamra's evil pucker of glee as she watched the ruckus against Shannon were pure gold. -
Soapernatural...no one dies and everyone is so nice. The only evil one left now is Mother.

The girl who spent all her time getting ready looked way older than 17. And what is happening to Robin? Her eyes are disappearing into tiny black pinholes.

S03.E03: Spies Like Us
Pondlass1 replied to Chaos Theory's topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
I don't live in the States, but it seems a fairly simple thing to do. They are not a church. They don't meet the definition of a church. So they pay taxes like every other money making organisation. The story of the PI's that followed and hounded someone for 20+ years is positively ridiculous - all expenses paid too?!! And why can't the police departments intervene when someone can prove they're being spied upon and their reputation maliciously slandered in the community without proof. It's against the law surely. The scariest part of it all is the fact that humans can be so easily brainwashed. It is our downfall and the reason for wars and hatred. But hopefully recruitment is way down due to this series. It is interesting that the folk that 'escaped' all seem very articulate and well spoken, despite cursing like soldiers. Good luck to Leah and Mike. Hope the CO$ comes crushing down. -
Remember - we're watching a soap... not the Supernatural of yesteryear. She'd been carted off to Hell under Kripke. The character was pretty interesting. Everyone's so puddle deep and sappy now on this show. And it all must end in a nice pink bow.

I must have a heart that's two sizes too small. I cannot relate to all the moping over Jack I think the emotion scenes were overdone and took up way too much time. Especially as we knew Jack would be just fine after the next commercial break because he's a semi-regular now. Had he been a one shot guest star - there would never have been a spell. How can you invest emotions when you know there's always a spell out there somewhere to put everything right for a fav character. However the episode was watchable with well-acted side characters. I especially liked the eye patch lady and invested more in her sorrow than consumption Jack's. And I want more of that awesome cluttered watch tower. Why can't heaven be more interesting than just stark white corridors and business suits. Most of the recent episodes have been watchable. They just don't make much sense. Arc episodes are almost the same as stand alone MoTW episodes these days. Nothing relates back to what went before. Where are the AU hunters? I don't care about them, but it's odd they are not even mentioned especially as much time was devoted to Sam the Chief running himself ragged sending them out on hunts. Suddenly they've all exited the building and no one even noticed. Continuity is not a strong point with these writers. The binge wake rang true for me - yeah, I can see that happening. (Dean's liver must be supernatural. )
