These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
Pondlass1 replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Oh bloody hell! The actress is so amateurish. -
I remember when I first started watching live in 2012... I used to post at IMDb and we'd have a conniption if ratings dropped below 1.0. Now we're happy for .5 although I'm bracing myself for .3 after the Christmas hiatus.

Had Dean been born into an apple pie picket fence life then he'd be Jensen Ackles. Kind of. Dean would be a faithful husband, awesome father, hard worker and never sleep around. He'd probably hold a job with a touch of action and danger and one where he worked with passion and imagination. But Dean was born into peril and a transient life. At age 4 he was dad to his own dad and protector to his young brother. And, thankfully, Dean was of a mindset and strength of character that he could handle it all. It would have been a different story (my opinion only, folks) had Sam been the eldest and the same life thrust upon him at age 4. Both brothers have traits passed down from their father. (None from their dippy mother thank goodness). But we never really got to know John did we. Not the happily married father. We've only seen the heavy drinking raging hunter determined to wipe out YEDs and demons. If only they could find the right actors and writers I'd love to see the story of Dean and Sam - the Formative Years on screen.

O Cannabis Canada! As of today our boys can legally indulge while filming in Canada.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Pondlass1 replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
My UO is that Jensen has gone along with the clumsy, dense, glutton act a little too willingly. Dean is not a joke. He started out just as smart or maybe even smarter than his brother. . It's damn annoying. -
Well it was all kind of silly that Dean stood there while Dick vibrated, but still, Sam should've tried. Finding a way to purgatory should've been his first move since he knew that's where Levi's ended up. As Gonzo pointed out, there was no human goo stuck on the walls. And a dying Cas would've lit up the room. If Sam went into a deep depression and had a breakdown we need to see it on screen. As it was, Sam seemed just fine. He was free. When Dean disappeared in time, Sam didn't have anything to go on either. He didn't even know where in the expanse of time Dean was. But he went right into research mode.

I grew up in London, England. I have no clue about American football. But there are other shows on 8pm spot on Thursdays - stiff competition. I'd like it if the show moved to 9pm on Wednesdays. That would work with my world.

S13.E13: Heat Waves and Hot Flashes
Pondlass1 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Orange County
If one of the newbies has to go, I hope it's Gina. She always seems like she's over-acting for the camera. And like so many others have mentioned, Kelly has become my fav. She has fun, goes with the flow... and is outspoken but it's not vindictive outspoken. It pops into her head so she says it out loud. I wouldn't want to cross her, but at least I'd always know where I stood with her. I think the AC is a set up for drama. An expensive hotel like that would have it fixed in a jiffy. Vicki's melting face was so funny. -
I guess we could argue till the cows come home lol. But I've never had the impression Dean longs for 'normal'. I often feel he relishes the thrills and dangers of a hunter's life. Dean's a restless guy. Sam's the one that runs from the family business every chance he gets. And I think Dean was hurt because Sam's dreams never included him - always strangers or a dog. Dean remembered fireworks with his little brother.
-
I guess we all see things different. I saw a Dean going out of his mind with worry during that year with Lisa. And he only went to Lisa because it was what Sam wanted. His reaction upon finding out Sam had been back a whole year and nobody thought to mention it to him was heartbreaking to see. Sam on the other hand didn't seem much bothered about anything anymore and lukewarm about his brother's return. That was a half hearted hug at the cabin. But anyway everyone has their own way of seeing things depending upon their favourite brother.

Thursday at 8 pm is like the premium spot isn’t it? So there’s that. Lots of competition.

Did Angela admit that it was a glitch with the ATM and that the bank had refunded her money? I think this TV exposure will open up avenues for Michael and he'll find another elder to bring him over to Trumpland in no time. He dodged a bullet with nasty Angela. She thought she owned him. The next elder might be nicer. Karine is pregnant but hates Pole and wants a divorce and for him to leave. Then Karine has a miscarriage, and now cries and frets and doesn't want Pole to leave. He returns to the US apparently right after the miscarriage. Now Karine is somehow pregnant again? The Pole family seems awful creepy. But I wonder about Karine too. I think Pole's wise to ask for a DNA test. Jesse looked and acted ridiculous as usual, but what was going on with Darcy's hair? The extension or wig or whatever that was wasn't even the same colour or texture as her own hair. She'd look cute with a short pixie cut and way less makeup. Hazel appeared healthier and prettier and her new hair colour more attractive. I was a bit taken aback at Rachel standing up to a fuming Angela towering over her. No wonder she's not too worried about Jon's past. She can handle herself. I'm beginning to think that The Crazy jumps a generation. Lucy is the best!! Love her.

But where's the joy in that? Beating us down so that we obey and worship has to be unfulfilling in every way. I just wish these TV celestial beings were a bit smarter and not so bent on world domination. It's so done to death. I wish writers could come up with a new agenda for the powerful big bads. At least Dick wanted to eat us. What's Michael's getting out of all this? Anyway... whatever they do it will be small potatoes because they don't have the budget or time. I just hope they've thought things through and not just making it up as they go. The Archangel Michael and Jensen deserve better.

Thanks for responding. I don't know how come these celestial powers still don't understand human nature. Have they been twiddling their thumbs for a hundred thousand years. Free will and freedom are at the top of our list of needs. We will die in the name of freedom - probably more so than for love. Trying to rule the unruly is like trying to keep a lid on a pot of boiling water. We don't like bowing to anyone. It's all there in the history books. Yet there go the super celestials still thinking they can mold the earth the way they want and control seven billion wild and crazy humans. Plus Michael's stuck with the stubbornest bastard in the world as his host. Crowley thought Demon Dean would rule with him. hah! Who ruled in that relationship? Not Crowley.

I don't understand Michael's intentions. Does he want to destroy, rule, what? Humans can cause an apocalypse all by themselves (let's face it, we're doing it right now) they don't need an archangel and where's the fun in ruling a destroyed planet? I don't get these celestial big bads. It seems to me that the writers write themselves into a corner right from the start. I'm going to enjoy Michael (we've waited 9 seasons after all), but I wish the Powers would move away from giant powerful beings that end up unable to do anything but a fist fight on wires. And, since Jensen has spoken out I have a sneaky feeling we'll get Lucifer vs Michael Part Deux, this time without wires in the pre-Christmas hiatus episode. Angels and demons, heaven and hell, it's all so meh now. If there is a season 15 I'm rooting for a return to the beginnings - gritty dark stories about two blue collar hunters of the supernatural. I'm wishing Kripke returns to write the final season (won't happen of course).
-
Most of the scenes we see are staged. Cameras and lighting must be set up for the shot. I guess the shot of him coming or going had to be done on another floor of the hotel because of other guests. We just see 'staged' snippets of their lives. They're together 24/7 and we don't see any of that. When the camera crew arrive that's when the arguments/drama are ramped up for filming. Hazel and the two brothers had obviously visited a tourist spot and bought the t-shirts. But when we see them they're arguing like they just met that day., .
-
I think it speaks volumes that this board is so quiet just two days after the premiere episode.
-
I'm going to have to drink wine instead of tea from now on when watching an episode. As much as I'm impressed by Jensen as Michael, it seems the Powers have gone a similar route to Demon Dean. They've tied their hands with regard to what they can do. Michael is kind of ... restrictive in terms of story. What can they do with him? Especially as these writers have zero imagination or any passion for story telling. The writers won't want to upset Bros joined at the Hip fans so Dean will be returned quickly. But on the other hand no other character has a chance to 'breathe' when Dean's around apparently. .And he can't be too evil and upset 'tween Dean fans'. What to do, what to do? Well for one thing - I'd take a manipulative, intelligent and interesting Michael. Suave, sophisticated, subtle, articulate, focused. A complex complicated man. A sensual man, similar to his host. I don't like the idea of vampire army or blowing away all the lore (which means Dabb & Co can just do what they want in terms of canon). The Michael story could be so much. It's a Pandora's box with a skilled actor at the helm. But I have to remember this is The CW. Not a network renowned for sophisticated storytelling. Le sigh.
-
How does Jensen do that with his eyes? They weren't Dean's eyes at all. So flipping cool. It was a meh episode. We've seen it all before. And vampires? Really? Mindless vampires? Michael can snap his fingers and waste the planet but he needs an army of vampires? And then there's the forgotten EGG! Maybe dufus Cas had it for breakfast. (Remember when Castiel was something?)
-
Ratings are usually good for the first episode of the season.

I don't think I've ever gone into a new season with such trepidation. I'm thrilled and excited to see Jensen's portrayal of Michael, but then there's the rest of it.... Anyway, PVR is set. Good luck to all Dean fans. Sam and Cas fans too. PLEASE DON'T LET IT SUCK is my mantra for the day.
