  1. I think that only works if you shout "Live damn you, live!!!" while mid compression.
  2. I honestly didn't have all that much sympathy for the girl who got kicked out. The rules were (presumably) made clear to her before she moved in and - ridiculous as they may seem in this day and age - she would have agreed to abide by them. She broke the rules and had to face the consequences. Maybe Ms. Fry took an unseemly amount of glee from catching somebody breaking the rules, but it's her job to enforce them and if the girls don't like it well maybe they need to find a place with less stringent house rules.
  3. Normally I'd agree, but then I saw pics of Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer NCIS ) and Barrett Foa (Eric Beale NCIS LA) without their glasses, and they look completely different. (or I could just be that unobservant ;-)
  4. I assumed that they just didn't want to disturb a potential crime scene i.e. if a perp had switched the lights off, there could be prints/dna on the switch, so until it's cleared they have to leave everything as it was.
  5. I'm pretty sure that Chummy just mean that she'd treated other girls in similar circumstances. And IMO, while nobody will 'ask', more than likely most people will have a fair idea of what's going on when a teenage girl is suddenly shipped off for a few months. But sending them away for the birth/adoption will allow them to save face and pretend that it never happened. As for Chummy herself, I'm pretty sure that the time in S1 when she shows up to Peter and tells him that "Underneath this coat, I'm practically naked" was her first time. IIRC, her mother wanted her to have a white wedding until Chummy said she was 'no longer qualified' ;-)
  6. I saw it a few months back. Went to see it solely because of Essie Davis (Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries) and I wasn't disappointed. Horror wise, I've seen scarier movies but the Babadook was pretty damn unsettling (and I was glad I'd gone to an early showing so I wasn't going home in the dark.
  7. Watching him have sex with somebody when that somebody hasn't given their permission to be watched, that I'm guessing is the crime. Any interactions that happened in public, well it might be a bit skeevy to be effectively eavedropping, but it wouldn't be illegal.
  8. I think I might have appreciated Under the Dome (book) more if I hadn't already seen the Simpsons Movie!
  9. Oh I remember watching back when it aired originally and by the time Gannicus was captured I was sobbing pretty much non-stop until after the closing credits. (didn't even recognize Pompey when he finally showed up, even though I'm a Joel Tobeck fan)
  10. (facepalm) I can't believe I watched this episode and only recognised 'The Ferg' from Longmire during the boathouse scene.
  11. I would advise you to have a plentiful supply of tissues at the ready (speaking from experience)
  12. Caeser's not all that great if you remember that he was all set to rape Kore in an earlier episode and the only difference between him and Tiberius was that Caesar (mistakenly) thought that he had Crassus's okay to do so, whereas Tiberius knew damn well he didn't..
  13. I wasn't all that keen on Kitty last week - her accent just bugged me - and I didn't warm up to her until her conversation with Joan at the end of ep 1. She wasn't quite as annoying this week, and while I don't really want her around long term, it's good sometimes to shake up the dynamics a bit. (and for some reason I'd like to see her pair up with Bell on screen now and then)
  14. I'm not sure why they should be worried about their fingerprints/DNA at the crime scene. Didn't it take place in the Law offices where they work? Wouldn't their prints be expected to be there?
  15. I do love my i-pad and have scores of book on both i-tunes and the kindle app. That said, there's something about browsing through a bookstore and picking up books at random. From a practical point of view, while I can store a hell of a lot more books on my tablet, I still wouldn't feel comfortable opening it up in public while waiting for a bus/train or commuting. At least with a paper books, somebody grabs it, it's just a book and usually replaceable. Whereas if I take a tablet out in public, I feel it's just a matter of time before somebody tries to lift it from me.
  16. I wouldn't call it a favourite, but Flowers in the Attic definitely affected my outlook on things. The biggest thing I remember from reading it as a child (and most likely I was too young to have read it when I did) but I remember the mother blaming their problems on the fact that she didn't know how to earn her own living and that was why the family had to hide in her father's house. I remember thinking then that there was no way I was ever going to be 'just' a housewife with no income of my own. I didn't know what career I wanted but I knew at the very least I was going to do some sort of secretarial course so I'd always have some saleable skill. (30 years later, being to type as a result of that course is one of the most useful skills I have)
  17. IIRC, didn't the nurse say she'd put her hand through a glass window?
  18. I'd be interested to know what you think constitutes looking Irish. Many Irish people aren't actually white.
  19. When Salem's Lot aired first I saw part of the first half and was freaked out by the floating kid. Watched it all the way through a few years later as a teenager and ended up leaving a bible on my bedside table for a few nights. (my sister - supposedly the 'sensible' one, slept with a few cloves of garlic!)
  20. I think you're right about it being his underwear rather than swimming trunks. Didn't Lewis make a comment just after that along the lines of "don't get your knickers in a knot" because he knew Hathaway was (now) going commando!
  21. IIRC, they said that everything they found was through social media and not through NCIS sources, so while it might have been a bit over the top and/or obsessive, it wasn't using law enforcement resources, so not illegal. I don't think they said, My guess is that Ducky would have saved him once he was sure the guy was incapacitated enough that he wouldn't pose a threat. They need to so something like the Young Indiana Jones adventures with Ducky narrating his adventures to Palmer in the morgue.
  22. Perhaps he keeps a spare cellphone where Jack Harkness kept his blaster ;-)
  23. I did at one point mid-way through the ep think that Fitz was hallucinating and that while he was talking to imaginary Simmonds that the real one would show up behind him. But when that didn't happen, I figured I was mistaken...until the end. Talk about sucker punches! As for Ward, the only way I can see him being redeemed is if he sacrifices himself for SHIELD as in actually dies to save one or more members of the team. But then, i could see him being devious to put himself in jeopardy, obstensibly to save the team, but with the hope that they'll save him before it's too late.
  24. Mike Lookinland played one of the kids rescued by Paul Newman's character in The Towering Inferno.
