Just started watching this - we just finished episode 3. I had a couple of "huh?" moments. Mrs. Pickett finds out she is pregnant and in the next scene she is visibly looking like she is 5 months pregnant, and they're trying to help their kids make friends in their new town, so no time has really passed. Also, this is Wyoming, why is everyone speaking with a southern accent? (I've noticed this in Longmire and Yellowstone too). Are they trying to sound "rural"? whatever that may be?

Getting to Genoa You All Over Again: Y&R Daily Chat
roughing it replied to ByTor's topic in The Young And The Restless
I'm starting to revisit the Newman and Abbott clans after a decades long hiatus. I still have no idea who most of the extended family members are. But when did they all morph from decent characters that you cared about into these cartoonish caricatures? I used to admire the Newmans, now I can't wait to see NE and the family crash and burn (although that will probably never happen). And Phyllis was always wack-a-doo, but now what a joke, and not a funny one. To me there are too many characters - so many that there is no cohesiveness and the stories suffer. It's like Y&R is just a part-time job for most of the actors. -
Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

Regarding "eyebrows bride", a movie quote came to mind from Miss Congeniality - "eyebrows, there should be two!". Yikes! -

So I'm reading this as HP is no longer designing bridal for 5 years. I wonder if Kleinfeld still carries HP of JLM Couture? And if they carry it, do they promote it or are the samples hidden away in their giant storeroom? -

I did not care for the dress Emerald selected AT ALL. The first dress was similar in style but looked much better. Mom knew but was gracious enough to let her daughter choose the awful, twice-over-budget hideous dress. Wedding singer's dress was beautiful, and I loved her dad's reaction. -
Dr. Pimple Popper - General Discussion

Yes. It was a cyst that another doctor(s) removed but apparently didn't get it all because it kept coming back. Dr. Lee broke through the scar tissue and removed the cyst and entire sac. -

Why should AH acting skills be of importance? She looks so much like Eric Braedon. Like she could be his real daughter. Those eyebrows!! fug -

I'm not so sure about this ^^^. I thought the only benefit the brides got from being on the show was...being on the show. -

And person with a giant cyst on their forehead or severe facial acne sits down, and Dr. Lee says in an insane high-pitched voice, "so why are you here today?". Duh, you can't see it? I hate that fakey fake intro part. -
Also, nothing seems to be said about the outrageous cost of child care. Some of these women may not make enough money to pay for child care and will have to quit their jobs to stay at home, which leads to welfare. Does anyone (anti-abortion advocates) ever think of that? They hate providing welfare more than they hate abortion.

Maybe with the first season done, they can tighten up the writing for the next season. It seems like this season the writing was a bit clunky because of introducing characters and explaining the Lincoln schtick, etc. Next season they can just get to the story without extraneous explanations. Hopefully.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

What a contrast between TWA bride and Irish "snack" bride. I actually teared up during TWA bride's segment, as she was trying to balance the happiness of her wedding to the heartbreak of recently losing her dad. Gretchen's dress was gorgeous, but much better without the overskirt, which looked ridiculous. Snack bride was just as ugly in personality as the dress she chose. -

Can you explain what the wig admission was? I looked at Rachel 2021 posts and saw nothing there...??? -
Yes!! Good stories, good characters, good sets, good acting, good intro with the lighthouse facets... everything! These people felt like our family, our neighbors. We cared about them. And they cared about us, the audience.

Had to rewatch both episodes last night. At the beginning, did I see Dan put a big old slab of butter in his coffee???? Is that a thing?

I believe it was Kay reliving the conversation, which is why it looked so fuzzy. Because at the end Kay and Esther come back into focus. -

I just wonder if that horn will just keep growing back. Because of the woman's terrible fear of needles, I wonder if he was able to get down deep enough. -
I kept seeing Nancy Kerrigan.

Not really side-stepped. He was sober, and Izzy was trying to help keep him that way, encouraging him to go to meetings, etc.

We Own This City - General Discussion

He was a narcissistic egomaniac - in his mind he could do no wrong, and he had the support of most of his team and supervisors. The planting of drugs and weapons was just a means to an arrest (and increasing his numbers). The stealing of money was his *pay* for what he was doing and that he deserved it. Everything was justified in his mind. Maybe if he had returned the calls to the DOJ? or whomever, they may have cleared that up. But he was convinced he was going down. -
In each book, Mickey has a different driver. I like Izzy and hope she stays, but that's not true to the books. (Also, in the book, Izzy was a guy, can't remember his name though.)

It was Juror #7.

She was a friend of Ruth’s mom. Ruth was getting seeds as a wedding gift for Wyatt and Darlene. She brought them to the Snell house where she found them murdered.
