  1. LOL!!! I don't think younger posters will get it.
  2. I like the Bates but this proposal stuff is getting crazy. A romantic setting is lovely but this should be a personal moment between the two involved. I don't think Tori even officially said yes after Bobby proposed. She just wanted that ring...said it was lovely, etc. but I never heard her actually say yes when he popped the question.
  3. I don't think everyone needs to go to college. A good trade school can be an alternative. Licensed welders, electricians, and carpenters can earn a very good living. But the Duggars don't do that either. They just "help out" while the licensed people do the work and then claim they can now do that same work. And Crown College is at least better than never attending any kind of higher education. I do prefer the Bates to the Duggars. They give their kids more freedom. Can't comment on how closely they adhere to the Gothard philosophy. Sometimes I think we only get half the story there. Tori was so annoying! But the proposal site was beautiful...where was it? Asheville?
  4. I know those feelings so well! Everyone in my age group, family and friends were having kids. Those things go in cycles...everyone is getting engaged, everyone is getting married, everyone is having kids. You do tend to feel left out. And people can be unintentionally cruel with their questions. That being said, I doubt that infertility would cause Brandon and Michaela to even consider divorce. Like us, they will probably turn to adoption. As I had printed on my kid's 'birth' announcements, "You didn't grow under my heart, but in it."
  5. OOOPS! Just figured out how to set things up.
  6. Having gone through this myself, I can say that the testing she and Brandon have had thus far is pretty standard for fertility issues. In this last episode they were pretty specific about the testing they are having done now. How long have they been married. The usual time to see a specialist if you haven't conceived after a year of unprotected sex...I was older so we only waited 6 months.
  7. I'm having a problem finding 19 kids and counting, counting on, and bringing up bates. When I log on to PTV these shows are NOT listed in the forums section. I checked the part where they list all the programs beginning with a specific letter and still no luck! What's up?
  8. I read that Amy has posted that she is most definitely NOT a Gothard follower. Her Christianity is not rigid and exclusive of others. Good for her.
  9. Derick is looking better with a decent hair cut and shave.
  10. My Italian grandfather was named Rosario. My grandmother, his wife, was named Rosaria. In the US they were called John (go figure!) and Sarah.
  11. Who is this Caleb Williams who is rumored to be courting Jana?
  12. I thought that the team member had to go back and try again in the dune buggy if the judge said the name was spelled incorrectly. I know one of the guys (Chris?) switched a letter after the judge had told him it was wrong. Then she said, "Now it's right". I thought for sure there would be a penalty. It happened about 35-40 minutes into the show.
  13. I guess this has already been noted (I didn't want to read through 20 pages of posts!) but Jason Beghe of Chicago PD was in for quite a while and eventually got out. Now he openly criticizes the CO$ as a cult.
  14. I enjoyed this episode with NO DANNY. None of the ridiculous bickering like an old married couple. We have stopped watching the programs with Dano.
  15. The wife in this episode looked SO familiar to me...like she's an actress or something. Hubby thought so as well.
  16. It is a buffering issue and if you can't get more speed, sometimes the pause thing works.
  17. What we do is pause the show while it is running and wait a few minutes. Then we press play. This usually works for us. Don't know why!
  18. Well, my daughter had Butterfly Kisses played for her father/daughter dance. I hadn't heard of it before that! My dad and I danced to "Daddy's Little Girl". I guess all of these are kind of sappy, but I still tear up at that part of the wedding. My cousin had a foot amputated and was in a wheelchair. His daughter sat on his lap and they twirled around the room. It was sweet. Special relationship usually between fathers and daughters.
  19. Whether my taxes go up or not I'm STILL pissed that CO$ gets away with paying no taxes and is considered a religion!
  20. My thoughts: I called my father 'Dad", but when referring to him with my siblings I called him 'Daddy" Never did that with my mother though. She was always "Mom". Michelle looked the best I've ever seen her. Kendra's parents are so young looking! Joy looks way more than 3 1/2 months along...way more!
  21. I was married at noon ('high noon" if you ask hubby!) and we had a sit down meal for our guests, with alcohol, music and dancing. I'm from NY and that is fairly traditional here no matter what time the wedding. I just can't understand inviting people to a wedding and not FEEDING them!!!
  22. This has probably already been asked so sorry! We know that the girls always have chaperones when they are courting. What about the guys? Is it JB's responsibility to provide a chaperone for someone like Joseph or is it the responsibility of the girl's family? I hardly watch anymore. Only good thing is Jinger's advancement into wearing pants and shorts and not getting pregnant on her wedding night.
