  1. Isn't it true that the Duggars stopped playing broom ball when it was no longer free? I can't remember the actual circumstances. One of the girls said they loved broom ball.
  2. Love this, but I'd put the Bates boys further up the list.
  3. Josh and Anna held hands after they were engaged. The had figurative hand sex. It was disgusting.
  4. My take on the episode. Derick is beginning to look like Frankenstein. Lose the man bun and bandana. SHAVE. Joy wants to be a pilot but doesn't like math...find another goal, girl. Jim Bob continues to be an ass. Just sayin'. Lab lover out
  5. Good point. Jill couldn't even skpe with Derick without her parents looking over her shoulder. Maybe JB is beginning to see that when he says they set their own guidelines, some of his kids actually do that.
  6. I'm SURE Jeremy has been around the block. When he was at Hartwick College he was arrested for pushing a police officer. This took place outside a local bar (I live in the area). You can find the arrest report online. Probably a typical college drinking brawl. Then he transferred to Syracuse. And he worked in Finland for a while playing professional soccer. Don't know when his big religious conversion came, but he was asked to pastor a mission church...not sure of the denomination. I feel badly for a guy like him stuck with Duggar courting rules. For God's sake, he's 29! The line is that each couple sets its own boundaries, but they're all the same. I'd love to see JB's face if anyone in that family would say to him, "We've decided front hugs are OK, hand holding is OK, and a goodnight kiss is OK. Those are OUR boundaries, Dad." Edit. Jeremy's church is Grace Community Church in Laredo. They have a couple of photos of him on their web site.
  7. So they are officially engaged now. That was quick! Have they set a date?
  8. You have a great point. Of course she could learn to do some of the things you mentioned. It would help make the time pass. This 'mission' seems to be Derick's baby. She doesn't look happy to me...and if the danger threat is real, that might be part of it.
  9. Has it been determined exactly in which Central American country Jill and Derick are living? If the whole 'security' issue is not a publicity stunt, then I feel very sorry for Jill. She's probably alone all day with the baby. Cooking, cleaning and laundry for 3 takes up just so much time...plenty of time left to worry. If it's so bad, she should come back to the states for an extended visit. There is no mention of other Americans, Canadians, or other foreign nationals etc. with whom she could visit. But perhaps it's not so dangerous after all.
  10. Well, I respectfully disagree. I don't view her as a 'bimbo' at all. I don't read my very long insurance contract (FYI from Liberty Mutual), but I do know what's in it and what I am covered for...they send a one page summary of coverage which I DO read, and I can always call them with a question. In fact, we were just on the phone to them because we had a small run in with a deer (it survived) and have to make a claim. In all our many years of dealing with them they have never disappointed us. But, back to the commercial...I do not see this character as being portrayed as a 'stereotype'. I think she represents a busy woman who behaves as most of us do. I don't think the commercial belittles women at all. Quite the reverse. I think most of their commercials belittle men (i.e. the guy who stands there shame-faced in front of his wife for running into a food truck, the guy who sits their saying his wife eventually forgives him for running into her car, etc.) Sure they feature women who have had accidents ( 'Brad" girl, the one who hydroplaned into a ditch, etc.) but the women are never presented with their spouses or mention them at all. As I said before, I generally dislike their ads, but I always get a chuckle out of blah blah girl! Perhaps I am in that lowest common denominator of American consumers, although I believe that I do take responsibility for my own well being!
  11. I generally dislike the Liberty Mutual commercials, but I love the one with the gal in the white and red dress who asks, "Did you read your contract? No. Only lawyers do that." And ends with "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." I love the way she does that commercial.
  12. I'm sure many, if not most of you have read Escape by Carolyn Jessop. She was part of the Warren Jeffs FDLS group. I just finished it and life among those poor women was worse than I ever imagined. I could not believe the abuse from the husbands and also the sister wives. Warren Jeffs taking over made things even worse. It got to the point where men were not allowed to have sex with their own wives but must watch as specially chosen men planted their 'seed' to further the purity of the line. I hated what I was reading but could not put it down. Carolyn was the only female FLDS member to escape with all her kids. Unfortunately her daughter Betty returned when she turned 18, after living for 3 years in the real world. I am going to read the follow up book this week.
  13. ITA. I also think that the show is not proceeding the way Kody would like it to. He obviously reads these comments or others (as per him flipping the bird and his remarks about posters saying "go Meri and take Janelle with you"). He wants them to appear totally normal and I think he, especially, seeks approval and love. I'll bet he'd like to ditch the whole show except NONE of them know how to earn a real living. Isn't it about time for them to refinance the houses? Honestly, if I had to be in a polygamous marriage I wouldn't want to live in the vicinity of my sister wives. I'd like my autonomy.
  14. I'm not generally a fan of the ubiquitous Liberty Mutual commercials, but the one with the blonde woman in the red and white dress who says that on page 5 of her policy it says, "blah, blah, blah, blah, blah blah" always makes me smile.
  15. That is one cute baby. Shame about his name. Newsflash from Yahoo. Ben and Jessa confess that they talked every night on the phone without being chaperoned! Oh the humanity!
  16. This has probably been said before, but I really hate commercials where the husband/male partner is made to look like an idiot. Example: Liberty Mutual ad where husband with a 'perfect' record hit a food truck. Please do correct me if I'm wrong, but I rarely see a commercial where the wife/female partner is made to look bad. OK...let's not go back to the 50's but surely sometimes the woman made the mistake.
  17. I do love this family! Glad to see that Alyssa is enjoying her life with one baby so far. One thing...I used to do commercial cleaning. It's hard work and they seem to do a good job. But PLEASE wear rubber gloves when cleaning the toilet!!! Wonder if Erin must undergo the same injections that she needed for her other baby's birth. I hope not. That must have been so stressful. There has been no mention of it so far, so I hope it won't be necessary.
  18. Anyone know anything about the polygamous families of the program Polygamy USA? I saw on Tumblr that Hyrum and Kellie have a daughter now. No word of him taking a second wife.
  19. Janelle has put on weight. Wonder why Aspen didn't move in with Meri...she doesn't want to 'mother' kids so Robyn seems a poor choice.
  20. A Gone With the Wind ending in my opinion. I think they just didn't KNOW how to end it.
  21. A Gone With the Wind ending in my opinion. Sorry for the double post.
  22. From the looks of the previews we now get a review of Jill and Derick's story. More about wanting to adopt. Ugh!
  23. I fast forwarded through most of this episode. Cheap and chintzy to have 80-90% as old stuff.
