  1. I have one too, and it is amazing. I bought it after my 10 year old $400 dishwasher finally died.
  2. Your coworker was definitely out of line. I’ve done the same thing (walked out) and explained that the conversation was not productive and I would be happy to continue it when all parties could be civil. You shouldn’t have to put up with that, and I’m sorry that it is affecting your holidays. I hope the new year brings you a new job in a location that you love.
  3. I have this mandoline and love it. Mostly I use it for slicing potatoes and onions. I don’t use a cut resistant glove but maybe I should!
  4. I made Smitten Kitchen’s Short Ribs Bourguignon, rustic buttermilk mashed potatoes and roasted carrots for Christmas lunch. Dinner will be leftover spinach artichoke dip, baguette, and crudités.
  5. Oh, that really shows Chris! Way to use your kids to get back at your ex (and I use that term loosely).
  6. We returned to our annual tradition of having a nice lunch out on Christmas Eve and a dinner made entirely of appetizers. At lunch I had a cup of clam chowder followed by hanger steak, very thin fries with truffle and rosemary, and a small arugula salad. All of it was great, and I brought home half of the steak. This year’s appetizer dinner was the Barefoot Contessa’s artichoke spinach dip (it includes caramelized onions), shrimp cocktail, some vegetarian puff pastry appetizers from the Whole Foods freezer section (quite good), toasted baguette, and crudités.
  7. I tried the spinach artichoke dip from Modern Comfort food for Christmas Eve. It has caramelized onions and mayonnaise in addition to the usual ingredients for the dip. It’s very good (no surprise!). I did use twice as much cream cheese (a whole block instead of a half) because I wanted it to be extra creamy.
  8. Those kids are probably glad there’s not a lot of food, so that they only have to eat a little of Jill’s slop. No wonder those kids look malnourished.
  9. I’m so sorry, @Scarlett45. Our beloved pets are never with us long enough.
  10. @annzeepark914, I hope you all are okay! Today we had take out BBQ. I got 4 Memphis ribs, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and green beans. I only ate 2 of the ribs - they were huge! After that lunch, dinner was rolls with ham. I regret nothing!
  11. Homemade broccoli cheese soup (my favorite) for lunch, and I made mushroom and green pepper pizza on my baking steel for dinner. I’m on vacation through Jan. 3 so more time to cook and bake.
  12. Well, by “divorcing” her himself would be even clearer, but he won’t do that. Divorcing in quotes because I know they are only spiritually married at this point, not legally married. But Kody is not going to be the one who terminates his marriage because…reasons. After all, even though he didn’t want to be married to Christine, in his statement about their divorce, he made it sound like Christine made the decision all on her own.
  13. I usually give any donations I have to my housekeeper. Her church welcomes immigrants from Brazil (primarily) who arrive with very little, and has a room set up with donations that they can use to start setting up a new home here. Occasionally she will keep something but usually she takes everything to her church. I like knowing that the items will help out someone instead in the community, instead of being shipped elsewhere or put in a landfill (which sometimes charities do apparently).
  14. Hmm, that makes me wonder about cranberry goat cheese (I think I’ve seen it at Trader Joe’s) and oranges or mandarins. I agree, Whisps and Moose Munch are both good. I received some Moose Munch from my manager as a holiday gift, and was so happy!
  15. @Scarlett45, you and Blake are in my thoughts.
  16. So Ben deleted his post. Way to have the courage of your convictions, dickwad.
  17. Oh, FFS, Bin, have several seats with your preaching. You are a very boring killjoy.
