RE: pins in the toes. I have had pins in my little toes after surgery, and they just pull out at the office after the toe has healed. That was no big deal. Being non-weight bearing for 6 weeks is no fun; I've had to do it twice. But it so pays off in the long run. It really is worth it to take the doctor's advise and just get it over with. It is very important that non-weight bearing means just that. If you can follow the orders to the letter, you will have a much better chance at success. And, most importantly, out of pain with a fully-functioning foot. Walking on a broken toe will lead to not only much more foot pain, but it will throw off his entire gait and way of walking. That will lead to many other problems including pain from compensation in his hips and knees. And probably back and shoulder pain. And permanent foot disfigurement. It is not a good idea to let it continue.

It is possible that Jill does not know what "swimming lessons" really are. She may think it is a time to just play in the pool. I would love to see the boys on swim team.

I didn't realize this was Truely until it was posted here. I really thought it was an elderly relative of FT.

And their destination can be kept secret. You know, to avoid the rush of fans and all.- 918 replies

Do we know for sure he took the bar earlier and did not pass? I'm wondering if he postponed the bar since he had so, so much going on in his family when it was given the first time.

I wonder what her friend looks like in real life. We know this is not Meri's real appearance.

Where I lived in California, mail theft and porch pirates were a daily occurrence. It got to where the porch pirates would rent a UHaul truck to follow the UPS delivery man. I finally rented a mailbox at a mail store and had anything of any importance delivered there, including packages. I live in a much, much safer community now, but I still have all my important mail (insurance, tax info, legal stuff) sent to my box at the UPS store. That way I know it is safe. The junk mail comes to my house. The mail carrier at my home seems to have great difficulty getting mail into the correct mail box. The USP store does not give me any trouble.

I wonder is she walks around reading on her cell phone instead of paying attention to what is around her. I have had people just walk right in front, or, even more scary, behind my car when it is moving. They are not paying any attention to their surroundings at all. Getting hit twice seems a bit strange. I would think a lesson would have been learned after the first accident.

Are the medic guys there helping? There are things there that they could actually do that make a difference.

Trader Joes has good produce and some nice speciality items, but I have never thought of it as "high end". Trendy, maybe, but not not expensive high end. Their own brand wine, which has won many awards, is around $30 a case.

Altitude has a lot to do with cooking and baking, also. You need to add extra time if you are over (I think) 3000 feet. I live at 4700 feet, and I know I cannot bake my gluten-free bread. I just cannot figure out the adjustment for the yeast, water and temperature. I finally gave up trying. Since water boils at a lower temperature here, food does not have the time it needs to cook through unless you add some time. I read you need to add about 10%. Surprising to me, this applies to Instant Pot cooking, also. Luckily, I don't cook anything special or bake too often, so I can usually get food cooked. But a "universal" cooking time in a recipe does not exist, as far as I have learned. -
Who would even think it was a great idea to walk barefoot on a trail? They must be making some kind of statement that I don't get. That is an accident waiting to happen. Maybe they just want to see how much and what kind of feedback they get, so they posed for the pictures sans footwear. They do some strange things.

In the district where I taught in CA, we were told that the school was responsible for the child from the time they left home until they returned home. I'm not sure how that worked, but I do think each district made its own bussing rules.

Unity candle has been around for a very long time. It is not an exclusive Fundy thing. Maybe the crowd is small because there is actual food at this wedding.- 918 replies

I always wash everything in my suitcase when I get home from a trip. The only time I have used a laundromat while on vacation was when my uncle became ill and I had to keep my postponing my trip back home. When he died, I really needed to go to the laundromat because I had nothing clean to wear, since I had outstayed my vacation for about three weeks and I had to stay for one more. If I am staying in a hotel for more than 2 nights, I always bring my own sheets, and usually buy a blanket or two locally. I will never use a hotel blanket or bedspread. I know the towels get washed, but I never know how clean the blankets are, or how often they have been on the floor. I cannot imagine putting my clothes on the floor of a hotel room.

Do we even know if Jill is getting "normal" prenatal care, or is she seeing an untrained midwife as before? In the past, she felt she knew everything, until she didn't and ended up with emergency hospital births.
