Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
CalicoKitty replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
He is an accomplished schmoozer. It will be interesting to see how that works out for him. He will either be "saving" the prisoners, or hiding as much as he can. -
Thank you. We had the burial Thursday. All her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were there, and we had a nice private service. She never liked attending long funeral services, so we made sure her's was short and to the point. She had a deep faith, and she would have liked what was read and said. It is good she is out of pain and confusion now. Thank you for your thoughts.

Jed! and Katey: Biblically Bunking Together

I think that was a punishment, not that he "needed" to be swaddled. I hope they received enough comments on that picture that they learned that that is not the way to correct a child's behavior. I really feel they have grown as parents and are doing a better job at correcting their children. I wonder if that is one way that M and JB forced their kids into "instant obedience". -

Didn't someone post here that the LLCs are set up needing two signatures, and that Travis Story was able to be a signer? It sounded to me like none of the kids could just take the money in the LLCs with their name on them. There had to be a "controlling" second signature. Either JB or TS. Or did I dream this? -
I thought it was posted that he passed some special exam for multi-state licensure.

How is it that a WOMAN in this cult has the nerve, and autonomy, to post her actual opinion? I am impressed. -

I think JB has been filtering assets through LLCs in Anna's name. Wasn't money in Josh's name transfered to LLCs in Anna's name since this scandal broke? I think it was posted here somewhere. I guess that scheme didn't work so well. I really wonder if this will lead to an investigation into JB's finances, as well as his attorney's. When I first saw that Josh was arrested, I thought it was money laundering of some kind. -
I constantly have packages that show they are in Reno, which is an hour away from me. The next day it shows the package is in Stockton, CA, then back in Reno again, and finally to me. I have had several packages get lost this past year, and have had to have a refund issued or have had to reorder the item. Sometimes the packages have been listed as "undeliverable" and returned, which means the Post Office destroyed the packaging. And, sometimes, the original package shows up weeks later, and then I have two of the same item. (At least if you have reported the item lost, and it does show up eventually, you can keep it for free.) I really don't like Amazon using USPS. I have a lot more problems than when Amazon delivers. I am in my home town for my mother's funeral tomorrow, and I drove by the new Amazon warehouse. It is HUGE! It is out in the country, and I have no guess as to how many acres it takes up, but it is a fair number. I am amazed at how big that building really is. I'm not sure how many jobs it brought to the area, but I think I heard about 1500. That Amazon building is---an Amazon!

It makes me feel better to know I was not the only one. I'm glad we are both back on!

I just plain out could not get on the site for a couple of hours. The screen would just flash and then go blank. I'm glad it seems to be fixed. I thought something was wrong with my laptop, but other sites were working, and my new desktop was doing the same thing on this site. All is well for the time being.

Where I used to live, porch pirates would follow behind the delivery truck. Their cars were being picked up on people's Ring doorbells. One man identified a car as the one he had sold the previous week, and could give the new owner's name and address. A particularly inventive porch pirate rented a UHaul pickup and followed the delivery truck. I wish there was a good solution to this problem.

I have a box at the UPS store, and they accept and hold my packages. There are many "mail store" places that offer the same services. It is a pain to have to go out of your way just to keep people from stealing, but I have found the cost for a mail store, USP store or a generic one, is well worth it.

It takes some kind of guts to go on stage wearing that costume. I'm not sure if it is bravery or total unawareness, though. That is just sad.

I'm sure Nurie knows nothing about nutrition, or what a baby should be eating at his age. The older siblings would regularly fast so the little kids could eat, but I'm sure she has no concept of how much and what types of food to feed him. She and her husband don't even have the concept of child safety, apparently. Like riding in the car without a carseat. Poor kid is in for a rough time. Edited to add: he could just be a skinny kid, but I really do worry about good nutrition in that family. Nurie did not have a great role model in that department.

I think that may be the point. How would the design shows on TV exist if they couldn't change the "tastes" and trends every few years. I love my "bland" walls, but my home decor is anything but colorless. Artwork, quilts, rugs. Everyone has their own tastes, but I prefer calm and restful colors on the walls.
