Thanks. This exactly what I was considering. I was going to use a 24 inch TV that has lost its wifi card, so I think I will just start all new. Do you find the standard as-sold configuration of memory and storage sufficient, or do I need to upgrade that, too? They are clear that there is no upgrade later, and this is my first experience with the M1 chip. I loved my large MacBook Pro. It lasted me a long time. But I have a 13 inch Mac Book Pro which is east to carry, so I think I will go desktop in my office. This is helping me so much. Thank you.

I am sort of leaning that way. Then I have to pick a color, and some of them are so pretty. And decide how much memory, etc. But I need to do it. The vintage laptop only works with the TV monitor if the lid is closed, which makes using it virtually impossible.-----I hate making these decisions. Thanks for your vote.

OK. I need some computer advise. My 15 inch Mac Book pro, now considered "vintage", acquired a cracked screen in my move. I have using my smaller laptop, which fine. But I want to really start organizing photos and other genealogy material, and I need a desk top to do that as well as be a backup for all my other stuff. I've narrowed it down between a Mac mini and the new 24 inch desk top. I already have a TV that I can use as a monitor, so all I need to add to the Mini is the keyboard and mouse. The 24 inch comes complete, but is more expensive. But not out of reason. I called Apple, and the lady said she preferred the 24 inch desktop, but reviews I have read seem to like both. Has anyone here had experience with either one?

Well, if so, they should have hired one who knows English grammar.

Ariela and Biniyam: Haile Suspicious!
CalicoKitty replied to Christina's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
Oddly, I have friends that book seats across the aisle from each other when they fly because they both like to sit on the aisle. Maybe neither "adult" wants the window seat. I can see each of them wanting their own way. They are not the most "grown up" adults. -
I'm surprised she doesn't have the entire property under camera surveillance. Complete with large signs announcing the fact.

Has the medic-whatever group posted any more updates, or any information on what exactly they DID "overseas"? Are they still there, are they home, how long did they stay, WHAT DID THEY DO? How were the "donations" used? I'm guessing it was a much worse situation than they thought, and there were not enough opportunities for photo ops or fast food places open. There is something very, very wrong about this whole thing. Flying in for one week and handing out supplies (and probably getting in the way of real help), and then coming home does not give one many bragging rights.

I get that. My stove has grates like that, too. Since I don't cook very much on the stove, I bought what they call a "noodle board". It is a beautiful walnut board that covers the top of the stove. When I need to cook, I just move it aside. But it does keep all the dust and stuff from the microwave from falling in the grates. It is lightweight and easy to keep clean. Her stove looks like she is cooking for a family of 10 every day of the week. Sad thing is, I doubt she even notices. I doubt there was much "order" in the house growing up. Just free-for-all mess.

The Other Duggars: The Lost Girls and Amy

I very recently tossed a shirt of my mother's that was from Lands' End. She wore it for 40 years, and it finally wore out. She still has a couple more in her closet that are the same age. I guess their clothing does last a long time. -
Apparently, cleaning the stove--or kitchen--was not her jurisdiction growing up.

And moving a piano is a huge expense. You can't just pack a piano in a UHaul if it is a good piano. I had someone bring me a piano in a UHaul, and the sound board was broken in the process.(I did not know they were moving it themselves). And, as you said, professional piano movers are very expensive. It is a real art. I wanted a Clavinova, but "settled" for a Yamaha, and I am very pleased. Very nice touch and sound, and just enough piano for what I want at this point in my life.

Jed! and Katey: Biblically Bunking Together

There are lot of English "boy" names that are considered "girl" names. Leslie, Evelyn, Marion, Shirley, Vivian, Gail, Lynn--these are the ones that come to mind quickly. I had a great-uncle Shirley. I've known a male Vivian and Marion. And a Gail. -
It sounds like it is a piano that needs a lot of work. I gave my piano away to a family with young children before I moved. You can get electric pianos now that actually have the weighted action and touch of a traditional piano. A bonus is that electric pianos don't need tuning. I am happy with the one I bought. It feels and plays like a "real" piano while needing less maintenance and floor space.

Maybe it is a family name? My great-grandfather was Turner. -
Flora is the almost-perfect cat. She hangs with me all day and sleeps under the covers at night. She is very smart, and comes when she is called. Her one problem is food. She will eat anything in sight. She always tries to share my dinner plate, and I have to eat fast and not look away. She is very quick at stealing. She also likes licking hand lotion. But she has the sweetest personality, and I guess I made a vey wise choice at the shelter! She really is a sweetheart. I am so lucky that my cats really like each other.

I cannot tolerate any artificial sweetener, especially Xylitol. Best way I know to clean the system. I have to be very careful to not eat anything that says it is "sugar free". Poor kid.

We are under a wind advisory today, and, boy, is it blowing. Gusts up to 45 mph are predicted. Ever since I moved into this house, the flap in the stove vent makes a lot of noise when the wind blows. I found a possible fix on line, and it is actually working. My vent has stopped making any noise. Amazing what a piece of weatherstripping will do! I hope the wind dies down by Wednesday or Thursday. It's not looking good that mom will be around much longer, and really would like to see her one more time. (Not that she knows who I am anymore) But I can't drive in the wind. My drive over the mountains takes me to over 8000 feet elevation and I really don't like long mountain driving in the best of conditions. So, I will wait and see how the week goes. Al least high winds is better than being stuck in the house due to forest fire smoke. I guess. I'm ready for 2022 to be over!
